Wendy seems like a kind person, but yet another area Dr that is taking on more work than can be…read morehandled properly. I went to see her for a follow up on my cataract surgery. She advised how well my eyes were doing etc etc, even after I advised her that I had had to stop my car in traffic from excessive blinding light ( even in cataract surgery sunglasses and that all was well. Several times during the visit she called me AMY and made corrections/adjustments to the file in front of her. Long story short as I was walking to my car I looked at the paper she had given me and it said Amy Reuter where the name was. After I went back into the office it was determined that she had Amy's paperwork on top of mine and used that to examine my newly surgeried eyes. I'm still having issues from severe light blindness and PTSD from waking up during the procedure on my first eye. Come to find out that day, the surgeon who operated on my eyes didn't even have his paperwork right in his system as to which eye he had done on which day. Sorry but nothing about this experience from day one was reassuring or handled properly. Nice lady, but I won't go back and would not recommend. Like all Drs, trying to see wayyyy to many patients in to short of a time frame. instead of helping, the mistakes and oversights made are causing anxiety.... it did for me.

in the last week-Edit Watch out for manipulative sales…read moretactics intended to get you to spend the maximum amount. Had a sales person tell me that if I didn't get the massively more expensive tech vue (HD) lenses I would have "no peripheral vision" when I wanted to chose the less expensive lens so I could get Transition lenses (which is what I was getting new glasses for in the first place). When I said I couldn't afford both, she suggested I use a credit card. I had really only wanted to get my prescription and shop around, including on-line options. When it looked like I was going to walk, she suddenly decided the cheaper progressive lenses would be OK and acted like she'd done me a big favor by finding a way I could get what I wanted. She told me since the optometrist had already run my benefits for the eye exam, the glasses portion could be tied up for 6 weeks if I didn't use them there. I relented but regretted it the next day when I discovered that I could get the HD lenses and the chromatics (Transitions) for about half the price at Costco. Called to cancel and was told that, even though it was going to take 2 weeks (!) to get my glasses, it was too late to cancel because they were already working on them. Luxotica owns nearly everything in the eyeglass world but that doesn't mean there aren't cheaper ways to get their products. The sales staff depend on consumer ignorance and pretend to have expertise that is nothing more than sales tactics. When you think of it, selling a lense that gives the wearer "no peripheral vision" would be dangerous, would it not? I will never be back there. They are also forbidden to tell you your pupillary distance measurement under penalty of firing - can't have you taking that information and going to Zenni Optical now, can they?

Although Sears Optical does not handle repairs of eyeglasses other than those prescribed and…read morepurchased at Sears, Kim at this location was very helpful in attempting to fix my frames which I had inadvertently sat on and mangled. The repair only lasted a few hours unfortunately, but not for lack of a warm and courteous demeanor that Kim displayed when I showed up with my damaged eyeglasses. Now if Sears would only fix any and all eyeglasses, or even if the courtesy repair (she didn't charge me for the temporary fix) had lasted at least a day or 2, I'd definitely rate them 5 stars.
