Use this place for short term emergencies only. It's conveniently located, and the units are spacious enough. But don't leave anything there that can be ruined by humidity longer than you have to. These units are not climate-controlled, and whatever you leave in them will feel the hot and humid air of Bradenton. Yes, your stuff will be protected from direct rain, but the humid air itself will be the equivalent of rain, so protect things well if you are leaving them there longer than 60 days. And you don't want to be there longer than 60 days. These corporate predators will hike your rent soon, or find some pretext to assess a fee. For example, they keep no dumpster on the premises so they can fine anyone who leaves anything behind. And there's no discussing anything with these corporate sociopaths. They don't care. Was not always the case, but they were acquired by some real scumbags. So use them--and lose them. read more

These reviews are definitely added by Theresa, her sister and friends. Everyone that's makes there usually can find them outside @ any location chain smoking cigarettes! I have children that have to be exposed to their poor behavior. There's no reason they should be smoking directly by the doors customers use. RATES RISE EVERY MONTH!! As soon as I walked into the office I was greeted by Jon. He was very friendly and most importantly, very knowledgeable. He gave me information and I was able to reserve a storage unit. Several days later when I began to move my items, I was welcomed by another associate. I regret that I do t remember her name, but she, too, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She showed me to my storage unit and even took me outside so that I could see where I should pull my car to unload. The facility is very clean. read more

absolutely awful customer service. don the manager and theresa the associate manager are the absolute worst to deal with! it doesnt tell you online that you need a special lock only sold in store ($17) or that you will need their insurance (starts at $10) so my $84 unit ended up being $121! don's service skills are the lowest i have ever experienced! he would not take my renters insurance unless it was faxed or a hard copy and told theresa in front of my to my face to "deal with me herself because he couldn't and was going to clean units"! i tried to turn other customers away at the door before they entered to save them a major headache of dealing with these two! i can not wait to talk to don's boss who should be calling me soon! read more

When I was looking for a unit to rent, I was told by two (2) Staff Members on two occasions one the Assistant Manager, that my rate "would not go up for at least a year, maybe longer" and that "they don't do business the same way as Public Storage." Guess what; 9 months after renting there, my rate went up $20.00 per month due to "supply and demand." When I asked if it would go down when demand went down, the answer was a resounding, "No." The Staff Members are trained liars, plain and simple. They are trained to tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door. Buyer beware: DO NOT RENT AT LIFE STORAGE. Can I just say, no? Go someplace else? Okay, I've said it. This used to be called Uncle Bob's; we've used it for years, and recommended it to all our friends who either have kids going to school in the area that need storage for their gear during the summer, or who come regularly and just want to store some clothing etc. There used to be several hand carts. You used to be able to find them. Over the past year - maybe since it was taken over by Life Storage? - there've been less and less hand carts. No one on staff seems to care, or be willing to find them. There are four or five separate buildings. The other morning my family and I combed through EVERY building on the lot, trying to find a cart or ANYTHING we could use to move our things from the car to our storage locker. Nothing. Complained to the front desk (who was finally there at 9 am). Were told "Gee. We had two for a while but one disappeared. It's been months." No "We're going to add hand carts." The employee offered to help us move everything after finishing their other work... 20 minutes later, I left and went down the road to Ace Hardware and spent $35 on a handcart. We are now investigating other storage facilities in the area. Here's why. Any place that cares so little about helping its customers with something as basic as a cart - in a storage facility! - is not really going to care about customer service in general, let alone security.
