I came in for a TB test for employment. When I called the day before around 5:30pm, the receptionist abruptly told me they were closed when I just had a general question. When I came in the next day, I realized it was the same person. Her demeanor felt dismissive, like she wasn't interested in helping patients. The only time I heard her use a pleasant tone was when she was speaking with a coworker. There was also a mistake with my status as a patient. I didn't know that after two years you're considered a new patient. Instead of politely explaining, she said, "I asked you if you were a new patient," which came off curt. On top of that, I stood at the desk for about 45 seconds before she looked up from her phone to take my paperwork. On the positive side, the medical assistant who did my TB test was very helpful and friendly, and my wait time was short. Originally I thought about giving 4 stars, but since your first point of contact is the front desk, I feel 3 stars is more accurate. read more

I called here looking for urgent care who accepts Medi-Cal! I'm new to the system and didn't realize that Lifelong was outside my network however they did accept me as a Medi-Cal patient. The doctor I saw was extremely nice very informative very helpful was able to provide some test immediately on site and some had to get sent out waiting for results but overall the care I received here was good.! read more

MRI scheduling phones are not answered all day. Hard to make an appointment for an MRI. I tried for a week straight. One time i was able to get thru and she gave me a link to upload the Neurology Petscan referral. No one called to schedule. After 2 weeks of trying to schedule with Norcal Walnut Creek, I realized that since I have a PPO I was able to schedule with John Muir MRI team within 5 minutes. Having the referral in mychart JohnMuir was able to see the referral instantly. read more

Went there today, I've had a sore throat for about two months caused (I assumed) by a tooth that's been bleeding for months. Front office guy was very cool and helpful and polite, took me awhile to convince them it wasn't a cold or flue Dr. Chin was insultingly cold and uncaring, asked me a bunch of questions while looking at his computer, then looked at my tooth for about 15 seconds then said he would give me penicilin, I said "can you look at my throat" and I swear he looked for less than five seconds and said "it's ok". Then I asked him a bunch of questions but it was hopeless because I could only hear about half the words through his mask. However I will say the opposite of this is true at the regular LL place in DT Oakland, wonderful front staff, nurses, and doctors. Last doctor visit was about an hour long. read more

I've gone to them a few times, and each time I was treated really poorly by at least one of the members of the staff. The last time I went left such a bad taste in my mouth I don't feel comfortable going anymore, so I drive to other counties to seek help instead. From my experience, the women at the front desk are always unprofessional and rude and have a lot of attitude. The way they speak to patients is as if we are inconveniencing them by coming in. For me, this could be overlooked if the treatment I received was great, but it's been mediocre to very poor. The nurses have always been the best part of my experiences. Kind, attentive, and professional. Thanks nurses! The visits with the doctors have been very mediocre at best, until my last visit, which was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. It was an appointment with a male doctor and he was the most arrogant doctor I've ever met. From the moment he came into the room to the moment he left, the way that he spoke to and treated both myself and the nurse was full of arrogance, impatience and disrespect. To top things off, there was a point during my appointment when I had to take my bottoms off, which felt very vulnerable and uncomfortable for me to begin with. But being treated with that type of attitude while standing there half naked made things so much worse. I hope things have gotten better, but I don't want to go back ever again. read more

Went there with a family member for follow up care from an Alta Bates Sutter ER in Oakland. This is one of the very few Urgent Care clinics that will see you with Fee For Service MediCal. Alta Bates Sutter Urgent Care referred us here since my family member had not yet transitioned to a managed care plan in MediCal. Everyone from the receptionist, the nurse, and Dr. Chin who attended to us were courteous, kind, patient, and professional. As many of you already know, ER advice and treatment can be less than adequate. We were put on the right course at Lifelong Urgent Care on everything from simple wound care and bandaging to getting a referral to a Primary Care Physician so my family member can appropriately transition from Fee For Service to managed care MediCal. Thank you all for putting us at ease, treating my family member well, and helping us navigate the health care system. One suggestion, try to process prescriptions a little more quickly when you can, as opposed to waiting until you have a handful to send out. You guys are great and I will recommend you in a heartbeat to anyone that needs professional urgent care. Thanks again! read more

