The Bay Church - One of my last remaining keepsakes from the good ol' days :(

I never thought I'd ever leave a review about church lol. But this is so deserved and want to make…read moresure I leave a review in case it helps someone also find their home church. Was going through a rough season where I found myself being pursued by God - for the first time in my life I can say I've ever been willing and open to leaning into my faith this way. About two months into rebuilding my relationship with God and I think it is safe to say we have found our home church with Bay and this campus specifically. Tried out a few churches in the area and Bay is what felt most like home for us. It was very important for me to find a place where I can be MYSELF and know God - I have felt a huge sense of peace and comfort coming here and feeling like I've found this. So amazing how involved Bay is within the community and the services it offers for the underserved communities. These are offered on an ongoing basis and engrained in their values which is so humbling to know. I've felt a tug to be involved in what they have to offer, to learn more, and so far it has been great. After service we always walk away feeling lighter, seen, and inspired. They rotate between different pastors to come and speak on Sunday and we love that we get a mix of different people to share the word. Their worship team is also so great and sings beautifully. Never in my life have I felt this hunger and it's an absolute blessing. What was "that church off the freeway with the lights on the hill" will hopefully be our forever home church.

Have been coming off and on for years. Wonderful monitors o that nets the needs of the community…read more Christ focused. Great worship and leaders.

The church is bible centric, values the presence of God and the Holy Spirit and yet they are down to earth and fun. You can experience powerful worship, challenging preaching, healing, hope and it is incredible to have so much diversity at one church. It is a casual place where anyone can feel at home.

I am especially grateful for the music ministry which has helped me grow closer to my faith. I thank the Music Director , Enrico Banson for his contribution of time, directives to the choir for development and helping us tune our voices, and amazing piano skills! Also to Maria, the best mentor/friend and for helping lead our choir as well! The list goes on!! If you are looking to be a part of a fulfilling parish, please attend any of our masses. Whether it be 10:30am English, 4:30pm youth mass, or any of the other times on the schedule. I often hear about people leaving church due to not feeling a connection with the community- i invite you to attend QAS and become a part of any of the ministries that interest you most (Bible study, music, liturgy , etc.) https://qaschurch.org/ministries

I've been blessed, humbled, and privileged to get to know this church, its amazing pastoral staff, and its courteous/friendly parishioners alike within the last year - and it has really made a huge impact on my faith journey! *Backstory: Since I was a wee lad, my family & I had known about this parish during the summers when we'd spend a whole Saturday at Waterworld, and as it got closer to the 4:00 hour, our parents would rush us to change and rinse and shower and get ready to go to the Saturday Vigil Mass at 4:30 p.m., and I remember that it was 'quite alright' to just wear shorts to mass! Well, I was a wee lad, remember?! Lol. (plus Concord summers are generally HOT!) - but hey, what matters is your attendance & active, full-conscious participation though, right?! Ayeeee!!!* Fast forward to the future - I never thought I'd be able to have a personal relationship with QAS! (physical, emotional, spiritual, and social) - as it has been a pleasure to work alongside their music ministry - a blend of enthusiastic, and industrious voices with one common commitment to assist the worshipping assembly in song of praise. I have been asked to sub several times as an accompanist/liturgical musician for some of their Sunday services within the last year, and I continue to do so - thank you, Mr. Banson! (QAS' current Music Director since early 2022). I have always looked forward to assisting in leading the assembly in sung prayer, and in doing so, it is such a warm & inviting atmosphere as I basked in their breathtaking stained glass windows, intricate altar details, and optimal lighting for capturing the joy of the Eucharist in such a spacious & grand interior. From the very first time I've subbed, the priests/presiders (such as their very enthusiatic & engaging pastor, Fr. Neal), their parish/volunteer staff (s/o to Nancy, Ernesto & Edelyn, Maria, Vincent, Mario & Jackie), I've gotten to know were exceptional, as they offered their helpful, and attentive service to help me prep that made my time there as a sub both smooth & effortless - ensuring a well-run, organized liturgical celebration! This 2023 is a major year for them, as they celebrate their Sesquicentennial - 150th Anniversary of the Parish, which is historically the beginning of the Roman Catholic faith in all of Concord! Help them celebrate by purchasing commemorative gear, and attending their events that they have planned all year long! If you are looking for a parish to join, they offer many opportunities for returning our gifts of time and talent to God. As stewards of God-given skills and abilities, volunteering in a ministry / organization provides a way to thank God, share our faith, and enhance the community. Not only this parish is THE place in Concord to go to fulfill your Sunday obligation on Sundays & Holy Days, THIS parish is YOUR source & summit of what you are looking for to be actively involved in parish life! ¡Ad Majorem Deí Gloriam! (A.M.D.G.)
