This was my first visit to the LimeGreen Wellness Centre and having been invited to a 'healthy lunch' and informal nutritional chat at the weekend, I thought it only right to give a wee review of their service. LimeGreen Wellness offer support, advice and encouragement for people looking to improve their health and wellbeing, through education and good nutrition. It's aims at people wanting to loose weight or improve their fitness levels. They also offer a Fitclub, coaches and trainers too.
They are linked with Herbalife - a nutritional company who provide protein meal drinks and tablets designed to boost energy levels and enhance metabolic performance. It's a meal in a drink and having tried various flavours like vanilla and cookie to mixed berry, I can vouch they are pretty filling. They claim these drinks have all the essential proteins and vitamins that our body needs and are around 200 calories a meal. I was interested in these drinks, as I am on the 5.2 diet and often looking for low calorie meals for my two "fasting" days. Although I wasn't totally convinced... something about not knowing what exactly were in these drinks put me off and although they were thick and filling, I'm not sure I'd feel satisfied after just a drink for a meal.
The centre itself is a mostly open plan, with a consultation area, seating area and tea prep. It's bright, white and airy. Location wise it's very hidden, off Rose Street, west end side with little signage so be sure to google the address if you ever want to visit. The trainer, also called Sarah, I met was very helpful and friendly. read more
