My husband was later evaluated as well (keep in mind we just came here to get basic care). They suggested the mouthwash to him and the electric toothbrush. He turned down both especially since I had mouthwash at home but they sent him home with it anyways and billed us for two. Before he even got his cleaning done, they suggested a whole list of things he needed done and exaggerated the state of his oral health. The quote they gave him came out to $2,450 out of pocket AFTER insurance covered what they could. So we got a second opinion at another dentist office just to find out that my husband didn't need anything more than a cleaning AND it was covered by our insurance. Weird that my teeth cleaning, I still had a fee to pay. The receptionist can be unfriendly over the phone. One the of dental hygienists cleans your teeth so harshly. I get that dentist offices are a business too but it shouldn't be that much of one that it compromises the integrity.

We each only need a cleaning and we're past the 6 month wait for insurance to cover it (they were booked out 8 months when we scheduled these). She originally stated they don't have a hygienist on wednesdays anymore to do cleanings. Both our appointments are scheduled on a wednesday just a couple weeks out from each other. So he's seeing a hygienist tomorrow and I'll also be seeing one on wednesday Jan 14th. She literally had no reason to not switch us. She only kept repeating herself that she will not be switching us. I asked to speak to someone else and she refused to let me. I find it pretty ironic that they have a huge sign on the receptionist desk when you walk in that talks about how they wont service you if you have an attitude... it seems like the common denominator with the attitude problem is the receptionist.

But this was recently remedied with a visit to my new dentist, Dr. Moldoveanu at Modern Family Dentistry. I was able to schedule an appointment about a month from when I first called, and to the office's credit, they called and texted me a couple of times when cancellations popped up. I didn't have to wait for my appointment to start when I showed up on the day of my appointment. Dr. Moldoveanu did my cleaning and exam -- plus he's a fan of Harry Potter, which we talked about in between me having his hands in my mouth and him working diligently to clean my pearly whites. I was told my appointment would last an hour, which it did. I appreciate that accuracy considering I needed to get home to relieve my babysitter. This is also a small office, with the dentist and two additional, friendly staff members. It was clear that they all work well together.
