Last 30 years at this same location. Food was great! Ambiance and service very good as well. Drinks are some of the best I've had. Their Pisco Sours are a must. Looking forward to going back before returning home.

It definitely felt like an authentic local place with many Chileans eating inside, including families and people just off work. The place is set up like a diner or soda fountain (hence the name), which I really liked. The service and food was not amazing, but it definitely felt authentic. I got a Churrasco sandwich, which was huge and very messy. I tried to eat it by picking it up, like a normal sandwich, but struggled. I noticed many locals eating it with a fork and knife, which was definitely the better option. I would recommend a stop at this place. The food was pretty good and there menu is filled with many local favorites. It's definitely not a place to go out and eat but perfect for a midday meal or late night snack!

When it comes to a sandwich, it seems that every part of the world has their own take on it. It is…read moreof little surprise that in Chile, a country that adores meat, the lomito would be full of pork and avocado mash. As the restaurant that invented this dish, it is undoubtedly very popular, typically having a wait of ten to fifteen minutes during the lunch rush. This location has a very quaint outdoor patio that is often frequented by street musicians, resulting in an awesome and authentic vibe. Everything moves fast and efficiently here, so don't expect a period to chat with waiters or get a ton of attention. Order quick, get food quick and savor the moment. Now, when it comes to the food. I did not see a single brave soul attempt to eat a lomito with their hands: forks and knives were the tools required for this sandwich due to the sheer size. That in itself is a bit nuts since it defeats the general purpose of a sandwich, but who am I to judge. Locals and tourists alike love these beastly creations. The pork inside is tasty and tender, complimented perfectly by avocado. They even have a lager on draft. There is really nothing to complain about and without trying other lomito spots, I cannot fully compare. Personally, I cannot say that this sandwich blew my mind or will make me crave lomitos. It's a good dish that I can happily eat any day, but the struggle of not being able to enjoy both bread and filling in one bite was a bit distressing and I can't say that I'd rush here to get another one.

Same old place as it was in 1945 - great food, pretty decent prices (if compared to a place in the States). My all time favorite - Completo ( a specialty hotdog made in Chile; bigger bun, avocado, diced tomates and mayonnaise (I never add it). ) It is as I remember it as a kid - S U P E R B! ! ! The place is also known for the schop - Beer in a Mug...oh and DAMN good beer too. I had not been here in around 10 years - so it was a must! 2 schops and completos later - I needed a good walk. To this day - this is my favorite quick food spot in all of Chile. Now they offer craft bier which makes it even better for those of us who like that taste. Come by - you will never regret it

In less than a year of opening, they have made a name for themselves, as they offer a traditional "criollo" taste with large servings and decent prices. The restaurant is simple, tiny and clean but what they lack in "ambiance" they make up for in taste. They have daily lunch specials for 3,500 it includes a juice or soda, soup, main dish and dessert! This is a great price - especially for all of the workers in the area. I wouldn't limit myself to just their lunch specials, they have a delicious lomo-salteado with big cuts of steak and vegetables (unlike many other peruvian restaurantes). The waiters and owners are always attentive and if you need to make a minor change to a dish (for example vegetables instead of steak) they are very accommodating. This is not a restaurant to take a date you want to impress or have an important business meeting, but the authentic Peruvian dishes won't let you down.

While getting our beers we realized they only accepted cash and so my husband went to go find the nearest ATM. He was gone for sometime because many of the nearby ATMs and banks were closed. While I was waiting the owner said hello and I explained that my husband went to go get cash...and he was fine. 10 minutes went by and he started questioning whether my husband would return outloud in Spanish. This continued repeatedly even when an English speaking patron came into the bar. The English speaking patron asked me if I wanted to call my husband...regardless to say it was a horrible experience and the owner was rude and even caused his guests to be rude. My husband returned and the owner actually added a propina tip before the total for our bill was determined (aka a predetermined, manually added tip by him). Summary = don't go if you can help it and go to Chipe Libre which has awesome service, great drinks !!
