It's a small, cozy venue that feels more intimate than a traditional theater, which can be nice for smaller shows and performances. The building has a unique, historic feel, although the seating could definitely be more comfortable. The theater itself is quite small, so I think the experience may depend a lot on the type of show you're attending. One area that could use some attention is the bathrooms. They were not in the best condition, and there was some inappropriate language written inside, which was a little disappointing. Overall, I'd say it's worth visiting at least once if there's a performance you're interested in. The intimate atmosphere is definitely part of its charm, but there are a few things that could be improved to make the experience better.

Two story stage worked well in how we were able to see the characters in private conversations which switched so smoothly between scenes. The play is set in 1937, in the Great Depression with the hardships of earning enough money to meet the family's needs. Serious subjects with lots of humor thrown in. Tears and lots of laughter. All the actors were amazing. So pleased Terry found a cast with so much dedication to the craft, down to perfect accents!

Adele, producer and accomplished dancer, always has a special group of guests to entertain and titilate your fancy. Adele likes feathers and they look good on her and you will be able to see a great deal of her behind the feathers. She will have a new costume to start every show and they will compliment her form and moves and your imagination - perhaps a silver wolf or a bird of paradise, always new and nice. Her guest performers are fun and provide a variety of special burlesque entertainment. Perhaps you like hula hoops, or a black wolf with all the moves, or a WWII soldier - you may have seen these outfits and many others on Ms Wolf's guests and they always come off to reveal the treasures that lay beneath. One of the highlights of every show is the gorgeous guest bellydancer, somehow managing to look exotic and beautiful, seemingly expending little or no effort, as she dances, glides, shimmies and teases. There is always a surprise at the Adele Wolf shows: perhaps Adele's mother will make another guest birthday or anniversary appearance; maybe she will think up another game of contestants taking the panties off the clothesline with, what else, their mouths; and always prizes that will have the guests in stitches. You will want to return to see who the next MC will be: a good looking fifth grade teacher or perhaps a cross dresser that will take your breath away, you never know. And, not last or least, there will be the tall person, dressed in black, quiet but the ever present Beaver! who does the hard stuff like pulling numbers out of a hat or holding the hat in a provocative way for another guest to draw the numbers. This is a local acting troop tht has been putting on Shakespeare plays in the OKC area since 1985…read more They use to do them at several locations/parks around the city but now have a dedicated 200 seat outdoor garden area theatre in the Paseo Arts district where they perform during the summer season and at a a local venue or their 55 seat black box theatre in the paseo. They are very affordable and family fun. It's a good night of entertainment depending on your feel for Shakespeare and what play they are doing.

Play with the light…read more Solid Light by Anthony McCall was such a fun experience. In a collaboration with the Tate Museum, the Oklahoma Contemporary Art Center has a very unique display. McCall's immersive light sculptures invite you to interact with but not touch the light. So much fun to walk through sculptural beams made of mist and projected light. This sensory experience was truly amazing. It was also a fun challenge to try to capture the images. The 2-D images on film barely scratch the surface of what you will enjoy in the Contemporary Arts Center. Ask questions to learn more. It was so interesting to hear about the installation. The center is just two floors of art. The exhibits change regularly. Parking and entry to the museum are both free. Enjoy the Solid Light.

The first floor was full of student art (from the adjacent studio I believe) and the third floor held a evocative exhibit, Jakian Parks: The Black Land. I wish I had had enough time to explore the grounds and the outside art. The best thing about OCAC is that it is free. (Please feel free to support this place and a $5 donation is encouraged.) I'm anxious to see what exhibits are on view the next time I'm in OKC.