I did an X-RAY today. I was already in pain, and the lady who did it to me had no personality at all, and she was kind of rude! No hello, goodbye or get well soon. Worst experience of my life in a medical office. This was my first visit, I was never checked by Dr Judi Wrong, who just sat down to tell me she was in a hurry and only asked about my history and shrugged with complete disregard why I was there. She sarcastically wrote wrong medication I never took, and wrote diagnosis notes on my profile I never told her about! Sweeps you out of the office like she needs to see one hundred more patients! Negligent in regards to physical assessment. Zero compassion. Wrong notes about diagnosis and medication. read more

They are under staffed, and I've waited hours just to get seen. Most recently they made me wait for an 1hr in a patient's room before turning me away, this is incompetence and failure of a system. There maybe reasons, but overall, when doctors turn patients away and are unwilling to see patients, that smells of something rotten. I would never return. read more

My sister and I arrived a little before 4pm today, my sister got a quick covid screening by a reception person and was told to go back to the waiting area. Shortly after that, she came back out and told me that she couldn't be seen today, they "stopped seeing patients for the day." Open hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Saturday. That's all it says on the website. It does NOT say, "open hours are 9am to 5pm except for certain days when we decide to close early at 4pm." One simple request: Tell it straight at your website and stop fooling people into thinking you're open when you're not. We don't live down the street and had to drive a ways to get there. read more

This is the most unprofessional, rude medical facility in have ever been to. From the front desk person, to the nurse, to the doctor, all rude. They aren't seeing anyone with symptoms remotely related to COVID. Even if you assured them your illness isn't covid related. They reccomend going to urgent cares miles away in San Pablo and Richmond which is not realistic for those without car transportation. Very dissatisfied. read more

I came here because I recently switched to a PPO and it was in my neighborhood - and I wanted urgent care. It was a weekday and not many people there, but it took 3 hours to see a doctor and get an X-ray. The TVs in the waiting room are loud and play terrible programs. The wifi didn't work on my phone, and there's no reception. It was a long wait. However, everyone I spoke to was very nice, and they were helping people figure out what their cheapest options were for services. I know this places takes Medical, but if your insurance allows you to go elsewhere, I recommend going elsewhere. read more

Not a great experience. Dr. Chin was very cold and condescending. I felt guilty for coming in to try to make myself feel better. He did not seem to care about my well being and questioned everything I brought up about why I thought I may be sick. I would absolutely never see him again. The receptionist was professional and did a good job considering she was the only one handling many patients. I waited about 30 minutes. Even though I haven't been back in many years, I felt the need to leave a review because of some difficult experiences. I have been to Lifelong Urgent Care several times and twice for help with a painful abscess. The front desk and nurse staff are always kind, courteous and respectful. But the doctors are another story. It always felt like my visits were a huge inconvenience. Once, Dr. Chin walked in and immediately asked if "I shoot drugs." He examined me roughly and dismissively, even when I had to remove my trousers, and complained about needing a chaperone in the room which made me feel uncomfortable. On another occasion, the doctor lanced the abscess with no anesthesia or warning after I got situated on the table. When I asked to take a breath because of the pain, she told me "If I don't do this now, I'll leave and have to come back later." I was lying on a table with just a sheet so obviously I didn't want to sit there waiting. When finished, she gave me some tissues to clean myself up and I stood up to find a very bloody mess. It was disorienting. Anyway, be careful and advocate for yourself if you go there. read more

I just wanted to say I love this place and I love the staff. They are so friendly here and get you the help you need and are willing to work with you. I remember I was having a ton of problems and came here when I had nothing and broke down crying and my nurse gave me a hug and kept telling me that I would be ok. Never have I had a dr or nurse care like that for me and I truly felt better just by that. They to me go above and beyond and I thank them for that. What a nightmare from the start. Worst part was being the MD prescipded the wrong medication then wanted me to come in again for another $145 to be reassed as opposed to simply calling in the correct meds. Way to ring up the bills MD. The front office staff has not a clue about the medical field nor could they careless.They make it clear they are in no hurry to help you regardeless of how sick you may be. They do not open at 10:00 am BTW, They opened almost 30 minutes late. This place just adds the countries medical problem as opposed to giving good care and being part of a healthy medical system. We are new to Medi-cal, and expected to wait for hours, but we were taken in, processed, and treated by these three exceptionally kind providers... In one hour and 12 minutes. My parking meter hadn't even expired. I am so grateful my student daughter has safe, clean, well lit and compassionately staffed facility for her school week ailments. Had a great experience at this clinic! My ears were clogged and I hadn't been able to hear for a week. The first urgent care clinic I visited (John Muir) misdiagnosed an ear infection and prescribed ciprodex. A tiny vial of ear drops costs 300$! Luckily I couldn't pay that. I went to Lifelong and the very kindly doctor had his assistant wash out my ears with peroxide solution using a clever device called an "elephant". With the gunk out I could hear perfectly again. There was no infection. Everyone I encountered at Lifelong was very kind, patient & competent. Highly recommend them! read more

