We were visiting Vegas for the weekend and decided to check out The Rock Christian Church on…read moreSunday, and I am SO glad we did.
It's a smaller church, but there was so much heart in the service. The worship was probably my favorite part. Honestly, at times it felt like being at a worship concert, not because it was flashy or about putting on a show, but because they gave SO much time and space to simply worship the Lord.
I think there were five or six songs throughout the service, several at the beginning, more toward the end, and even worship as we were leaving. It felt like there was room to just get undone with the Lord. Sometimes worship at church can feel like, "Okay, let's get everybody hyped up and awake!" This wasn't that. It felt more like, "Let's open our souls and worship our Creator." I really, really appreciated that.
The message was also given by a female preacher, which was actually my first time hearing a woman preach a Sunday sermon. She was really good! I appreciated her wisdom and insight, and I thought the lesson itself was meaningful and well delivered.
Something else that stood out to me was their heart for the community. They have a ministry where they welcome and feed people experiencing homelessness, and I believe they offer meals on Sundays and Wednesdays. I loved seeing that their ministry extends beyond the walls of the church.
Overall, what earned five stars for me was their obvious heart for Jesus, discipleship, worship, and people. It may be a small church, but you can tell there is a lot of love there.
If we're back in Vegas over a weekend, I would absolutely come worship here again. And if you're local or visiting and looking for a church to check out, I definitely recommend giving The Rock Christian Church a visit.
