Lifetime Fitness in Edina is a state of the art gym and lifestyle establishment. It truly has everything you need: hundreds of cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, stretching areas, recovery area, fitness studios, group classes, kids academy (daycare while you workout), indoor pools, indoor hot tubs, steam room, saunas, showers, sushi restaurant, grab and go cafe, salon, and lounges with couches and tables to get some work done. Most impressive of all: the rooftop pools, bar and restaurant. It's truly one of the highlights of the city in my mind. Relax in one of the hundreds of lawn chairs, or grab lunch with a friend in the table area. Enjoy poolside service right at your lawn chair or even directly from the pool. Everything at the whole gym is kept impeccably clean and up to date. I recommend Lifetime Edina wholeheartedly. read more

Completely overpriced gym. I came here just for the use of daycare. It was convenient to work out for me as a busy mom. There are additional classes for kids like swimming but you have to pay extra. I think our family membership was $500 a month for 2 parents and 2 kids. That's very costly, at least for us. I hosted my son's birthday and all they did was give us a basketball court for $325 for 2 hours. I expected more than just a basketball court and 2 boxes of pizza, missed to deliver one more. The description said that 2 qualified trainers will play games with the kids which they didn't. I was just disappointed with the birthday event I hosted for my 6 year old . You are better off getting a peloton app membership and exercising at home. read more

Spent the day here last week. First I got my nails done and then went upstairs to workout. Parking was easy and convenient, I had great customer service, and the facility was clean and well maintained. They had lots of cool workout equipment that I have never seen before. I am not a member yet, but I am definitely considering becoming one! read more

Lifetime Fitness (Southdale) Review I like the bar at Lifetime Fitness Southdale--interesting people come here. Since many people who focus on their bodies don't drink, I was curious about their "one drink at a time" rule. Turns out, there's an exception--if you order a chaser, you can have 8 oz of beer instead of a full 16 oz pint... for the same price. When I arrived, I ordered: * A glass of tepid water * A Jameson whiskey * A Guinness The bartender, who I know was hired with no prior experience and little training, served me a full pint of Guinness and then left for several minutes to handle something at the register. Meanwhile, I was getting thirsty. Beer doesn't quench thirst, so with a dry mouth, barely able to form words, I asked again for my water. She kindly brought it over. After I finally wetted my whistle, I asked about my Jameson. She told me I couldn't have it because I already had one drink. I asked if they served boilermakers. She said no. I asked if I could get a chaser with my shot. She said sure. Then she took my full Guinness, poured 8 oz into a glass, and dumped the rest down the drain. I tried to stop her, saying she should drink it herself or that I'd buy another chaser since my friend was joining me. But nope--she dumped it anyway. Now, onto my actual reason for coming to Lifetime in the first place--I was meeting a friend. When I checked in, I informed the man at the front desk that my friend would be coming to meet me and that she is autistic, so they should watch out for her when she arrived. He agreed. Yet when she showed up, she was told she couldn't come in because it was members only. Fair enough. But the real issue? She felt scared and uncomfortable because of their loud, stern voices. If I let them know in advance that she was coming and even gave them a heads-up about her needs, you'd think they'd handle the situation a little more professionally instead of making her feel unwelcome and anxious. So, here's my verdict: * If you're picky about service or don't like paying extra for chasers, you might want to avoid the bar. * If you're looking for good sushi, the salmon sashimi is well-priced and hits the spot. * If you're expecting considerate customer service, don't count on it. For a high-end gym that prides itself on service, this visit was disappointing. read more

Customer service. I am a DAV and member for 24 years. I spoke with the Club Manager, Shawn Severson who assured me that a summer internship position was available for my Senior College Student. After numerous meetings, with him and his Rooftop Deck Team, Kalie and others (you would have thought that he was interviewing for a CEO position at Duetche Bank) his subordinates sent an email saying "sorry, no positions available." Then after discussing a cousin visiting from Boston, he wouldn't admit him to the rooftop deck. Horrendously terrible, indifferent customer service. No care for ling-time members, whatsoever. I came in with an easy inquiry about reservations being down on the Lifetime Digital app and the young black gal at the desk was very rude and short stating there was no issue with the app. Another gal behind the desk chimed in that you were experiencing issues with the app and she would assist with any reservation questions I had. The first gal threw up her hand in the second gals face and told her to be quiet that she would do it! I was utterly SHOCKED at how rude she was to not only me, a member, but also to other employees. At that point, I didn't want any help and just went to the class I had scheduled, although I did have trouble finding it not knowing which studio it was located in, which wouldn't have been an issue if there was not so much hostility given by your front desk gal!!!! read more

I was in Minneapolis this past weekend for a Professional Bodybuilding competition and visited the facilities. I was blown away with the customer service and front desk assistance I received. Even on the weight floor everyone was professional and respectful. Once the competition was over whi h I place 2nd. I returned to the gym to thank the front desk attendants and took a pic. The girl at the desk tonight was extremely rude. I am a diamond member at another location and my husband and I wanted to check out this facility tonight. We went in and asked just to see the facilities and she denied us. I asked for a supervisor and she refused to get me to anyone. Very rude. She said the only way she would let us in is if we upgraded or paid the daily fee. Based on her attitude, we have no reason to upgrade and go to this location. We are not supporting a location with rude staff! I would like to talk to the member services manager as soon as possible as this was extremely uncalled for. I'm also going to speak to the manager I know at my diamond location and mentioning that this location has terrible staff at the front desk. read more

Sure this place costs 10 times more than LA Fitness - it's easily 100 times better... worth it : ) This club is spotless at all times - The GM works out with a handheld vacuum - as he moves from machine to machine HE CLEANS!! ... AND, as far as I can tell, he has memorized every member's name (I've witnessed him saying hello, by name, to hundreds of people) The pride of workmanship at this club is stellar. Bahram (the owner's) influence is evident throughout this club - it's clean, it's luxurious, the classes aren't too crowded or too empty, the machines are all top of the line, the amenities are great - this club even has a sushi restaurant!! everything is great! read more

I'm a diamond member and workout every single day, I used to go to Lifetime Edina to get my workout in considering I only live 5 minutes away. I chose to stop going there after I noticed that the staff seemingly obviously only say hello and goodbye to white people, I'm white skinned but of Asian decent, I get the staff might be busy sometimes but on multiple occasions I'll be leaving at night when only a couple others are at that same moment, why is it that they are wished a good night and I'm not even acknowledged? I've had instances on the rooftop pool as well, asking staff for help and feeling rather patronized by their response. Due to all this I have since chosen to start working out at St. Louis park, they do a much better job of making you feel welcome I would definitely recommend them over lifetime Edina. Lastly, I would've rated this 0 stars but that isn't an option. read more

After receiving a message back from a person at the gym I am still no closer to wanting to drive all the back over. I am actually now even less likely. Again, I was given a number and told to call someone to arrange yet another visit. No mention was made of ensuring if others came in during the evening they would be shown a warm welcome and given at least a peek at the club. No mention was made of giving them my number so they could follow up with me. No mention made of training their team so they can accommodate potential members. No mention was made of my wasted time for driving over in a snowstorm. No mention was made of special concessions being made for my wasted time. This response makes it obvious if I did join and had an issue with some staff treatment, it would be the same. "We always treat our members well so sorry you felt this way." I really despise the response: "Sorry you felt that way." No admitting their treatment was wrong and would be changed but telling me it was basically my issue. Life Time: I would suggest signing up for sales coaching; you're still not getting it. read more
