I contacted Liggett's Carpet Cleaning by telephone from a referral from a friend. Upon calling ,the owner answered and said his name was Larry and asked how he could help me. Upon telling Larry that I had a fully carpeted 2nd story apartment that I just moved into had very bad stains in the kitchen and lots of what appeared to be pet stains in the other rooms. I told him I had no idea what the stains were but I wanted to find someone who would do their best to remove them. He told me that he had several different specialized pre-treating solutions that worked very well and that he would decide what to use once he got here. He gave me a whole house rate of $99 to clean my entryway, living room, bedroom, hallway, and my huge walk-in closet, along with my bathroom and kitchen and washer dryer/ mudroom, That is 8 rooms for $99!!!
We agreed on a time and he was prompt in his arrival, He was well groomed and professionally dressed as was his technician. They inspected my apt and before starting to work they tested the spots for what solution to apply. I was very impressed at this point as I have had carpets cleaned by several companies in the past and none of them took the time to do this.
When bringing their equipment and hoses up to the 2nd floor, they paid special attention not to drag their hoses on my walls and woodwork or on the staircase. When they pre-treated the bad areas they also treated the dark area where the carpet met the baseboard along all the walls.
His assistant explained that dust from the furnace gets pulled between the carpet and the baseboard and under doors. (it's technical term was "filtration" ) He explained that it was an oily dust so vacuums don't pick it up very well. This was another thing I had never seen any other company do no less explain the cause and solutions. He recommended possibly getting the ducts cleaned and definitely using a hose attachment to vacuum the area regularly as the best solutions.
Larry and his technician worked like a well oiled machine taking turns cleaning the carpet and moving furniture and putting moisture blocks under my furniture to prevent staining. They worked in a steady pace paying close attention to my problem areas stains were coming out.
When they cleaned my kitchen and bathroom they got an upholstery tool and got on their hands and knees and cleaned under my cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. They even used it around the toilet. I was impressed again.
The process was so quiet since most of it was mounted in a van parked outside all you could hear was the vacuum from the dirt extractor. When they finished they carefully removed their hoses and equipment as they did coming in and we reviewed the results and everything looked fantastic, Even the kitchen and bath that were stained the worst looked great. I was so happy!!! He said that they would be dry in a few hours but to leave the furniture on the blocks for 24 hours.
Larry settled the bill with me for exactly what was quoted even thought he clearly did more work but he did not even attempt to upsell me. He suggested cleaning the carpets again between 6 months to a year depending on the traffic area's appearance because once the carpet dirty it wears faster and cleaning does not fix wear. I put a reminder on my phone to check them in 6 months and another to clean them a year from now.
