I told them I want my lights to stay in my house after they're used, and they refused service and said it breaks the contract and warranty. I had no issue with this, because I trusted that they would keep my lights working properly under their supervision. Last year my lights didn't work, and Mike guaranteed to replace them for this year. When I went to take my lights this year, more than half were broken. He refused to fix them because I didn't sign a new contract, but they stopped working in his warehouse. I told him to keep all the lights and I'll never do business with them ever again. They want to force contracts onto their customers and won't even honor their own contracts or work! Your lights will break if they take them, I wasted $7,000 on broken lights and the only one who wins is the company receiving your money.

They were unreachable the…read morefirst half of December and finally showed up late at night unannounced on December 17th - scaling my home with ladders and on my porch without as much as a call or knock first. Late, terrifying and Bizarre behavior. I asked them to leave my lights on site upon removal since I planned on having lights all December next year and having someone install them at a normal hour with notice so as not to traumatize my small children. In order to ensure they actually did this. I told them I'd pay the remaining invoice balance when they removed and returned my lights. Instead they took my lights and are again unwilling to return the lights without cash payment. I wish I had known who I was getting involved with turning something as wonderful as holiday lights into a nightmare! Please do not be fooled by the slick sales pitch as I was!

Having worked for 30+ years in the Huntington area I knew of the LONG time store for shades just West of the intersection of #25 & #110 and actually found something that 'worked' but it was a bit too 'modern' for the style of this antique lamp. He did have some very lovely old fashioned shades, w'fringe & embroidery that were very beautiful but a bit too 'much' for my taste! Thinking I wasn't going to find the 'tailored' but 'old fashioned' look I wanted I purchased the shade from the well stocked place @ the top of #110. Since I had looked for other 'lamp shade' places here on Yelp & phoned 'Tomlin' before leaving home, and the man had been so helpful on the phone & it was on the way home I figured I might as well stop there also. I am so glad I did! Perfect shade for my lamp, 'old' looking but not 'boudoir-ish'! I had been unable to find an antique brass satin finish chain & fittings for a found on the curb on trash day 'Tiffany like' chandelier that I had looked high & low to match @ the 'usual' places w'no luck. I mentioned it & low & behold a few trips to the back & he came up w'all the parts I needed! One of the nicest & accommodating store owners I have EVER met! THANK YOU Sir! In this day of 'mass produced', while seemingly ever increasingly cost & uncaring store owners, Tomlin Lighting is a REAL find & a ONE stop store for ALL your lighting needs! Only bad part of day was I had to drive back to Huntington & explain to the first 'shade' shop owner why I needed to return his shade!
