In the State of Oregon co-parents can't be compelled to share custody. If one of them doesn't agree…read moreto share, no matter the petty reason, then one parent becomes custodial parent and the other becomes non-custodial. This often has nothing to do with the "fitness" of the parent and has everything to do with revenge and control, often from the custodial parent. Firefly counseling doesn't understand the nuances of co parenting relationships and has "office polices" in place that completely disregard the rights of non custodial parents and pays no regard to the parenting plan in place. I would avoid this clinic at all costs if you are in a co-parenting situation, because these policies exacerbate an already tenuous situation. Also, the communication back from the provider has been abysmal, often taking 6 weeks or more to respond. Custodial parents probably get responses faster. I feel completely overlooked and not at all respected as a parent by the "policies" in place at this clinic which very simply states Custodial parents get all the say and non custodial parents have NO say in ANYTHING, including but not limited to when appointments get scheduled during their parenting time. I highly suggest looking elsewhere for child therapists, as this "mental health clinic" is incapable of understanding the nuances of co-parenting.

I don't even understand why we were on the schedule for one of the missed appointments. I believe the appointment was made in error on their end. And I told that to the front desk. The therapist says the front desk informed me of their discharge/no show policy- they absolutely did not. We were dropped with no notice and our appointment slot was given away. It's extremely difficult to find a child therapist right now and I am shocked to have been discharged this way. The cost of service increased with no notice. My child was being seen weekly and this became a significant expense as her therapist was one in the building that doesn't accept insurance. I saw no progress in my child's symptoms. I was continuing the appointments believing that perhaps my child felt some benefit from at least having someone other than her parents to talk to about issues. I'm realizing being discharged was actually to our benefit since the service was ineffective, expensive and poor at scheduling. I know it's desperate out there right now for those of us needing a therapist. If you're considering Firefly, beware.

I was so excited when I got a call to schedule, and the entire experience was efficient and so very thoughtful. Dr. Arnold managed to find appointments for me super quickly (to take advantage of my mom being in town visiting) and speaking with her about the things that I struggled with felt like home -- for the first time in my entire life, somebody saw me and understood me and validated my experiences. After having such a profound experience in my assessment interviews, I was quite literally a wreck when my string of assessment appointments came to an end; but Dr. Arnold found time to keep seeing me for therapy. She is wicked intelligent, easy to talk to, and wonderful at fostering true acceptance for all the neurospicy traits that I have. 1000/10, completely recommended with no hesitation. Michael and Cynthia were a HUGE factor in helping me learn more about myself, believing in my good traits and finding areas I could improve upon. I've discovered that typical things we employ (self-help books, talking to friends, etc.) sometimes have their limits. I only wished I would have seen these limits sooner and have taken advantage of the experience that New Leaves Clinic provides. I've walked away with excellent tools: ones that I still use to this day in the course of trying to be a good person...

Did a neuropsych assessment for our child. 3 visits in March. Finished the review 8 months later…read morein the fall - after everyone returned from summer break!!! Just called to ask about treatment for another child. The person answering the phone said we could be waitlisted for an intake, and after the intake, they would see if they could provide therapy. We already have a diagnosis and they refused to say whether they had someone who could actually provide the therapy. They insisted we would need to pay privately for intake testing (for the purposes of therapy first). Not impressed.

PEDIATRIC NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION…read more BUYER BEWARE. You will be waitlisted for weeks to months. Before ever meeting with a person you will be expected to pay the full cost of the evaluation. Make sure to ask what tests will be given and what data will be provided. We did not due this and were surprised, in a non-positive way, that the only test data included was that which the advisor of the student assessor, who actually administered the tests to our child, thought to be relevant to her method of diagnosis. The licensed advisor was never present during any of the evaluation or testing times but instead "discussed" what went on during the sessions with the student assessor at a later time. Individual test results and data are not summarized. The report is about 8 pages long mostly consisting of summarized background health data. There is about 3/4 or a paged called "Interpretation of Results" where not actual test or data is referred back. This gives an overall opinion and diagnosis based primarily on observation and very little on actual test results or data. This is from collaboration with an advisor after the fact (remember of a Pacific University student with limited or no previous experience). Overall you could get this at a fraction of the cost by going to a psychologist. If you want data or any type of customer service then this is not the place. The student evaluator had a extension at the clinic which she ONLY checked if she happened to be in the clinic that day. We were specifically told by the advising psychologist that there is no number at which to reach her. We could leave a message with the director or office staff and they would pass it along. We were also told by the advising psychologist that she did not have any appointment time available for a follow-up meeting in person to review our report (which was not complete or even available to see when we met for our closing session WEEKS after testing was finished). Don't be fooled when they say "we're available" in the introductory interview.

First, I have to say I'm shocked at the negative reviews. I originally was treated by Dr…read more Pienczkowski prior his move to his private practice location. I was new to the world of therapy, but felt 100% concerned and cared about. After he left, I stopped going to the office. When I (mentally) realized I still need help, I went in search of his new location because his prior group gave me the 'I don't know where he went', which I thought was BS and their way of trying to make me see someone new in their office. No thanks. Upon seeing Dr. Pienczkowski, he again made me feel comfortable and safe, which is hard for a person like me who is used to helping others not having people help me. He is always very straight forward and concerned with my progress. So these horrible reviews are truly shocking. I give the Dr 5 stars, but only put 4 stars because the receptionist is not the most responsive. IE this week, I called in the early am and then again in the pm on Monday to discuss rescheduling my apt (due to work mtg), I didn't get a reply so I told my boss I would have to miss meeting. She called me mid-am Tuesday (day of apt) and said she canceled my apt, after I tried to say I didn't hear from her so I would keep the apt (so no cancel fee). She did put me in to see Dr two days later, so all worked out. Again, reading the horrible reviews is truly shocking. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but (again) being someone not comfortable with the idea of 'therapy'...I would refer him to every and any friend, family or co-worker.
