Come one, come all, lend me your ears. This is another Southwark public light art review.
These lights are the runt in the litter of big pups. These lights are just not as entertaining or inventive as their cousins scattered like fairy dust all over the Southbank. In comparison with the lights dotting the underpass on Southwark Road or the skipping bulbs of color under London Bridge, these lights just lack interest. They poor kiddos, it's not their fault - someone just put them there in the order they lie in - but they just fail to capture my imagination. (Actually, my imagination is endowed with not only Pterodactyl and Tinkerbell wings but also with magical powers, so it's quite hard to capture in case you had any funny ideas.)
Anyhow, these lights just sit there in the sidewalk, not particularly illuminating in a physical or emotional sense. read more
