They are professionals and their equipment is legit! They setup meetings with us leading to our special day to make sure everything we wanted was captured and they were at our disposal if we had any questions or concerns. And now the BIG day...Yuki & Derrick arrived at our hotel early to setup their equipment in both the Groom & Bride's locations. Our entourage, family & friends were blown away at the setup and it just set the tone for the entire day. They weren't intrusive so the footage captured was very natural. The choreographed sequences helped telling a story on video and the same-day edit came out flawless. Not only is the composition and overall "look" of the photos of the highest quality, but Ramin was also able to put two very camera shy people at ease immediately with his incredibly relaxed and kind personality, plus that witty charm. Ramin is a humble, kind soul who truly goes out of his way to deliver an incredibly easy experience with phenomenal results. When we were originally looking for wedding photographers, we had a bunch of high-end options available (coming from Los Angeles), but felt very saddened by the price tag and worried we would have to settle for less on the big day. Ramin made is absolutely possible to have the very best photo experience with all of the shots we dreamed of while at the same time working with our limited funds; in fact, we felt he severely under-charged us for these photos-- that is how wonderful they are, and so well-within our budget... Not to mention that it was his daughter's birthday on the day of our wedding, and he at no point in time made us feel rushed whatsoever or even mentioned it until he was leaving! Ramin's clients feel like an absolute priority while he is working with them. Lastly, the turn around on getting the photos, of which in our chosen package we were given full access and rights to downloading in high quality from a weblink, was incredibly quick! Within 3 days we were looking at the hundreds of lovely shots from our wedding, when many of my friends say it took their photographers weeks or even months to get them their shots! I can't say enough kind words about The Marin Studio…read more My fiance and I met Ramin at a bridal fair looooong before our wedding and we immediately hit it off--he was so easy to talk to and his work really speaks for itself. On top of that, their pricing is a steal. You just can't find work of their quality at the pricing they offer. Period. Our engagement shoot with Ramin back in March was amazing (despite unexpectedly terrible weather). He totally rolled with the punches and made it work...and the pictures? FANTASTIC. In fact, we got our edited engagement pictures back TWO DAYS after our shoot. Yeah. TWO DAYS. Amazing. Theeeen, on the day of the wedding...we had selected a package that included both Ramin and Beth and they both showed up exactly on time with big smiles on their faces. They were like little, unobtrusive flies on the wall getting all of my requested detail shots! Beth spent the morning with the guys (and they all totally adored her and couldn't stop talking about how sweet she is) and Ramin stayed with the girls (he was equally adored!). Anyway, we, once again, had less-than-ideal weather...but they made it work! All of my family loved Ramin and Beth and still talk about them almost 2 months later. My first special wedding day was ruined by IVAN because HE NEVER SHOWED UP! 2 years ago I hired Ivan to be my photographer for my wedding. I was planning my wedding for 2 years. I wanted it to be perfect so I planned ahead. He himself (Ivan) said he had availability on my wedding day so then I signed the contract and paid the down payment right away. I soooo excited and everything I planned was coming together perfectly. 1 month until my wedding I gave Ivan a text regarding the wedding. No response. I gave him a call, a text, and a email. No response from him. Now I'm petrified! I called him again, texted, and emailed. I got no response. I read the contract again to see if I missed anything important as in if I didn't do something he would cancel. Under his contract it said if I didn't pay the remaining payments within certain amount of time Ivan will cancel and charge extra for equipment and other charges. I didn't miss any important dates for last payments. Then I thought, "wait a minute, is he ignoring me because he wants to keep the money and the extra charges? Or does he have a bigger event to go to?" So I kept trying to contact him and left messages regarding the remaining payments. I was nervous and hopeless then that feeling turned into anger. I couldn't let him get away with this! THIS IS MY FIRST and plan to be my last wedding! I contacted THUMBTAK where I hired him through. I explained the situation of him not answering his phone, emails or texts. I'm pretty sure THUMBTAK got a hold of him because the next day he magically responded. BUT BY NOW HE ALREADY RUINED MY WEDDING. It's a month before my BIG DAY. I don't have a photographer to capture my special event. Ivan's excuse was that his scheduler messed up the day but it was Ivan I spoke to when I asked him about his availability from the get go. HE HIMSELF WAS THE ONE THAT SAID HE WAS AVAILABLE! When I finally got a hold of him, Ivan said that day he was going out of town and he that he will not be there, just like that! So casual about ruining my day. Til this day I am upset. DONT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! I never wrote any reviews on YELP before but he can't continue to do this to people's SPECIAL DAY like this. He is a horrible person! I also have proof of the conversations and his contracts and conversation from THUMBTAK. I am not one of those people who complains to get things or a manipulator. PLUS he never compensated me in any way. I really just don't want someone else to go through this nightmare.

Our family met Dave through a mutual friend, and how lucky we were, since it was just at the time…read morethat we were seeking a professional photographer to take family photos/portraits for our little 5 month old grandson, Max. Babies at that age are not so easy to work with, especially if you want to capture an expression, a moment that reflects their emergining personalities. After providing us with some suggestions about clothing, hats, etc that we might want included in the photos, Dave had us gather at his studio, and he patiently worked with both parents and the baby. Max can be quite restless and in constant motion, but Dave was able to work calmly, quickly, and yet was not distracting or intrusive in the family dynamics. He took a series of shots, and we were then able to pick out our favorites. These photos, taken with such clarity, we then had enlarged and framed and they now grace the walls of our house. I will be forever grateful to have these as family memories. In addition, Dave is an enthusiastic naturalist, and has taken wildlife photos that are amazingly creative. In his studio we viewed some of the recent work that he has done (birds, wolves, coyotes, etc) and decided to order a couple. Instead of framing, we decided to try something different and have the images printed on metal. The resulting clarity turned out to be stunning, almost a 3D effect. I highly recommend Dave's work and services.

He provided competitive pricing and reassured me that he would be the editor of our videos, unlike other vendors that outsource the editing to people you would never meet or know about. #like - Alex is very professional and responsive. I think I spent the least amount of time coordinating with him compared to my other vendors, and everything turned out great. Every client is different, so this is not to say that you won't communicate much with him, but more-so that my outcome reflects his high level of experience. The video quality of the product was high. There were drone shots of the venue which was cool. Alex seamlessly collaborated with the separate photographer vendor, and he provided suggestions to my wife and me on poses and scenery to utilize so that we didn't have to spend time thinking. During the wedding, Alex genuinely expressed how much he enjoyed filming us, and this was significant to me because it shows the passion that Alex has for his work. A vendor could be a good videographer but not necessarily enjoy working; Alex takes it to the next level, where he delivers high quality work while also enjoying what he does. #suggestion - I bought a hard drive to provide to Alex so he could put the video files there for me.
