I happen to be there during and event and it ended up pretty awesome. They had a live band and they were pretty good. The band definitely sound like they were from the 40's and they did such a great job. I think they even went out of the way to dress and sound just like that era. I had a feeling that a lot of the stuff they sang was their own because I didnt recognize it and I listen to a lot of old Jazz and Big Band Stuff. Everyone came dressed the part which was really cool and they had a lot of really good dancers. The athmosphere was fun and it was old to young. Thats what I realy liked about it, they hand enough teens for teens to dance with, and they had enough adults so that adults could swing. The music never stopped and they even do group dances. I liked the church as well. It was very pretty.

Entire neighborhoods were destroyed from this interracial conflict from nearly a century ago. The original Mount Zion was burned down very shortly after it was built - this literally happened within just a few months. The current church was built many years later and has a plaque you can read to learn about this important but sad part of Tulsa history. Although the area is home to many homeless people (particularly near the overpass), it's right next to OSU-Tulsa so it's a safe area. When in the area, take a few minutes to check it out!

It is hard to find where to start, but Victory has truly made a difference in my life in a way that…read morehas called me home back to Christ. The worship is one of a kind and allows me to truly express my gratitude towards the Lord while keeping me engaged. Pastor Paul is a truly blessed preacher of the word. Straight from the Bible, he has a gift to deliver messages that always hit home and seem to highlight my weeks struggles by reminding me what the Lord has in store and how to renew. There are plenty of Volunteer opportunities after taking appropriate classes to get their volunteers, multiple ministries, multiple ways to engage to bring the Lord to others and to remind those of Christ how to serve. Victory is active not only locally, but in other states with disasters and worldwide with missions. Baptism service allows multiple people, planned or unplanned, to become baptized, and backstage, you further that understanding with appointed Victory members who volunteer to pray for your choice after your Baptism, which makes sense due to the large size and open call to Christ mid service to help all who come. If you're in the area or online and need a true Bible based church mixed with modern worship that captures old, new, and the future, try out Victory. Thank you Pastor Paul for your leadership and vulnerability in your preaching and may the Lord continue to further Victory's mission. We moved to Fort Smith but I am so grateful for you're online services.

Oh man, I grew up at AUMC- loved Pastor Darlene, pastor Morris and the worship team. However, so…read moremuch has changed- for the worst. While growing up at Asbury, this church was so inclusive and welcoming to ALL!!! Unfortunately, today was a terrible experience- I did not know they left the Methodist affiliation until the pastor made it very clear that they do not believe in what the Methodist church believes- which is showing God's love and welcoming all. You don't get to pick and choose who you accept- so basically you don't accept the LGBTQ+ community so you must not accept other ethnicities either- which to be honest- Asbury was never very diverse to begin with but Pastor Darlene being an African American woman and a pastor- I felt Asbury to be very accepting- guess things have massively changed. What a shame. Pastor Andrew Forrest made it very clear by mentioning that is what the LGBTQ+ is not what their church believes in- his words- He made it evident that this church does not welcome all- he even chose to bring politics into the Mother's Day message by mentioning what's happening on college campuses- what a horrible way to tell people what's happening to children and other countries is not relevant or doesn't matter- and that a college commencement is much more important that the lives of those people innocently taken. Does he even know why their are doing this- he sounded so entitled. He was very condescending during his sermon and does this new Asbury not mention scripture? His message made no sense. It's been years since we visited- never again. I wanted to go for Mother's Day. So sad what has happened and how many people are actively listening to these things- sigh.

To me, the fact that a church is willing to lend their facilities to a ministry so vital and important to many speaks volumes. Every week, they let us take over and have our lectures and bible studies here. It is such a blessing to all the women that attend (probably around 300!). The church itself is gorgeous too. The chapel has beautful stained glass windows and the pews are spacious. The children's are is also very spacious which is comfortable.
