This community is a home to those who want to learn about mindfulness meditation and the art of living a mindful life. The inspiration for the teaching come from Thich Naht Hanh and the Buddha's teaching. They offer classes, workshops, a full day of meditation, different retreats and more. Some classes are donation base, some are not. Overall it's open for anyone in the community. I used to come more often to the weekly meditation on Sundays but then I got busy teaching at the same time it was offered. I try to come once in a while to the monthly Saturday meditation day. It's once a month on a Saturday from 9-4. They offer some meditation, then walking meditation, then Darmha talk ( teaching) lunch etc. everything is done in silence... The facility is beautiful and currently they are building residential wing I believe. You can register on line to receive their newsletter and know. I did not take any pictures as I thought it wasn't respectful.

Listen... I came for a "temple visit" and somehow ended up having one of the best Thai meals…read moreFlorida has to offer sitting on a big-ass group table.....Go figure. Wat Mongkolratanaram OR "Wat Tampa" is what happens when Tampa minding its business suddenly turns into Thailand for a few hours. You walk in and it's peaceful, beautiful, very Thai ... and then Sunday hits and it turns into a low-key food hustle in the best possible way. The food? NOT that fake, sweet, mall Thai food. This is the real deal. Aunties back there cooking like they've got something to prove--and they do. Pad Thai, grilled meats, curries, mango sticky rice... all hitting like you just got off a 12 hour flight in Bangkok, not I-95. Couple things--CASH only. This is not the place for your Amex Platinum or Apple Wallet personality. Also, yeah, there's a line. Relax..... You've waited longer for worse decisions..... get there early. Best part? You grab your food, walk over to the river, and just sit there eating like you've got nowhere to be. No rush, no nonsense, just good food and a vibe that makes you forget you're still in Florida. It's not fancy. It's not curated. Nobody's trying to impress you--and somehow that's exactly why it does. So, If you're anywhere near Tampa on an early Sunday morning , you must check this place out.

Service: 4/5 Food: 4.5/5…read morePrice: under $20 Being home for the holidays means returning to an old tradition of attending their Sunday market. While the set up has changed over the years, the food has mostly remained the same. Maybe to accommodate the long lines, they moved some food stalls to a tent area away from the main patio + posted a billboard menu. One big difference were the non-food tents, they used to have a plant stall, but I didn't see it this time. As it was a post-holiday weekend, they maybe limited what was open. We usually aim to arrive right at opening (~9AM) before the line for the noodle soup line gets too long. Arriving ~10:30AM/after the first wave would also work too. Point is to arrive in the earlier half of the day before food items get sold out. Tip for the temple: cover your shoulders, shorts/skirts almost to the knees, shoes off before you go in, give a small cash donation. CASH ONLY What I Recommend: - Fresh Rolls with Shrimp - Fried Sweet Potatoes - Pumpkin Curry - Noodle Soup with Thin Noodles - Pad Thai - Fried Sesame Balls - Mango Sticky Rice

It's a quaint (if not a tad on the small side), peaceful, spiritual and warm studio. & I really love how many different style of classes there are, from regular vinyasa to chakra healing. Very grounding and authentic. But, of course, my biggest compliments are to the fact that it is infrared, so cool. Look it up. Seriously. As a side note: My partner and I booked a couple private sessions with Gloria (owner) too. She is a unique & knowledgable person and an inspiring healer. Highly recommended!

My purpose was to find a place that combined yoga and meditation practices... I was pleasantly surprised, as I have gained so much more than I ever imagined. I can honestly say with complete confidence that I feel the best I have ever felt in my adult life! I have learned to be happy within myself and that has given me a new perspective in my life. Gloria is a truly gifted human! She has an amazing amount of knowledge and she radiates Love and Light! Gloria and her husband Carlos have become family to me. Finding annother Ashtanga teacher comparable to the wonderful Tasha at Yoga for Ewa on Oahu, who knows the sequencing and how to make adjustments seemed like an impossible quest unless I was willing to drive and fight through traffic to downtown Tampa. Fortune for me found itself at a little, cozy studio tucked away in a small shopping plaza off 41 behind the McDonald's. Leah is not only well versed in the primary series, she's no non sense, badass yogini who counts way too slow, but hey, it's to burn away my samskara, right? I have a love hate relationship with her, especially when she forgets to turn on the AC. If you are masochistic like me, go take Leah's Ashtanga class. It's small and intimate, so there's no hiding in the "back of the class". Seriously, it's a difficult class but things that come via difficulty are the most gratifying. And as they say here, no mud, no lotus! Oh I failed to mention logistics, register for class online for $12 a class (make sure you do it at least 30 minutes prior to the start time) or pay $15 at the door. Punch cards are available from the wonderful and sweet owner, Jessica (who I've heard gives a great massage). The merch is also pretty darn cute. Get yourself a "rocker tank" to display those Boulder shoulders you'll be getting from getting your headstand and Vinyasa on!
