They completely master concepts before moving on to the next. Yes, it is an incentive based program (earning stars for prizes), but we figured out that what's my particular kid needed. I will say that at first, your kid will be upset at the assessment test. A kid behind in math might hate it because it makes them feel "dumb" and beg not to go back. As an adult, we know it is set up to be hard, to find out where you stand and where you need the help. Try to push through this if you can! There is light at the end of the tunnel. My kid went from hating and avoiding math for almost 3 years, to asking when she can go next. She is now so confident in math at school and proud of her knowledge, even helping others. I never thought that would happen. However, I believe you will need to go regularly and stay committed to your sessions to see the progress we did, which is up to you (you make your schedule - weekends included). Maybe you can't do other activities for a bit to get up to speed. That was a hard sacrifice for my kid, and the program isn't inexpensive. But the tutors are all math and engineering students from local schools, and Carol (owner) a strong partner in my kid's education, so I really believe it's money well-spent.

The student does all the work at the tutoring center. It does take at least twice a week commitment to see results. We are lucky to have this resource in our neighborhood. I highly recommend.

I cannot recommend Larkin more! He is one of the best teachers/tutors I've ever had across any…read moresubject. Of course, he is particularly amazing at the LSAT and tutoring it, but what makes him such an effective tutor is his LSAT-agnostic ability to so precisely understand and articulate where your own understanding of a question falls short. It's quite impressive- there were times when I would say I didn't know why I chose a wrong answer, and he would tell me that he knew exactly why, and then proceed to articulate what I was subconsciously thinking but had failed to find the words for. His tutoring style is even more important with recent trends in the test becoming less formulaic. Since his approach is not formulaic and instead focused on developing your critical thinking skills, you become much more adaptable to whatever the test may throw at you. I saw this firsthand as someone who took the LSAT twice in the second half of 2026, where I noticed questions that didn't fit neatly into traditional question types or were worded in strange ways. Because of the way Larkin teaches you to think through questions rather than just identify a formula or question type, I felt much more equipped to handle those questions. Most importantly, however, the critical thinking skills you develop by working with him are so valuable in all walks of life. While I am still early in my application process, I am already more confident in my ability to engage thoughtfully with dense text, and ultimately, in my ability to succeed in law school and beyond. In fact, I even feel like my ability to understand and articulate ideas has helped me write a better personal statement! Working with Larkin also made the experience of studying for the LSAT enjoyable. I looked forward to our tutoring sessions, and I think that this attitude also kept me in a great headspace for the test. I genuinely cannot recommend him enough.

I had been struggling with insomnia due to test anxiety, and was working with a different tutor who I did not find very helpful. From one meeting with Larkin, he helped me understand that the way I had been taught to approach the test was too formulaic, and was not relying on my innate skill. During the time we worked together, he reframed the test for me so that I was thinking through each problem's idiosyncrasies rather than relying on perceived patterns. He made me walk through my logic for each question, and pushed back on me even if I was right to cement my thinking and build confidence. He also took the time to get to know me and my thought processes well to understand why I made the mistakes I made, which made fixing them a lot easier. Larkin also built my confidence and made me realize that I could still do well tired, which significantly reduced my anxiety and led to better nights sleep before the exam. I am happy to report that I ended up getting a 180, and I don't think I could have done it without Larkin! I would highly recommend Larkin to anyone in any stage of their LSAT process. He is incredibly patient and laid back, and teaches the LSAT in a way that makes it truly enjoyable.
