I legitimately feel scammed by these people!!! So my employer was switching Insurance providers, I was planning on waving it and just using my wife's because I didn't want to drive all the way to tricities to see someone. Anyways I called beforehand and they assured me they took my new insurance, so I went ahead and got on my company's insurance. When the day came for my appointment it turns out the only could bill me for the exam, and some other test that I never asked for. Then when we came to see glasses they told me my insurance covered nothing. I over all feel frustrated and lied to. Why not just tell me that from the go, maybe I can go somewhere where I can get my exam and glasses all in one. Im still shaking my head! Please beware! I had called ahead of time to see if they accepted my insurance, and what would be my estimate out of pocket. They said It should just be the copay. On the day of service, I handed over my insurance card, and again asked what to expect out of pocket. The front desk lady said there shouldnt be anything but a copay. Usually mine is $35. After my appointment was finished and exam completed, I go to leave, and they call me back up to go over my bill. The Bill was $331, and was apparently out of pocket. This should have been for-seen before the appointment, and had been communicated BEFORE I was asked to go back for the exam. I am now left with the $331 bill, with no wiggle room. I would not recommend them at all. They are not willing to work with you. They also dropped the VSP on 6/30, my appointment date was 7/09/25. Not happy being stuck with a bill that was not communicated ahead of time. I would not have proceeded with this vision company if I knew they would not have accepted my VSP plan. read more

I called beforehand to set up my appointment and spoke to a receptionist at the location. I specifically asked if my insurance would fully cover the appointment or if I would have to pay anything (copay or extra) the day of for my appointment and was told NO, my insurance would cover everything so I would not have to pay out of pocket for the appointment. Today, after my appointment I was told that I owed OVER $100 that day in appointment fees. After voicing my frustration at the situation, the worker helping me proceeded to REPEATEDLY tell me that it was my fault for not fully knowing my insurance policy and not the fault of the person working there that gave me the incorrect information (I do acknowledge that I should have known my full insurance policy beforehand, but was actively given incorrect information and then repeatedly told that it was my fault and not the person who falsely told me I would have no appointment cost.) After informing them that I would have to wait for my check this week to be able to pay the appointment, they told me that there is ALSO a 25% service fee added on if I didn't pay the amount that day. Truthfully, this was handled very unprofessionally and feels like workers are either very incompetent or knowingly scamming people because the situation from beginning to end was handled horridly, and I will NOT ever be returning here which is unfortunate because for the majority of my experience the rest of the staff was kind and helpful, but this situation is ridiculous and not okay. read more

So I went to the optometrist and ordered TWO pairs of glasses & paid $400 that day. I called them when my purse was stolen to explain the situation why I couldn't come in and pay the remaining few hundred and they said ok. I called AGAIN to let them know that the card I ordered still had not arrived and I had to order yet another card and they told me over the phone they had returned the frames. The n they sent me a $300 bill to pay and when I called to pick up the glasses they said that I wasn't getting glasses, they WILL NOT make the glasses. Whatever the nasty lady's name is I don't know, I just know she was Nasty and hung up on me after she yelled some more that they were NOT GOING TO GIVE ME GLASSES. IF I could give this business a negative 1000, I would. I had been going to Affordable Family Eyewear for a very long time. I had changed because I had heard a lot of verry good things about Lifetime Vision. Receptionists are awesome...The eye doctor himself, very professional and thorough. BUT, when it came to talking to Anthony, to pick out and get my new glasses, it became an instant and long term nightmare. He put me into progressive lenses, according to the script and whatever else they do. Maybe the eye doctor is the one who determines whether a patient needs progressive or not. At this point, after several phone calls and drives back to their place of business, I am back home, wearing a pair of old single lens glasses and doing just fine with them. When I was there this morning to try and work out a solution to this challenge with Anthony, all he wanted to do was take the progressives and turn the lenses into single vision...BUT...he won't give me a new frame choice, and he refuses to refund my money for the frames and lenses. Now, I am stuck with a pair of glasses that cost me $274.00 (approximately). That hurts my budget so BAD being elderly/disable/social security limited income. Oh, and by the way, the other glasses I am wearing now, no issues and the frame is smaller...so, PLEASE, take note of this review and DON'T frequent this establishment for anything more than an eye exam IF they take your insurance. This location will charge you $40.00 for a medically unnecessary exam called an Optomap. They will not see you for your yearly exam if you refuse this exam. Your medical insurance won't cover this exam. They will tell you its like getting an X-ray at your dentist. Guess What lifetime vision your dental insurance will cover an X-ray of your teeth. Dr Kollan Arritt refused to see me after I refused to take this exam. They will lie to you from the front desk all the way to billing. Don't go here stay away. read more

