However, the telehealth nurse consultation was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I had already completed all my basic information on the iPad, which should have made the identity check quick and simple--just like my friend's session, which took only a minute with basic questions about name, DOB, and allergies. Instead, the virtual nurse I spoke with acted as if she were a doctor, asked the exact same question over 5 times, and repeatedly pressed for details I clearly expressed hesitation to share. To make matters worse, when she noticed my uncomfortable response, she actually giggled and seemed to enjoy it. Her behavior was extremely rude, unprofessional, and frankly bizarre. It was so bad that I genuinely wondered if I was being intentionally mocked or racially discriminated against. I couldn't believe someone could act this way in a healthcare setting. Because of this specific telehealth nurse, I woke up this morning still feeling deeply upset. As long as there is a risk of being matched with her again, I will never return to this place, nor will I recommend it to anyone else.

My wife found Doctor Julie Brown and my daughter began vestibular therapy with her--essentially recalibrating her senses and nervous system. This type of therapy was recommended by my daughter's regular neurosurgeon and cardiologist, though they didn't offer any recommendations for therapists. Thank goodness my wife found Doctor Brown! My daughter immediately improved with each session. At times we would wheel her in in a wheelchair, and she would walk out...or even dance out! At first the effects lasted only a day or so. We took her to four appointments a week, and after a while the benefit seemed to "stick." She could get out of bed 3-4 hours a day, and now is up to 5-6 hours a day. POTS can improve (or degenerate) on its own but I am convinced this vestibular therapy has made a significant contribution to my daughter's health.
