If you are looking for a City to make you feel alive, the LoDo District is the place to be. LoDo District (also known as Lower Downtown Denver) is a well-kept historic district that is bursting with tons of great shops, clubs and lounges, restaurants, happy hour places, and tours! You can guarantee a lovely day with much to see and do if you plan to come during the weekend. This area is perfect to walk around during the summertime and explore all the fantastic murals. I truly recommend visiting Larimer Square and checking out all the shops. You can truly do this in one full day. It's nice but not much to see for a long stay. Denver's architecture is unique as most of the buildings used to be low brick buildings that were built in the '70s and '80s. Make sure to also check out the most popular street in Downtown Denver, 16th Street, which is the best and fun part of the City and also offers a free 16th Street Mall Bus! Enjoy nice walks up and down the Mall Street as you walk past people having a wonderful time exploring and window shopping. One will also notice the cleanliness of the streets. The summer is a great time in this district as it brings street musicians to the 'hood. Don't forget to also explore the Market for a good lunch spot; it's definitely a great opportunity to check out the various different shops and vendors. Enjoy the area during the hours of happy hour for many drinks and food specials! Many of the places visited were pleasant and I had a great time. This is a great place for solos and singles to hang out during the evenings and weekends as this district is a hot hangout after work and at night. Some popular streets to visit are Wazee and Blake which offer great establishments that you shouldn't miss!

The review ended up saving the markers while designing the highway access points to the now built shopping center we visited today. They are remarkable hand built pillars of local sandstone, commemorating those who served in that war. They also served as a gateway to Boulder County from the eastern Latina of Colorado and from Denver before the network of modern highways were built. At the time , 1928, Arapahoe at this location was to be known at this gateway as the Road of Remembrance. Sadly, there is no way place to actually walk up to these pillars to view them up close. Took the train to the Terminal and then took the escalators up twice to get me to the Baggage Claim area. On the plane we were told our luggage would be at Carousel 9, but without notice, they switched it to Carousel 7. A nice man told me there was a switch and my bag was one of four left on the stopped carousel. After retrieving my bags, I had to take the escalators down to get to the Arrivals pick-up area. It is quite confusing! It's difficult to decide whether or not I am a fan of those white pointy canopies or not. From the inside, I couldn't understand the aesthetics. Reminds me of the circus' big top, but with many mini-tops! Those canvas tops represent two things: the snow-capped mountains and the Native American tepees. Elrey Borge Jeppesen was an aviator who set standards for safety in the early days. There's an exhibit located on level 6 at the north end of the terminal. I missed finding it! In one of my TSA pictures, to the left of the American Flag, there's a statue, I think that is where I should have gone. Didn't realize it until I got home and looked closely at my pictures. Jeppesen moved from Salt Lake City to Denver in 1941. He is an important figure in the Colorado aviation history. According to the internet, there are 6 levels in this terminal. As I wandered, it only felt like 3 levels. I was in shock with how crowded TSA was at 9AM on the floor below where I entered after being dropped off. You can get a good view of both sides, North & South. Thanks to my son, he told me I could go to "The Bridge". I stayed on the entrance level and walked over to the bridge and eased my way through the very short TSA Checkpoint lines. Yay!! In going this way, I was already at Concourse A. I only needed to take the Train past Concourse B to Concourse C where my gate was. If you read this and it is helpful for you when you leave Denver, you're welcome! I'm one of those odd people who wants to explore the airport rather than solely use it for travel. I arrived at the airport early for my flight home so I could see the shops! You can park on either side of the park and almost all street parking in the area is free two hour parking. Apart from the "baseball diamond" and outfield in the northwest corner of the park the playground is the southern focal point. Even though the visitor center was closed when I came, there are areas of interest around it. Plus, I was able to drive through and enjoy the RMANWR. When I came the last time, I walked out back to see the Black-Footed Ferrets Exhibit (house) and further to see the herds of bison! That was fun! It's free to come to the Wildlife Refuge and to visit the center. There's plenty of parking in the lot off to the side. If you require handicap parking, there are a few spots directly in front. Pat Schroeder was a former U.S Representative for Colorado and this visitor center was renamed in her honor. Upon walking in, there's a huge bison next to the exhibit hall full of displays. I liked seeing the history of how this refuge was transformed from an Arsenal to a Wildlife Refuge. There are a few displays showing the animals that are at the refuge. In short, during World War II, the U.S. Army bought this large parcel of what was farmland in 1942. They developed chemical weapons. After the war, Shell Oil acquired the land & began producing agricultural chemicals until 1985. The land was very contaminated from all these chemicals. In the mid 80's, a large number of bald eagles were spotted wintering here and it started the development of the environmental recovery. In 1992, Congress passed the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge Act, designating the site as a future refuge. Cleanup was finished in 2012. There is an information desk if you have questions. They had rubber stamps available for three National Wildlife Refuges - this one (Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR), and 2 in Arvada (Two Ponds NWR & Rocky Flats NWR). The one guy had no idea and the other offered to stamp them for me. There are brochures for the refuges as well. Be sure to stop by the Gift Shop, too. It's run by Friends of the Front Range Wildlife Refuges. I bought a unique magnet souvenir. It is a slice of an antler with an image of a bison and the name of the place. If you have time on September 26, 2026, come to the Refuge Day Free Event from 11AM-2PM. There will be activities at the Visitor Center. I hope to come back again on my next visit to the Arsenal!
