I notice that the two reviews posted here center on the rehab unit and they were very good when my…read moresister first went there. My review is regarding the nursing home care where my sister is a resident. She has extremely limited mobility. It seems the more help she needs, the worse her care gets. She is told she does not try hard enough, that she should be able to do things which she physically cannot do. There are a few good aides, but more often than not she finds their attitude inappropriate. As is the case in many of these situations, if she complains she fears retribution from the staff. It is the direct care part of this place that is lacking compassion and concern for the residents.

I wish I had greater things to say, but that's just not the case with the school. This past summer,…read moreI was taking an online chemistry course. I needed a lab kit via Ecampus, so i ordered my voucher and redeemed it. I ended up needing to drop the summer course before even getting my lab kit, so I returned it via fedex as it was still en-route and have yet to recieve my money back. I didn't get reimbursed for any tuition, but i knew that was gonna happen. What isn't great is another 400 stacked on top of that. Every phone number I've been given I have been redirected to someone who will not answer.

This place changed the trajectory of my son's academic life. He went from below-average and average…read moreperformance to above-average results and became more confident. He started with really low percentile scores and went on to make the honor roll in high school and earn a high SAT score, which helped with college admissions as well as scholarship money. We invested in sports and music, but nothing paid off as much as investing in Huntington for my son. The tutors are supportive but firm about making sure their students are learning and growing, which I appreciate.

I would not recommend Huntington Learning Center to anyone. My experience was extremely…read moredisappointing because the staff were rude, impatient, and overall unhelpful. Instead of making students feel supported and confident, they often came across as dismissive and made it uncomfortable to ask questions or get extra help. For a place that's supposed to help students succeed, the environment felt negative and discouraging. I expected caring tutors who genuinely wanted to help, but instead I left feeling frustrated and like my time and money had been wasted.

They do seem to do a lot for the Rochester community and have a noble mission - I think I was just…read moreunlucky and had a bad experience with them trying to execute that mission. I was working through applying for the First Time Homebuyers club. It's a tedious process that requires printing a ridiculous amount of paper. The person I was working with was uninspired and gave off the overall vibe that I was inconveniencing them by applying. There was an extreme lack of communication, and ultimately it was up to me to figure out that I was denied 2 months into the process. She never bothered to tell me I was denied. Once I questioned Neighborworks about it, they said I was over the income requirements; they showed me the final application, and the worker put down my wrong income info. I would love to make what she said I make - but I showed them the math (multiple W-2's) and that I was well under the income limit. NO RESPONSE. I had to prod more, and eventually I was told I have to wait for the next calendar year to apply again with this years taxes. No apology, no acknowledgement that they screwed up, nothing. At this point, it's too late for me to apply, I need to buy a house well before I'd finish the saving program. TL;DR - Applied for FHBC. They messed up my application with a math error. Denied by state lending agency. They never told me and never apologized.
