A quick summary: Nice atmosphere but distracted service. I watched my beers sit on the counter for several minutes before they were brought over, I ordered 2 Gyoza and only got one, etc. the Gyoza were very good and the dipping sauce nice. The sushi itself was one-note. Spicy tuna not spicy and the rice a bit over cooked, missing that sexy "pop" of well done sushi rice. In addition something weird was happening with the soy sauce--it was either watered down or sugar added. It was bland and odd. Overall, it was fresh but bland and all just went to mush in my mouth. I might return if a group was going but for sushi I am making the trip downtown for Sushi Ya.

Kids are welcome; however, I do see it best as just an "adult" restaurant. Great for dates and little get togethers. They also do take away so if you feel like sushi, but in PJ's, you can call in your order and come pick it up.

The market was open but Sushi-Ya did not open until 12. My husband and I arrived at 1145 and took the opportunity to browse. We returned to Sushi-Ya at approximately 1215 at which time there was one table left! People know this place is good and we felt lucky to snatch up the last table. We ordered a ginger tea, hot sake, and a variety of rolls. The wait for the sushi was, perhaps, a little longer than I might expect but we were a little behind the lunch rush and were not in a hurry so no big deal. The waitresses responded quickly and courteously throughout the meal. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi!
