They offer really good advice and I usually go in here before I decide to visit the doctor. A perfect example was last month when I had a really sore throat. They now offer a "Sore Throat Test and Treat Service" so they took a swab from my throat and were able to tell me in a few minutes what the cause was. As it was not bacterial (Strep Throat) they told me i could treat it with over the counter medicines. If it had been Strep Throat they would have sent me to my doctor to get antibiotics. It only cost me €7.50 and saved me the time and expense of visiting my doctor. On many occasions they have given me really helpful advice about the medicines I was taking and they are very friendly and approachable.

Open until 10pm you probably won't find a later opening pharmacy in the area, and because of it's location on O'Connell Street near O'Connell Bridge you would find yourself passing it reasonably often. Location brings other things too, like the constant feeling that the security people are going to jump you if you move too close to anything in the shop! And price are a little higher than the more suburban pharmacies, but I guess you can't complain when the location and opening hours probably make that necessary.

He then proceeded to reel off some instructions at top speed, that I could not grasp. After he snapped the price at me, I gave him my card with a look of incredulity. He couldn't even deign look at me when returning my card and dangled it from his fingers while looking away. In all my life, I have never been on the receiving end of such ridiculously bad service. With so many pharmacies in the area, I will be taking my custom elsewhere in the future, and I recommend others to do the same.

The shop is pretty tiny but stocks a good range of hair and beauty products on top of all the regular D.I.Y. health care items. So, four stars for this local institution. One removed for not having any shampoo specific to curly hair, the normal stuff frizzes up my do, we need more moisture than you straight haired guys see.

Classical music playing on the radio which I thought was a lovely soothing touch. The man and the woman in there could not have been more friendly and welcoming, addressing me by my first name (on prescription). We had a chat about the weather and rugby. That is what I want from my local shop, pharmacy, pub etc. Staff that have the time to exchange niceties - it makes life so much more positive!

There is a full selection of cosmetics at the front giving way to a pharmacy at the back. I'd recommend heading a few doors down to Meagher's who are just as well stocked and often better value. They're a long standing local business and the inside has the feel of a real old apothecary.

The times that I have had to go through the visa process with the said embassy my photo amazingly is never the correct size. Oddly the photos of everyone that is there when I am there is never the correct size. So we are always instructed to get them redone at the Hamilton Long chemist across the road. They are well used to the drill, down comes the big white background, 'Sit on the stool there and try and make yourself look as ugly as possible.' The charge for the always unflattering photo is very expensive. There is something about paying through the nose to be photoed at your most hideous state that seems grossly unfair. Surely you should pay according to satisfaction. Other than that it's a small chemist with all the essentials. Staff are grand but I still hold on to that conspiracy theory that the embassy get a kick back for all the customers that they send their way.

This place is great…read more It's one of the many pharmacies in Ballyfermot but there's quite a nice feel inside the place. The staff are excellent, very knowledgeable and always ready to help if you need anything. They have quite a good selection here from make-up to hair dye to vitamins and everything in between. You'll always find a good deal in here, be it on make up or vitamins or even jewelry, there's something for everyone. Their pharmacy is great, the pharmacists are very good at their job, they're respectful and pleasant to deal with. They have a security guard in the shop, which is quite comforting, I think. There's nothing…read morenew to report here, the building housing Boots is a tiny bit interesting and the products sold here are as expected, if not a little Spartan in some departments. I have bought one item here out of necessity but I plan never to do so again for one simple reason: Des Brady has run the local pharmacy, which is almost next door, for as long as I can remember and I feel it's important to support these local businesses whenever possible. Funnily enough, the neighbourhood appears to agree with me and have all but forsaken this generic franchise.
