Of all the supermarkets that have occupied this space in the 30 years I've lived here, Lidl is by far the most frustrating to shop at! Despite a staff that seems to work hard and do their best to help customers, there's been one problem after another since this store opened, so I can only conclude that it's upper management policies that are to blame (and the poor reviews I see for other locations seems to bear that out). The corporate overlords who run Lidl apparently have a much higher regard for the mighty dollar than for their customers or their staff, which manifests in many ways: - there are almost NEVER shopping carts available, although there are often a few scattered outside the store with locked wheels (which isn't supposed to happen unless people take them beyond the parking area). When I asked Security to unlock one so I could use it, they told me the device to do that wasn't available. The main collection area for carts (which is almost always empty) was damaged a few weeks ago, and hasn't been repaired since. - the shelves are often disorganized, so it's difficult to find a particular item, even if it IS in stock (which it often ISN'T). Stock is also frequently rearranged (without signage being updated to reflect that), and the staff often don't know where things are. - the restrooms were recently locked, so you now need a clerk's permission to use one. - there are rarely enough check out lanes open, making waiting on line a necessity. - Their self-checkout area now has a security gate you need to open with your receipt in order to leave. All of these problems seem to point at understaffing, and an overemphasis on security which certainly doesn't make customers feel welcome or appreciated! The only reason I keep coming back, besides the convenience of having a big supermarket within walking distance, is the decent selection of good products, and the reasonable prices. In most other respects, this is my least favorite shopping experience. If Trader Joe was closer and had a wider selection of products, I wouldn't even bother with this place! read more

