They set up a care plan which allowed me to work on problems I was having. Each staff member was supportive and encouraging. I would recommend Halcyon if in a crisis situation. You can not expect to sit and let them take care of you...you have to put on the effort and they will guide yo and assist you with tools for wellness, and other resources within your care plan.

Up right now at 1AM from Night Terrors that I have because of HELLCYON. I have 2 claims with CDSS…read moreand 1 claim with JFS Victim's Advocate Services because of the traumatic experience and physical infections I received from this facility. During my stay there I was pressured to cook and clean for 14 people- beyond the standards of food prep and regular chores. The food was rotten and expired most days. There was barely hot water for 3 dayd to shower and clean with. Because of the unsanitary practices I was treated in the ER with a bacterial abscess on my foot, bacterial cellulitis, & Hypokalemia from vommitting & diarrhea caused by stress and illness. I had to call 911 emergency services on the overnight Staff when I was experiencing untreated physical and mental health problems. Once first responders came- the 2 overnight staff and assistant director Cassidy Pacheco had LIED and said that I was "suicidal". This false statement caused me to be in an unwanted 5150 hold. I went into Halcyon voluntarily and left the facility involuntarily once I spoke up about the mistreatment and pointed out the Program Director/Facility Owner Priscilla Grossman's expired license posted outside the Psychiatrists office. The psychiatrist from "Rady's Children's Hospital" refused to give me the medication I came in with- instead giving me only Benadryl for PTSD panic attacks for 3 days. After I was discharged and went to pick up my belongings. Half the medication that was expected to be returned was not. I was told that by Director of Nursing Carmen, that once I took Benadryl that gave the facility a right to "discard" my medication. I have spoken to numerous people who's previous claims of abuse and malpractice weren't believed at the time. This facility is a dual diagnosis facility and unfortunately Kaiser sent me to the wrong facility because I don't have drug/Alcohol abuse issues, but being there for over a week and witnessing/experiencing the failure of the mental health pandemic was eye opening. I have insurance and was treated terribly here. Most clients here are homeless and don't have insurance. Most of these clients never speak up because they won't be believed or it's "better than being on the streets". Is it, if you are at risk of serious infections and worsening mental health? No, it's not! Halcyon Center DO better. Community Research Foundation (CRF) whom is the non profit organization overseeing this hellhole DO better. I hope this facility is either shut down or does a serious self construction with a non corrupt director/assist director, more competent nurses and clinicians who are ACTUALLY available, an OMBUDSMAN or Client to Provider middleman, fair distribution of donated food (not staff stealing all good food and giving clients moldy bread and bad meat to cook), and to meet all legal and regulated standards with just a little ounce of morality and human decency to those less fortunate or trusting you with their/their loved ones health!
