I tried watching some YouTube videos, and I'm sure there is some good advice out there, somewhere, but I figured having someone explain the basics to me then watch me and give advice on what I should change, was worth the investment. Cameron was professional, knowledgeable, personable, and most importantly - patient.

I initially did a private lesson with someone, whose name I can't remember, at Coronado Golf Course many years ago and I had a bit of a bad experience. I left feeling more frustrated than I was when I first started because I was unable to hit the ball, even once, after following the techniques that I was taught. I was instructed to keep my arms as close to my body as possible and in doing that, I was unable to swing through because NEWSFLASH! I have rather large breasts blocking that pathway... HELLO!!!! I kept trying to tell the guy but I don't think he could relate, LOL, and surprisingly told me to stay the course with the "keeping my arms close" nonsense. After my first lesson lesson, I became convinced that I would never be able to golf because I have boobs and gave up the sport entirely, chalking it up to be something that was not for me. Fast forward to now, I decided to give it another go. I met with Shane and he broke everything down in a very simplistic way and what d'ya know!? I was able to hit the ball right away. What a difference having a great instructor makes! I would highly recommend hiring Shane for a private lesson. He turned something that was frustrating and seemed impossible to learn, into a sport that I look forward to learning more about. He is a great teacher! Can't wait to take more lessons from him soon and start kicking ass at golf!

Despite this, I was never informed of the outcome and was simply left without any communication. A quick email or call would have shown basic respect for the time and effort applicants invest. I hope Goodwill improves how they communicate with candidates so their hiring practices reflect the values they promote in the community. People matter, love governs.

Today, August 5, 2025 at about 3:15, at the Serene and Eastern store, I found the perfect desk for my granddaughter. It was a white Claiks electric standing desk. As I was removing the tag to bring it up to the counter to purchase it, a woman became very testy with me, challenged me about purchasing it etc... It was a bit bizarre and felt a little intimidating. A few minutes later when I went to the counter to purchase it, all the sales people got nervous and started murmuring together and called the manager who refused to sell the desk to me. She had various excuses. When I got home, I googled the desk and had it been new it would sell for about $300. Anyway, the entire situation was very stressful and very suspect.

I had communications via letter (US Mail) and mobile texting with the team leader, Jennifer Aucamp, who was so helpful and explained the process to us, step by step. We were sent paperwork (it was in-depth and lengthy) to fill out in order to assess our son for his "test." (This was to see if he had a learning disability or a need for speech therapy.) We had our first appointment with another family. We were given a short introduction/ orientation before heading to the room for the "test." We were speaking with the team leader while our son met with the other teachers, in another room. It was about an hour for the entire process. Together with the paper work we filled out and the input from the teachers and counselor, we would have another meeting to discuss the results of the "test." A few weeks later, we had our next meeting (this was a shorter appointment). Our son did well in most of the areas of the test and he listened to their instructions, however, he did need speech therapy (resulting in an IEP). It was a relief to know that our son just needed speech therapy (we suspected as much). They told us that our son would have speech therapy for as long as he needed, and that a few times a week, during school (kindergarten) he would be meeting with his speech therapist. We signed some papers. This would be for the file. The Child Find team here was very helpful. We had a good amount of communication. Our issues were addressed. This experience turned out to be a positive one for us. We were very thankful for their help.

They were hoping to find a private chef in Las Vegas to cook them an infused dinner. Long story short, Chef Vee responded almost immediately and we got to planning the dinner, with only 8 days advance notice! Not only were she and Natalie the coolest, Chef Vee tailored everything on the menu towards what we were looking for (and some we didn't know we were looking for...). My fiance and I are in love with Peruvian cuisine, especially seafood, and once we learned that was Chef Vee's specialty, we were beyond excited to try her infused take on some classic dishes. She and her assistant arrived on time, were wearing gloves and a mask, and got right to cooking while entertaining us with stories and just hanging out. The food was outstanding; it felt like we were taken right back to Peru, and the infusions put us in a very chill state of mind. They hung out with us after dinner for a bit and once they departed, our kitchen was spotless and our fridge had some leftovers that were gone the next day very, very quickly. Would definitely recommend for their good company alone, but the food was everything we hoped for and it was the unanimous highlight of our weekend. Thank you Chef Vee! 10/5 Stars.