I unfortunately didn't have a mask and have no cash on hand I was refused until I could buy one of theirs for $1. 28 weeks pregnant and I definitely don't have the kind of interest in running around trying to find one. Then as I filled out my paperwork they gave 2 customers masks free of charge after me. My fiancé was digging through the car and found an old icky mask from a previous OB appointment. Don't waste your time or your money here. Although Dr. Arritt is a great doctor, I would love to see him without the attachment of the sales floor staff I won't continue my family's eye care here. The prices are outrageous and the sales floor staff are hard core salesman with little knowledge of what they are doing or saying. All they are interested in is the money and not patient care. They are kind of rude and clueless. Me asking for itemized copies so I could see what I was being charged for seemed to really piss them off. But I would like to know exactly what I'm being gouged for. When it comes time for future appointments I will find another provider. read more

Don't patronize these overpriced thieves. They take advantage of senior citizens. When I was referred there for a diabetic eye exam I asked if my exam was covered by my social security and they said yes, "no problem". Then upon checking out they told me there's a $80.00 co-pay. When I asked why I wasn't told before the exam they mumbled some BS apology and demanded payment which I gave them. 2 weeks later i get another bill for a additional $60.00 which I said no to. A few months later they added a $60.00 interest charge to the $60.00 BS charge and sent to collections. Patronize at your own risk. read more

The customer service is good. The hours are great. The prices are comparable. The doctors attentive and friendly. The only issue we've encountered is follow up. In the separate instances with two different family members, we told the technicians the glasses and contacts were blurry at the onset. Each time we were told they had to be worn 2-4 weeks before our eyes would adapt. Each time we've called back to say still blurry. Each time were told they can book another appointment but we have to pay out of pocket. I was so upset the first time it happened, I went to another eye doctor and paid out of pocket. Sure enough, different prescription. This most recent time this happened, my child told them the glasses were blurty in one eye when we picked them up. We were told we had to wear them for two weeks to get used to them. Did that. Called after two weeks and was told to try them a little longer. Did that. Called after 3 weeks and told to come back in. We DID that. The tech checks the glasses and says "Oh, there's no reason not to see out of that eye." My response was, well they can't see well out of that eye so what's the fix? You guessed it, pay for an appointment out of pocket. Now, my child has to wear glasses without being able to see well out if one eye AND the tech scratched the glasses. I'm so upset, I'm contemplating leaving the practice after more than a decade. read more

I have insurance and this is the only place in a 30 mile radius that accepts it, that being said and no reliable transportation, I was a bit stuck going here. I took in my deductible sheet for my insurance, was quoted a price, I asked for standard progressive, they said ok, but come to find out they don't do standard anything (more $$), so I get a call and get a new price to pay, after I had already paid half of what I was told, I go and pick up my glasses and they were wrong and had to be sent back. I went two weeks later and no mention of a new total. I get a bill in the mail for an additional amount. I disputed, I complained, I complained to the AG, I then get a certified letter stating that I and my family had 30 days to find another provider. I complained to the Better Business Bureau. I was then threatened with collections since I am still disputing the additional amount. apparently they don't care about customer relations as long as they get their money. I just recently got another collections threat even though I am paying the amount disputed. read more

As a working mother of 8 children one of the more important factors for me with any business is the flexibility. This has always been difficult for any doctors offices that usually only let you make 2 appointments at a time. It is easier for me to take one afternoon off work to get ALL of my kids to be seen at once then multiple afternoons....I was extremely grateful that Lifetime Vision was willing to bring multiple children in at a time. The staff is extremely personable and friendly. Kem Drotzmann went out of her way to check in on us in the waiting room, and one afternoon, when extremely busy and I had to wait a little longer she called me at home that evening to apologize. Dr. Drotzmann is thorough and ethical!!! He will not recommend anything unnecessary and make sure you are fully informed and educated about what is going on with your eyes. He also talked directly to my children, and directed the questions to them having them included in all aspects of the eye exams, and showing them the images of their eyes and teaching them the different parts of the eyes. It made their appointments fun and educational. We are new to the area and thankful that we found a great place for our families eye care! read more