UPDATE (11/15/2025): -I still go here for nonperishables mostly* because, based on my experience, I don't trust the deli and dairy products to not give me digestive issues. *The fruits/vegetables are good though. I try to play devil's advocate thinking it's me and not them, as I'm not sure if other shoppers have the same issues. But I also know that this is the only supermarket where I had such digestive problems. Namely, the issue would be within like an hour of eating deli turkey, hot dogs, smoked salmon, sliced deli cheese, I'd have diarrhea. Luckily it was mild enough that it didn't last for days. But I had this issue even after multiple chances over a span of many months of time. Again it was only this store, and the problem was the same which made me conclude there might be something consistently wrong with their storage / maintenance. Or maybe it's the suppliers idk. The point being, I never go here for a complete set of groceries. I go here for nonperishables because the prices are great. But always go to 1-2 other stores for perishables. Maybe the perishables here now are fine. But I don't like the anxiety feeling it's always a roll of the dice, if this time it's fine, and next time it's diarrhea. In addition.. this place has the worst management when it comes to dealing with lines. I think it's mostly excuses because again, this is the only store in the area I know where lines are this terrible. Your best best when shopping here is to go at less busy hours (check Google info). This has always been the case even since opening day. It felt like you were at a post office instead of a grocery store. The self-check out kiosks were supposed to fix this problem. However, often, multiple kiosks are not even open. The reason is probably to help watch out for theft, and I think 1 manager can only watch like 3-4 kiosks at a time, though funny enough I often don't see workers standing there. Point being.. if it's like 6pm when it's busy, logic says max out all your systems and speed them through. But here that's not the case. You have maybe 1-2 cashiers, and 3 kiosks instead of six. And there's often 1 customer that thinks scanning items is rocket science. Oh yeah, and the bathroom used to be easily accessible, and made shopping pleasant, because if I could go and wash up then I could be more relaxed shopping and have a better experience and not feel rushed. Now they require you to buy your items and request a key, and then leave your items, which is absurd. If they can't go back to the old way, then I wish they could accept a previous receipt as sufficient proof that you were a customer. If they want to require the receipt showing within the last month, then fine. But otherwise, seems like your best bet is first buy a stick of gum, then use the bathroom. If you lose the gum because someone steals it, not a big loss. But man... I sure do miss the Acme that used to be here. That store, I felt like I had the best complete shopping experience. The ultimate used to be having Subway when it was here, then shop. The entrance used to be better with massive openness. If it helps... my favorite stores in the area: Acme by Port Imperial. Acme has some crazy good ready-made food, fantastic dairy products. Whole Foods has the best yogurt. La Placita is consistently reliable in the quality of the produce. Man oh man! My last review was 10 months ago. And I gave it 3 stars then because when I reached out to Lidl on Twitter, they actually made me think they'd be installing self-checkouts in the near future. So I had hope. There's no hope in this store. There's always a long line. There's rarely the things you need. Just lots of cheap junk that'll eventually end up in a landfill or choking a fish in the ocean. Yesterday was my first visit here. You have to purchase an item before you're allowed to have an employee use a code to enter the restroom. What if you have to use the restroom while you're shopping before you check out? That means you're going to have to stop what you're doing and pay for your items and then beg to use the restroom! You also have to leave your bags unattended on the windowsill at the front of the store. That's wrong and ridiculous! I complained after I checked out that I already paid for the items and they were my property not the stores any longer. The babysitter of the self-service registers spoke to the manager and she insisted that the bags be laid on the windowsill. I told the person babysitting the self-service registers I'm putting them by your counter and your responsible if anything is stolen. The restroom itself is insane. There is only one stall and a urinal in the men's room. While I was using the stall another man was let in but the gap between where the lock is ( which is homemade by the way ) and the panel that holds it in place is gigantic. That means people stand there and actually watch you have a bowel movement. How ridiculous is this? The place is completely chaotic. There were no shopping carts available so despite being disabled I had to walk to the far side of the shopping center's lot to find one shopping cart that wouldn't turn in any other direction but right. This made shopping up and down the aisles almost impossible. I had to make never-ending right turns. The lines were very long at the checkouts. Many items have no price and you can't use their app to check the price of the items. I asked the person who I think was an assistant manager the price of two items that were in the clearance bins in the center of the store. She said these items have codes and the people at the checkout can look up the codes to determine the price. As it turns out later on I ended up meeting her at the checkout because apparently everybody here has multiple job responsibilities. These two items were men's boxer shorts . One of them had tomato sauce stains on the front so I put them aside handed her another one she said 699 and it's a set. I said to her what do you mean 699 those are on clearance . She says it's coming up $6.99 and it's a set. I said well this is only half of the set so it should be half a $6.99 but if it's in clearance shouldn't it be less than that ? She had no answer for that question. The store also has more than it's share of weird characters walking around. I was brushed up against several times by a person who appeared to be on drugs and casing the place for shoplifting purposes. This place is a poor example of a Lidl store. All their other stores are very clean and well organized. There was hardly any red meat available for purchase. I only saw one pack of frozen hamburgers. They had no butter .....I mean no butter whatsoever none... nobody knew where it was and l didn't even see a spot for butter anywhere in the refrigerated section. When the line stretched down the aisles from the checkout nobody moves out of the way for people that are still shopping. It's very large for one of their stores because it used to be an Acme and before that a Pathmark. The Pathmark was discussingly filthy let's face it it had cockroaches and the Acme was kind of expensive for what it was what they were both much better alternatives in this place. I feel really bad for anybody who has to shop there on a regular basis. Thank God, the location near where I live is infantly better than this one. It's so ridiculous that you actually have to agree to their laminated shoplifting policy that's forced in your face when you enter the store. When I first entered myself and the lady ahead of me were forced to read the sign before we were allowed to enter the store. The person holding the sign appeared to have what looked like cocaine residue on her nose. The same sign is posted everywhere. I want to know how legal is it that a store prevents you from using a restroom and taking in to the restroom your own property including my backpack which had many personal items inside of it. This has got to be the worst location in the entire chain. Oh and the best part or maybe the most asinine ridiculous stupid thing I've ever seen was there was a giant puddle in the middle of the store .They had one safety cone and nobody mopping it up. In order to get around it you had to walk through it. It wasn't due to rain so l am assuming they have some sort of broken pipe and ceiling that hasn't been addressed. Generally, I love Lidl. But this store is horrible. The carts are routinely left in the parking lot and you have to go find one yourself. You're not allowed to use the restroom until after you're finished shopping and have paid. That means you have to leave your groceries unattended outside the bathroom. If ever you ask for a supervisor, employees are apparently trained to lie and tell you they are the supervisor because they lie all the time. Expired food is left on the shelf. No stars. Horrible management. My car was badly dented in one of their parking lots. They are so incredibly short-staffed, employees never come out to remove the huge overflow of carts from the cart carriages. As a result, several carts rolled out of the carrier and damaged my otherwise pristine car. I filled out reporrs and they told me they would review the video footage taken from the parking lot cameras. I chased them for several months, calling and sending emails. When they finally responded, they claimed that their 2nd party surveillance company refused to release any footage to them. Ridiculous! I wrote back once more telling them that my family and I would no longer be patronizing their stores and that the cost of the damage was far less than the amount of money we would be annually spending in their stores. Poor management, very very uncaring. I have been telling all my friends not to shop there! They lost excellent customers. read more

