Ya Tai Spa on New Falls Road, Levittown, is a fairly traditional Chinese massage house that…read morespecializes in elaborate foot massage and Tui Na whole body stretching and meridian massage. They take health safety seriously, and wear masks at all times. Prices are about a buck a minute, so an hour massage runs $60; a 90 minute stay with hot stones (dry) and hot towels (wet), $90. I recommend the longer traditional body work as it provides ample time for deep relaxation, and even a nap in the midst of all the heavy hands being applied by the skilled masseuse. True, the elbows in the trapezius and sciatic notch will wake you up with a jolt, but the release of stress is almost immediate. The hot stones and towels may burn a little at first application, but they cool quick enough to leave no scar, and quickly relax the long held tension in muscles, tendons and ligaments. The final 20 minutes are spent on your feet, and those prying fingers and fists digging into the sole will either cause a temporary spasm or slowly make you love your feet again. Very worth the self indulgence ever now and then. A word about tips. Tipping is expected after the session. The normal gratuity is about $20 per hour, and $10 per half hour thereafter. It is not uncommon to tip more for a particularly good experience. These folks split the house charge with management, and they depend on your generosity to survive and support their families. So, to avoid any unpleasantness as you leave, be prepared to pay what is customary and build it into your cost calculations. If this is bothersome to you; do yourself a favor and don't go. Stick with the more expensive American chains that won't be insistent to avoid the mishugas.

When a person comes to me, I like to evaluate and approach each session based on what they are feeling or what they would like the focus or outcome of the massage to be. With that in mind, I listen to the muscle tissue, and build a plan for them individually. Building a relationship with a client is even better for me as a therapist because I really get to see the muscle tissue and structure transform. With regular bodywork, you really can become a whole new person. I love being a part of helping people heal and de-stress.

My experience was nothing short of horrific and DISGUSTING!!…read moreDiane BELCHED THE WHOLE TIME!!! Loud and long and plain disgusting!!! I heard burping in the other room before we started I was not sure who it was!! She told me she works with energy and when she feels energy she will burp! I'm sorry not sorry- never once was that mentioned to me beforehand! Nowhere does it say in her website she burps the whole time! I was gagging!!! Not only that I had her for a post op lymphatic drainage massage. She had me stand the whole time and only worked on my incision. That is not a lymphatic massage. Besides the fact it is not even sterile to burp on me in my open wound!!!! I am still annoyed. Then she had the nerve to ask for a tip and when I did not tip her she texted to ask again! Awful all the way around! I have had lymphatic massages before her and after her and I know what they are supposed to be. Certainly not this and no way would I ever had said yes if I was warned of the gross burping!

Got lost a bit on the day of the appointment, 800 E Cottman avenue is also a apartment complex across from the WAWA. Me and my mom was a bit late to our appointment but Rose sign us in swiftly. When we entered the room, the room is lightly dim and cozy. Our masseuse came in the room in 5 minutes and start our hot stone first. I love the fact that my masseuse therapist(Louis) didn't speak much and let me enjoy my session. Didn't realize how sore my muscle was until the hot stone treatment. Mom say the hot stone lacks a bit of pressure, maybe I should get her the deep tissue next time. As our facials goes, we LOVE the facials. My mom says Handled With Care facials are so much better than Asian facials beauty parlor. I have extremely sensitive skin, but since HWC only uses organic products, I didn't have any aftermath side effects from it. My mom even want to sign up for a prepaid facial package after this trip:)

She is located on the upper floor of a chiropractor office. The room is appropriately and calmly decorated to provide good energy. There is little to no sound from the outside and others in the building. She talked to me before the massage to review the information I had provided on the intake form, asked me specifically about my needs, and talked about some of her techniques. During a massage she asked about pressure and my level of comfort with the temperature of the warmed bed. I walked out a new and better person. Her various techniques, ability to read energy and know my needs and focus on problem areas transformed me back to my aligned, energized self. I have gotten massages at five star resorts in Arizona and the Caribbean, at local places here in the South Jersey area, and this is by far one of the best. She wrote down tips and information for products without trying to sell me anything like other spas do. I'll defintely be a regular and I highly recommend.