My experience began in October 2013 when I was injured at work. I was referred to Dr. Drotzmann who examined my eyes for injury and found nothing that my regular doctor hadn't already seen. He prescribed me a different drop than what my regular doctor had prescribed. Two months later, I needed to see him again because a lens in my eye was coming loose - I had a lens implant in my eyes years ago after I lost my sight to help me regain some vision, and I thought Dr. Drotzmann could help me. Unfortunately the visit lasted some 3 hours and in that time, the aids were impatient and at one point even stated that doing a procedure was pointless, even though she wasn't taking care to get it done properly to begin with. Dr. Drotzmann refused to listen to me when I told him my symptoms, and all but accused me of trying to fake a worker's compensation claim and said I was suffering from Diabetic Macular Degeneration, which since I don't have Diabetes is impossible. In fact, they went as far as to call over to an ophthalmologist's office - the same one they referred me to - and prejudiced them from even wanting to try and help me, after I left Drotzmann's office. Additionally, less than 10 minutes later, they called me on my phone saying they had called Worker's Compensation and talked to my case manager about my claim and that it had been denied based on the exam that day. I called the next day and talked to my claim manager at W.C., who said that she had not even been in the office the day before and that they had not received any phone calls or bills; no communication from Drotzmann's office at all and that they had not denied anything. After that, I called Drotzmann's office back and told them what W.C. had said to me and they backtracked and said that they had only left W.C. a message. The following day, I saw a retinal specialist, who in a matter of a few minutes was able to see and diagnose that my lens implant had come lose and that it was a direct result of the accident at work I had suffered two months earlier. Had Drotzmann done his job properly from the start and taken note of the ultrasound he had done back in December, he would have seen that the lens implant had been torn loose and that it could only have been done by the accident at work. read more

If you're looking for honesty and dependability look elsewhere. I had an eye appointment on 10/5, selected a pair of frames, paid my out of pocket costs and assumed I'd wait the normal length of business days to receive a phone call that my glasses were ready. To my surprise I received a call but it wasn't to let me know my glasses were ready for pick up, I was told that the lab had broken my frames and the frames I selected were currently on back order. The options they gave me were slim, I could either wait till they were in stock or select another pair of frames but would have to wait another 10-14 business days to have the lab create new lenses. I was advised that a call would be made to a rep to see if the frames could arrive any sooner. I asked if I could take my prescription elsewhere (Lenscrafters) because their office offers same day pick up and I was told that IF I took my prescription somewhere else I would have to pay out of pocket for the lenses since my insurance was already billed and they have already paid. So because of an error that was no fault of my own I would have to incur an additional expense if I did not want to wait. (But wait, if I could pick a new pair of frames wouldn't the lab have to create new lenses anyways) Several days later, my husband follow up with the office to see if anyone has heard from the rep. No response. Today, I follow up to see if anyone from the office has heard from the rep. Again, no response. My options are laid out for me again. I could 1. Select a new pair of frames and have the lab create new lenses and they would submit a lab error correction so my insurance is not billed twice and I don't pay additional out of pocket. 2. Wait till the frame is re-stocked (come to find out no calls were ever made) 3. Reimburse my insurance and what I was paid out of pocket and take my prescription elsewhere. Option 3 was not offered until the end of the conversation, apparently it takes more work and hassle on their end so it wasn't their first option. (Shouldn't you do what's best for your patient) I spoke to a couple of people and requested to speak to someone who could resolve the issue today, a supervisor, office manager, didn't get her (Kim) Apparently, she was too busy to speak to an upset patient. Although, I did get the issue resolved it was a headache, a pain, I felt jerked around, lied to and felt that my issue was not of any importance to them. Dr. Arritt is amazing, will miss him but the staff and the way they handle customer issues needs some vast improvement. read more

The building is new and nice and the receptionist was friendly but that's about where my good experience ends. When I called to make my appointment I had an exceptionally long wait. I was transferred and the second person acted like she didn't know my call was coming and gave me their whole script again. My exam was okay. No different from anyplace else I've ever been. It was very cattle call and impersonal. The part where they do the puff of air in your eye was done in a hallway. Not very private. You would think they could do it in a room. There are two doctors available. I saw the older guy. He acted extremely arrogant and was in a big hurry. I guess he needs to see a lot of patients to pay for that new building. I looked at glasses but didn't buy anything. The prices were really high. I found a better deal at another place. read more