I would consider this to be a place I would go to if I needed to quickly buy something I don't have at home. This place doesn't carry everything I would need but does cover the basic grocery items. I had such high hopes when Lidls first opened a few years ago. It's very frustrating to shop there because they keep on changing what they stock. Some of these items are pretty basic. For instance last winter, for more than a month, they did not have maple syrup. Unlike Trader Joe's where you know items may be seasonal, there seems not to be a similar inventory approach at Lidls. Last week, I went there to purchase two items and neither was available (in one case, the item sign was there). When you ask staff about when items might be available, no one seems to know. Lidls' prices on sale items are very good but if a brand item is not on sale, prices are comparable to Shop Rite. The quality of their store brand varies with the item. So, it's hit or miss. I would prefer that they carried fewer non-food items and cede that space to expanding their food inventory or perhaps add a fresh deli department (this neighborhood could use a deli department). read more

Before you go to Lidl, I think it is important to know that a lot of the growing pains have faded away - the crowd/covid management and apathetic staff, specifically, are a lot better then they were when Lidl first open. Also, another thing you should know is that this is a European style grocery store, so it's a little different than a Shoprite or an Acme. I suggest coming into Lidl with an open mind and experiencing it for yourself. So there is finally a grocery store in Weehawken! (I don't count that Whole Foods on the waterfront....way too expensive for a regular grocery store.) Truthfully, nothing will replace Trader Joe's in my heart, and I am disappointed that this isn't a Wegman's (that was the rumor). I wasn't sure how to feel about Lidl when I first walked in, but as I shop there more and more, I find the store is growing on me. It was the same experience when I first shopped at Aldi's or Trader Joe's, actually. The layout of the store seems a bit small compared to the old Pathmark (I still call it Pathmark, lol), but there are MANY fairly priced items here, especially compared to the ShopRite in Hoboken or the aforementioned Weehawken Whole Foods (ya'll KNOW IT'S TRUE!). And that's where Lidl is at its best - their everyday prices are very fair. You may be a coupon clipper and still search flyers when trying to find the best deals...and you may very well still be able to score a deal on certain things "on sale" at other food marts. However, if you want an overall fair price, and if you don't want to think too much about competitive costs, then this place has you covered. Interestingly, unlike Aldi's or Trader Joes, Lidl does offer sale prices and coupons. This is not a plug, but if you shop their frequently, you may want to download their app for even more savings. Their selection of items is pretty solid, depending on what you are looking for. Most food items are their in-house generic brand, and there is a generic counterpart to the name-brand item - like chips, for example, will be 'Ranch Style Tortillas' as opposed to Cool Ranch Doritos. Occasionally, they WILL carry the name brand item. Name brand laundry detergent and soda (like Tide and Coca-Cola) are two things that usually are in stock. However, I encourage you to try their generic brands, as they are often comparable to the original. Some of their unique snack foods and candy are actually delicious. I find that most European style food marts - Lidl, Aldi's, even Trader Joe's - don't always carry EVERYTHING that you are looking for - that's just facts. Certain things just can't be found there, or certain things run out of stock quickly. Produce, for example, is one thing that changes in availability. You can't expect to walk into Lidl thinking that avocados are going to be there - they may be out of avocados. Making a list is key, so you know if you need to hop to another grocery store to find particular items. One thing I must say - their selection of meats is incredible. All of the meat here is very high quality, and they offer fair prices on many different cuts. Apparently, Lidl is known for their fish as well, but I haven't ventured into fish yet. Lidl is also known for their cheese case, which is excellent too. Award winning, as a matter of fact! Not to mention, their 'fresh bakery' section is absolutely amazing. There are no cakes, but rather pastries and breads such as croissants, foccacia, pretzel rolls, donuts, tarts...honestly, the bakery section is probably one of the best parts about Lidl. The chocolate croissants are to die for! Lidl also offers a relatively large selection of goods. The word 'goods' here is used very, very, broadly, because you never know what you are going to find. I purchased a slow cooker from Lidly for 19 dollars - yes, a 6 quart slow cooker for 19 bucks. I also purchased Harry Potter themed merchandise for my niece, a ukulele with sheet music for my father, and leggings for myself. You will never know what will be in the goods section...cookware, accessories, small electronics, pet things, the sky's the limit! Just be sure to purchase things right away when you see them. Lidl is the type of store where if you see it...you should buy it, because you never know if it will be there when you go back. As I said in the beginning, enter Lidl with an open mind (and a shopping list!). If anything, there is at least a food mart to pick up bread, milk, and eggs when it snows. PSA - Lidl is NOT related to Aldi's or Trader Joe's. In fact, Aldi's and Trader Joe's are related (brother companies) and Lidl is their biggest competitor. Just some fun facts for you! Okay, I have been using this Lidl for three years. I've studied it, I've thought about it, I've talked about it and I have my final assessment. Weehawken is a food desert unless you have a car and can drive to the Whole Foods or feel like dragging your stuff up a hill. Lidl is not a real supermarket. Goodness knows what's going on with the food production/suppliers. The vegetables don't spoil. Avocados stayed hard for 3 weeks. The meat tastes weird and has a weird texture. You can't rely on anything being there consistently. You have to be vigilant about checking the dates because there will be spoiled food on the shelves--but you have to do that with every supermarket really. This particular store used to be completely unbearable because there would only be two check outs open and huge lines. The Lidl became a lot more tolerable when they installed six self check outs. That was nice for a couple of months but lately they have been closing half of them down so those on self checkout won't forget the lovely experience of waiting on line. Like...come on--really?!? My other complaint is the dogs. I feel for the employees, they don't get paid enough to deal with the BS that would come with asking someone to not take their dog to a supermarket--no one used to do this. I'm just saying this because you should be wiping down the carts before you put your food in there. There is a lady that puts her dog in the carts. Just really selfish and entitled behavior and there is no one enforcing it. There was a week when they had a no dogs sign and it was finally like, yay, someone realizes this is gross as hell. But that ofc went away