I found this facility very unprofessional, and discriminatory against patients and fellow employees. one situation i was walking into the entrance doors of the Sutter building on Dwight as i was walking down the hallway heard a womens yelling, but angerly. As I entered the clinic I had come upon a curly haired shorter women speaking very loudly behind the desk in a unrecognizable language. she was speaking to an elderly lady sitting in the farthest seat in the corner. then I stood there and she at first didn't even act like I was there, then proceeded to walk away with me still standing there. I waited. then I was starting to think she had forgotten. I kinda leaned over the fron desk and tried to see someone to help me. then a front desk lady came and was quite rude stating that she "was trying to eat lunch, why cant anyone do there job around here", then she smiled and greeted me nicely. as I was in the room waiting I asked them to keep ther door open due to it being extremely hot in there for Jan. during this I over heard them in English now, making fun of this elderly lady and how she is always here for the same thing and they wished they could refuse some patients.. frankly I was astonished, me working in the medical field also and knowing how sick people can be, I would never even think these people could think that. then I was seen by a great Dr. Chan and given some antibiotic Rx and said I would live threw this one! it was a joke the doctor and I had made during the visit. on my discharge a heavy set Hispanic man burst pen the door without knocking and said " ok the doc is done with you here is your stuff" as he turned away to walk out I said "ok thanks and no instructions for at home. I can take this without food or no?" he mumbled as he walked out " the doctor already went over everything with you didn't he?" I was so done by this point I said yes he did thanks. and left. I can't say enough about this place! My elderly mother who lives in Berkeley, recently visited this lifelong Urgent Care. She doesn't speak English. She was helped by one of the nice nurses there who spoke her language! I was thankful that she was there and they were able to care for her and even took the time to call her main clinic to make her a follow up appointment. I have been a patient here for about 6+ years now and have been very satisfied with the care I have received. There are really amazing physicians and staff who work at Lifelong, and they offer a variety of services from Accupuncture, naturopathic MD's, to yoga classes, and referral services, to midwives and even mental health help. I love my midwife/obgyn she is amazing, her name is Kim Cardoso and I highly recommend her for all your female health needs. They have same day appointments and urgent care services as well. I am a happy patient of Lifelong and I love their new Robert's campus facility. The front desk staff and medical assistants are always helpful and friendly. Terrible experience here. I arrived at 5:42pm after being told repeatedly that I could be seen as long as I arrived by 5:45pm. When I walked in, the receptionist laughed at me when I told her I had rushed from work and had been assured I could be seen. When she continued to laugh, I firmly said "it's not funny, I am in a lot of pain" and she giggled again. Another woman came out to tell me that they wouldn't be seeing any more patients, without explanation. I don't understand how this could ever be considered good patient care. I was in tears from confusion and pain as I left. I went straight to Direct Urgent Care on Telegraph and had a great experience. Respectful, kind, and competent. Been here once before and being that it was my first time here I needed to write a review. The urgent care is located on the first floor of the Herrick Hospital. The by area is a decent size and the receptionist was friendly. Since I was there as soon as it it opened I was seen rather quickly. The inside of the clinic is really nice and really new. I was seen by a nurse who was quick to ask questions and take my vitals. I waited for the doctor less than 10 minutes (but keep in mind I was the only there). The doctor wasn't all that friendly but she did listen to what I have to say and what my symptoms worse. She told me that based on the symptoms that I was having that I needed to go to an emergency room (Alta Bates less than 5 minutes away) because I needed to get a CAT scan done which she wasn't able to do at the urgent care clinic. She reached out to a doctor at Alta Bates and was seen quicker there because she referred me there. Overall a good experience and would come back if need be but of course not planning on it. read more
