The Lime Kiln Inn is a large country pub, just outside the village of Long Sutton. It is surrounded by rolling fields, has an expansive car park and scenic area of outside seating. On our journey back from Cornwall, we arrived at the Lime Kiln before it opened at 6.00pm. As that time approached, the car park rapidly filled with cars, obviously a popular place. The pub itself had a great feel about it, authentic beams and a bustling friendly atmosphere.
The restaurant menu was both written over the main bar and on a large board in the restaurant area. The restaurant featured large wooden tables and sturdy chairs, with a good feeling of space. The menu was fairly expansive for all three courses featuring old favourites, plus specials containing local food. We plumped for Scampi, and Ham, Egg and Chips - good sized portions and very tasty. The pub and restaurant were packed by the time we left, a testament to its popularity and the friendliness of the staff. read more