pretty quickly. Good stuff: The edible items can have great prices. There is always a bunch of interesting junk to look at in the random stuff section. The employees are lovely, patient and kind. It's a tough job but they have always been real sweeties. At the end of the day this is more of a scream into the void bc wow this place sucks as the only supermarket within a mile but it's the only supermarket within a mile so we are forced to shop there regardless of the myriad of absurdities. I started this review from my first experience and held back as i wanted to give it a real try so after my third and last trip i am extremely disappointed after waiting over a year this is what they thought our neighborhood needed. First i would like to note last two trip no sanitizing wipes for carts . Also, i see quality is not what they were shooting for its all about cheap products and i get the business model but Weehawken has changed and with Whole Foods having a line out the door most days it would have been nice for another quality provider in our neighborhood. Unfortunately there is nothing special here and when the fad dies and people will end up back at ShopRite or Food Bazaar both have much higher quality and similar pricing . At Least at both of these you most of the time can find what you want or looking for and they have a true bakery , seafood and butcher department . I ended up buying 4 organic ribeyes that my whole family ended up throwing away do to taste and texture, organic section is slim and what name brands they do have its more expensive than the other markets. I love this store! The products are fantastic! The prices are very good. BUT the service is terrible. 1 register with 10 people with full carts lined up. Not restocked for many items even in the morning. The carts are not easily accessible. Not helpful staff. It is such a disappointment. I will give them a try again, but it will be awhile before I return. I Have walked out 4 times leaving a cart sitting because the lines were so bad. I have been there 8 times. 50%. I've lived in Weehawken for over 30 years and have gone through the old Pathmark before the expansion, the expanded Pathmark, the Pathmark after purchased by A&P, Acme and now Lidl, which occupies only a portion of Acme's former space. The predecessor supermarkets were far from perfect, but they were acceptable and at times even good. Lidl, however, is the pits. The place is a dump and the selection is p--- poor. The store carries only a few of any given item, which generally means you will find only what sells the most, which is usually the most processed and lowest in nutritional value. This might be great if your idea of a meal is Lunchables. The last time I was in the store it had no radishes. Today my wife wanted to buy cilantro, but it was withered and dried out. It was her first time in the store and I think she has post traumatic stress disorder from the experience. Responding to the reviewer who cautions that it will appear strange because it's a "European" style supermarket. Sure, maybe like Belorussia during the Soviet period. And no, as difficult as this may be to believe, I do not consider it a plus that a supermarket sells Ukuleles. I prefer supermarkets that sell a good selection of good food. I think LIDL is actually an acronym for "Laughably Inadequate Desultory Letdown". As many reviewers here have stated, we go to LIDL because it's maybe fifty yards from our house. But when we need a REAL supermarket we get in the car and drive to Hoboken for ACME (a great little store, used to be Foodtown, includes a liquor/beer/wine department) or Shop-Rite (MASSIVE, has everything you need) and for specialty items we hit Trader Joe's (Edgewater) or Whole Foods (Weehawken). I'm old enough to remember Pathmark, then ACME in the same Tower Plaza location and they were both MILES above this poor German excuse for a supermarket, offering a deli, fish and bakery counter and providing a level of friendly, caring service you never see at LIDL. It's like no one but no one who "works" there gives a flying f**k. The lines are always long because there are six register lanes but I've only ever seen one open at a time (and for whatever reason, LIDL refuses to put in self-checkout registers). The"food" selection at LIDL is meh: sad produce, lots of weirdo import "specialty" foods in cans, pre-packaged, highly-processed convenience food and almost nothing organic. You can't even find ice cream that doesn't have artificial ingredients. Then there's the whole bizarre "Cheap Crap From China" section, full of what we call "Future Landfill". And, yes, I'll admit I DID buy a $19 belt sander there and a $59 pop-up canopy but all the square footage eaten up by such junk could be devoted to, I don't know, FOOD. Decent food. I would love to know which other supermarkets bid on the opportunity to put a store in Tower Plaza and why LIDL's was accepted. Weehawken missed an opportunity to put in something good for many people within walking distance of this sorry excuse for a supermarket. This store seems to get a bad Rep, but it's a perfect place to stop in if you need to replenish your fridge or cabinets. They don't always have named brands but the low prices and fun European items override that minor detail. They have organic products, eggs and meats. The prices are so low, if I go in and buy a list similar to my Whole Food list, I'm paying $100 less. I haven't dealt with long lines when I have been there. Well, I was excited for this place to open. It is only one block from my house. I have lived in Weehawken for over 20 years and experienced both Pathmark and Acme at this location. It is by far, the worst of the 3 and will not last if they do not get their act together. For part of the year, every year, I live in Germany. Lidl is one of my local supermarkets so I am very familiar with this chain but have never experienced the issues that this Weehawken store has. There is no customer service in any Lidl but, I have never had the need in the German stores. Here, the prices displayed rarely match what is rung up at checkout and you often get the explanation that it was the weekend special and it no longer applies. Ok. Then change the signs! Yesterday, I was in in Lidl to purchase some of the items that were listed in the weekend sale. All were (supposedly) sold out. I even had an employee check in the back to see if there were any items left. There were not. Miraculously today, all of those items were restocked and NONE of the price stickers were changed. I assumed that since they were out of stock on Sunday and did not change the price tags that the prices was still good today. I picked up my 3 items and headed for 1 of the 2 registers that were open at 4:45pm. I waited in line for 25 minutes to checkout. ALL of the items rung up at a different price and after another 15 minutes of waiting for a store manager, I was told "sorry, that was the weekend price". I returned everything and left the store empty handed. What a waste of time!! As I did in the year that that space remained empty, I will just get in my car and go to ShopRite, Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. I will not be returning to Lidl until I am back in Germany. My neighbors feel the same way so there is really no way to tell if they get there act together in the future. We will not be going back to experiment. read more

