This community is a home to those who want to learn about mindfulness meditation and the art of living a mindful life. The inspiration for the teaching come from Thich Naht Hanh and the Buddha's teaching. They offer classes, workshops, a full day of meditation, different retreats and more. Some classes are donation base, some are not. Overall it's open for anyone in the community. I used to come more often to the weekly meditation on Sundays but then I got busy teaching at the same time it was offered. I try to come once in a while to the monthly Saturday meditation day. It's once a month on a Saturday from 9-4. They offer some meditation, then walking meditation, then Darmha talk ( teaching) lunch etc. everything is done in silence... The facility is beautiful and currently they are building residential wing I believe. You can register on line to receive their newsletter and know. The entire retreat area radiates an energy of peace and "Zen" from the moment you arrive. I attended the Gentle Yoga class led by Cristina, and she was incredible. She is soft-spoken, calm, and clearly very knowledgeable in the yoga arts. Her guidance helped me achieve a genuine sense of alignment and body harmony; it was the perfect environment to relax and deep-stretch. I also brought my mother along, who is a beginner. Cristina's teaching style was perfect for her, helping her find a great balance of movement without feeling overwhelmed. This is hands down the place I would choose to visit during times of turmoil or distress. His center is beautiful and I've seen it grow into a very compassionate and loving community of people working together for peace, love and spiritual healing on all levels. Drupon just finished building his large teaching shrine room for teachings and gatherings. There are retreat huts and private retreats available. I'm excited to go to The Centers big celebration soon for the blessing of the new shrine room. Practices and teachings are available for all on a weekly basis. They are led by Drupon Rinpoche and his partner, meditation instructor & translator Virginia Blum, along with other senior leaders in the community.
