There were reviews about this kind of office/billing dealings that happened with some people in 2018 and 2021. Don't waste your time with this secretary. She is mean, nasty, very rude and no telephone courtesy. If she doesn't like the job, she better quit. IDK why she is still working there despite these incidents.

Upon my second visit, I had to request eye protection when work was about to commence, so I had to wait while it was found. The dentist now said oh! you need three fillings done. Upon completion my mouth was numb. That afternoon when the feeling in my mouth returned, I tried to chew on that side, and it was painful. The next day I called to return and get it looked at. I was told they were closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I called on another day to come in on the same day as my wife's scheduled appointment ( as I'm having a hard time getting around on crutches) and they tell me I can only be seen by same dentist who did the initial ( lousy) work, and he isn't there on that day. He solved my complicated dental issue which others were unable to do. He is fairly priced and tells you upfront the price both verbally and in writing so there is no confusion. My appointments were on time and his support staff is excellent. Dr. Bowne's concern is not only correcting one's dental problems, but also doing so in a way that looks beautiful and natural, not like an unrealistic TV ad for toothpaste. He is very responsive to all questions and approaches his work with an upbeat attitude that makes the process pleasant as well as painless. I am smiling unselfconsciously now for which I enthusiastically thank Dr. Bowne.

All I can say is that Dr. Bowne is a dentist that needs to be avoided at all costs. He performed…read moreunnecessary and expensive procedures on me which he never informed about before doing them. This doctor told me that I needed to have all of my old metal fillings replaced with the white fillings. It sounded ok to me, even though I have not had any problems with my teeth. I asked him if white fillings cost more than any other type of filling and he said no. I came back to his office and without xraying my teeth beforehand, "Dr." Bowne proceeded to yank out fillings in two of my molars. He then sanded down my teeth for the porcelain onlay he was fitting me for. He never told me that I was going to be receiving onlays, which is considered a cosmetic procedure and to which i would have never consented. First of all I grind my teeth - which should have been apparent to him had he ever actually examined my teeth beforehand - and it is not covered by insurance. I was dumbfounded but left the office to wait for my onlays to come back from the lab. Once I was home I started having severe pain in my jaw. I went back to Dr. Bowne and he told me my teeth were cracked and that I now needed two root canals. Two root canals for teeth that were previously fine! Plus, he left so little of the original tooth structure that I now really don't have much in the way of molars in that area. I asked Dr. Bowne why he performed this unnecessary procedure on me and he just turned and walked out of the room. Then I receive a bill from his office for $2,400 for the onlays. My insurance of course would not cover it as it is a cosmetic procedure. I called the office and asked for a copy of my records because I wanted to send them to an attorney, and magically they could not locate them anywhere. This man is a charlatan who only cares about making a quick buck. After all, he has a high rent to pay for a fancy 5th avenue office, and of course he has to keep himself in the latest Ferragamos. Stay away.

Everyone at Morris Park Dental has been very kind, and having multiple dental services available in…read moreone location is convenient. In fact, that convenience and the positive review from my other half was why I chose this practice. Unfortunately, my experience with the financial and insurance side of my treatment has been frustrating and unclear. My advice to patients with dental insurance is simple: contact your insurance company directly before agreeing to treatment. Ask what is covered, what requires prior authorization, what has been submitted, and what your estimated responsibility should be. Do not rely solely on being told that "insurance does not cover it." In my case, I was initially told that insurance would not pay for certain implant-related services. However, after contacting my insurers myself, I learned that both plans provided coverage for the extraction, bone graft, and continuing implant process, provided I proceeded with the treatment. I also repeatedly asked whether claims had been submitted and was told they had been. When I contacted one of my insurance companies, however, a representative told me that no claim had been received from the practice. It appeared that one insurance plan had been billed while the other had not. I paid the balance requested without hesitation because I trusted the practice and its expertise. My concern is not that dental care costs money; my concern is the lack of clear and consistent answers about the total charges, which insurance plans were being billed, what each plan covered, and how my balance was calculated. My calls were not always returned, and the responses I received often felt incomplete. Transparency is extremely important when patients are making costly healthcare decisions. We pay for insurance, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses, so reducing our costs matters to us just as reimbursement matters to a provider. If a practice participates in an insurance network, patients should be given clear information about how those benefits are being used. Morris Park Dental may still be a convenient option for people seeking several services in one place, and the staff members I encountered were pleasant. However, patients should read every document carefully, request an itemized treatment plan and billing statement, verify all claims directly with their insurance companies, and get financial explanations in writing before paying or proceeding. As the saying goes, "All that glitters is not gold." Ask questions and independently confirm the answers.
