Most are from Scotland and there are a few from Ireland. Here's the reason why I really like this place- you can purchase 100ml samplings of select whiskey. Rarely do I ever see a shop do this. Count yourself fortunate, Freiburg. It took me a long time to decide, but I finally left with an Aberlour 19 year single cask whiskey. They have Speyside, Islay, Highlands and other designations. Let yourself me drawn in by the whiskey lure. They do have some other spirits including, what I can only assume to be, house infused spirits on the far opposite side of the lower room.

One of my favorite areas in Zurich, varied and authentic. The only downside of Cafe Noir is that the staff are not the most welcoming towards non-regulars. It's happened to me more than once that I was waiting at the bar to order when regulars came in, coffees were made and chats were had while I was just being ignored. It's great that this is a true neighborhood joint but they could do with a bit more friendliness towards the ordinary customer.