Personally, I think it is the best grocery store in Weehawken. It is a European origin store, as such, it has lots of German chocolates and snacks. The prices are lower than most places. I for sure like it. read more

Have given this store several chances and wanted it to be a success. Sadly, it's awful. First, the lines are horrendous! Even though the checkout lanes are divided and six feet distances marked on the floor, no one is there to move the line along or create a new line, even when there's a second or third register open. The cashiers don't step up to move people along, either, and since there's no manager or customer service of any sort, it's a free for all. There often no basic necessities, like milk. They have plenty of weird dollar store crap, though! Aisles of it. But milk? Nah. It's too much of a hassle to even bother going. I would rather chew my hand off and eat it for dinner than go back to this store. It's far better money wise, time wise, and stress wise for me to drive to Acme, Whole Foods, Trader Joe''s or ShopRite. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

Okay selection, spend way more time in the checkout line than actual shopping. 6 registers, only one taking customers and a line up the aisle. Also, a no bags store. In a town that hasn't gone bagless. So keep that in mind. read more

Check your receipt before you leave. I was charged five times for one carton of eggs and twice for one lemon. Noticed the eggs overcharge when I got home and had to give up my good parking and go all the way back for a refund. Tried calling the phone number listed on google maps, but you just get a recording informing you that the store doesn't have a phone number. Then it says press one for English, and then it hangs up on you. Neat. Also, there's no customer service in the store, so I had to bother a busy cashier to give me my refund. Fun times. read more

Lidl - the Store of Constant Disappointment. That photo was taken an hour ago and certainly not the first time there have been complete cases and shelves barren. I just can't understand why a grocery store cannot keep things constantly stocked. We waited over a year for a grocery store, and I still have to make multiple stops to buy what I could have purchased at Acme. It wasn't the best but at least they always HAD food. read more

I eagerly peeked in for almost a year as they were building this store and even showed up to the grand opening. I was not disappointed! From day 1, this store went to the top of my list, ahead of Trader Joe's, Aldi, or Whole Foods (all of which are great). I loved the raisin brioche from their extensive bakery. I slather their organic salsa on eggs most every morning now, and their organic milk is the creamiest I've ever had. The rosemary feta potato chips resulted in a detour from my diet, and their dark chocolate tastes like something from Neuhaus for barely over a dollar! The organic throat soothing tea is tremendous. That's coming on all future camping trips with me, to soothe my throat when it's sore from the wood smoke. Their Allman 5-blade razors are the best I've ever used, period. Better than Gilette. And far, far cheaper! The Allman shaving gel and moisturizers are also superb. They're as good or better than comparable Nivea/L'Oreal products for a lot less money, and in the same convenient place I now buy nearly 100% of my groceries. The concept here is like Aldi or Trader Joe's: mostly house brands, pre-packaged meat/fish rather than a butcher/fish counter, and high volume. But the selection is far greater than Aldi/Trader Joe's and the quality is somewhat higher in my opinion. If you want the old school grocery format with name brands and a butcher, perhaps Lidl isn't for you. This is a more modern format. If there's ever a product that didn't work out for you, they are extremely good about returns. You'll have your money back in minutes and even an apology from one of the very sweet people who work there. In today's world, Lidl is one of the safest groceries I've seen. I've been countless times already, and every time, every single employee had their mask over their nose and mouth. They're very disciplined. When one employee did have a covid exposure several weeks ago, they immediately closed the store and notified the public. Then, they fumigated it before reopening. Folks, this has happened at every grocery store in the country by now, probably multiple times. The difference between them and Lidl is they don't tell you. Lidl took ownership right away. If I could think of one place Lidl could improve, it would be the length of lines. But despite their length, they tend to move very quickly, kind of like Trader Joe's. Kudos to Lidl for their great work! I'm popping in for more cranberry sauce and my favorite milk later today! :) read more

They have a very good combination of good quality European products with very good prices.

Do NOT buy any meat from here. I literally bought a pack of baby spare pork ribs on Sunday and let's just say that they were not very fresh. Stored them in the fridge and after 4 days they had a very strong odd odor. Was going to season them, but had to throw them out so there goes $10 down the drain. I don't come here for a full grocery trip just for little things here and there like yogurt and vegetables for the week which I haven't encountered any issues with. Customer service is average, the cashiers themselves are quick in checking you out, but usually there are only like two lanes open. The layout of the store is pretty big so everything is well organized and it's clean most of the time. read more

Most of the employees here follow mask protocol. However I had a terrible interaction today with one employee. I was there in the morning, to avoid crowds because I am immunocompromised. There were about 4 customers in the aisle and one employee was walking toward another. As he approached, very close to me, he pulled his mask down (it was below his nose before) to shout to the other employee. I asked him to cover his nose. He said, "ok" turned away, left his mask down under his mouth and started walking away. "Please" I said, "I'm immunocompromised and I am worried about getting covid. It's very dangerous". He said "don't worry about it" and started to walk away again. I tried again. " No. You need to cover your face". He pulled it up under his nose. "And your nose- you breathe through your nose" he pulled it over his nose. I saw a manager approach the two employees as this guy then pulled his mask under his nose again. The manager said nothing. I walked over and asked the manager if he managed this guy. He said yes, and I asked him to ask his employee to wear his mask properly. The manager turned to the other guy and asked , and the employee did. I was so upset I had to leave at that point. I have to question the safety of this store if management relies on the public to enforce their own protocols. It is Management's responsibility to educate their employees on safety and enforce basic public health. read more

It's a great place to catch COVID. No one was enforcing mask wearing, social distancing or crowd size. The employees weren't wearing their masks over their noses, if at all, or practising any COVID safety protocols. The checkout was horrendous and slow, doubling everyone's exposure. There were elderly people in there who can't get to other supermarkets! Highly irresponsible. I had hoped a German chain would do better but this place is a health hazard. Trader Joe's is further away but at least they are on top of things, wiping down carts and managing the crowd. Weehawken deserves better than this. Get it together, Lidl. read more
