If you have children, it is worth stopping by the Lillington Children's Centre to see what they can offer you - you may be surprised at how much. Government funded, a lot of what is on offer here is free or heavily subsidised. They run a range of groups, some of which you need to be invited to join, others are drop in for anybody. They also have an allotment and sell off the produce in a community vegetable scheme, which offers you fresh, local veggies at a very low price - you do have to order on a certain day and collect on another though. The centre is purpose built, having a large airy entrance foyer, a creche full of toys, books and art materials, a large hall and a couple of other small meeting rooms. read more
