All the piss on the floor

The most disgusting bathroom I've ever seen in a grocery store. One child urinal too low for an adult and one toilet. Urine all over the floor. I saw an employee leave without washing their hands. The hand dryer in not even close to the sink. Makes you not want to shop here. This is the Bayonne New Jersey location.

Long line because they never have more than one cashier.

Man oh man! My last review was 10 months ago. And I gave it 3 stars then because when I reached out to Lidl on Twitter, they actually made me think they'd be installing self-checkouts in the near future. So I had hope. There's no hope in this store. There's always a long line. There's rarely the things you need. Just lots of cheap junk that'll eventually end up in a landfill or choking a fish in the ocean. I wish it was illegal for large companies to have such little respect for the communities they serve.

Yesterday was my first visit here. You have to purchase an item before you're allowed to have an employee use a code to enter the restroom. What if you have to use the restroom while you're shopping before you check out? That means you're going to have to stop what you're doing and pay for your items and then beg to use the restroom! You also have to leave your bags unattended on the windowsill at the front of the store. That's wrong and ridiculous! I complained after I checked out that I already paid for the items and they were my property not the stores any longer. The babysitter of the self-service registers spoke to the manager and she insisted that the bags be laid on the windowsill. I told the person babysitting the self-service registers I'm putting them by your counter and your responsible if anything is stolen. The restroom itself is insane. There is only one stall and a urinal in the men's room. While I was using the stall another man was let in but the gap between where the lock is ( which is homemade by the way ) and the panel that holds it in place is gigantic. That means people stand there and actually watch you have a bowel movement. How ridiculous is this? The place is completely chaotic. There were no shopping carts available so despite being disabled I had to walk to the far side of the shopping center's lot to find one shopping cart that wouldn't turn in any other direction but right. This made shopping up and down the aisles almost impossible. I had to make never-ending right turns. The lines were very long at the checkouts. Many items have no price and you can't use their app to check the price of the items. I asked the person who I think was an assistant manager the price of two items that were in the clearance bins in the center of the store. She said these items have codes and the people at the checkout can look up the codes to determine the price. As it turns out later on I ended up meeting her at the checkout because apparently everybody here has multiple job responsibilities. These two items were men's boxer shorts . One of them had tomato sauce stains on the front so I put them aside handed her another one she said 699 and it's a set. I said to her what do you mean 699 those are on clearance . She says it's coming up $6.99 and it's a set. I said well this is only half of the set so it should be half a $6.99 but if it's in clearance shouldn't it be less than that ? She had no answer for that question. The store also has more than it's share of weird characters walking around. I was brushed up against several times by a person who appeared to be on drugs and casing the place for shoplifting purposes. This place is a poor example of a Lidl store. All their other stores are very clean and well organized. There was hardly any red meat available for purchase. I only saw one pack of frozen hamburgers. They had no butter .....I mean no butter whatsoever none... nobody knew where it was and l didn't even see a spot for butter anywhere in the refrigerated section. When the line stretched down the aisles from the checkout nobody moves out of the way for people that are still shopping. It's very large for one of their stores because it used to be an Acme and before that a Pathmark. The Pathmark was discussingly filthy let's face it it had cockroaches and the Acme was kind of expensive for what it was what they were both much better alternatives in this place. I feel really bad for anybody who has to shop there on a regular basis. Thank God, the location near where I live is infantly better than this one. It's so ridiculous that you actually have to agree to their laminated shoplifting policy that's forced in your face when you enter the store. When I first entered myself and the lady ahead of me were forced to read the sign before we were allowed to enter the store. The person holding the sign appeared to have what looked like cocaine residue on her nose. The same sign is posted everywhere. I want to know how legal is it that a store prevents you from using a restroom and taking in to the restroom your own property including my backpack which had many personal items inside of it. This has got to be the worst location in the entire chain. Oh and the best part or maybe the most asinine ridiculous stupid thing I've ever seen was there was a giant puddle in the middle of the store .They had one safety cone and nobody mopping it up. In order to get around it you had to walk through it. It wasn't due to rain so l am assuming they have some sort of broken pipe and ceiling that hasn't been addressed. In my lifetime this is the third supermarket in that location. I'm eagerly awaiting for a fourth one. The slightly lower prices aren't worth all the aggravation involved.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice.... I figured buying a case of water and a bag of tortilla chips couldn't possibly go wrong and be a normal experience. But after waiting for 15 plus minutes at a register the power went out ! They couldn't transact and carts were abandoned left and right with food that will probably spoil and be resold to people. Only at lidl

I visited this supermarket for the first time on a Friday evening to avoid the morning/afternoon crowd. I would consider this to be a place I would go to if I needed to quickly buy something I don't have at home. This place doesn't carry everything I would need but does cover the basic grocery items. They charge you for bags so bring your reusable bags to avoid the 7 cents (paper bag) to $.99 (reusable bag) fee.

Terrible customer service and food that expires very quickly. Sad, Union City deserves a better super market.

From day 1, this store went to the top of my list, ahead of Trader Joe's, Aldi, or Whole Foods (all of which are great).

A whole Lemon Pepper flavored chicken ran $7.99, which is just below market price for a bird. It came highly recommended, which sort of surprised me as in my head it's a lower end grocery store. Acme has soldiers though, respect. I got this bird and took it down to Sinatra Park, which is located right on the water in Hoboken. I always struggle to find a spot to eat these Tissis, as I'm really shy and insecure. The steps at Sinatra Park were pretty mellow, so I decided this was the perfect place. Plus the Empire State Building was in the background so that was tight. As I picked this bird up for the initial shot in the video, I could feel it falling apart in my hands. This is a telltale indicator of a good chicken. The breast was solid, just a tad dry from being ELITE. The leg and thigh however were 1st team all Tissi, super moist with a lemon pepper flavoring that you could taste. Skin was operating at a high level as well. Final score was 8.3 out of 10, which ranks it #4 out of 18 birds I've tried so far. GREAT value too at $7.99. Shoutout to Acme, keep slanging these high level birds!! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

The outside looked like an old fashioned deli/grocery with tables/stands outside for fruit and flowers. However, once you step inside you see a deli that looks like one of the nicer ones you'd come across in Manhattan's West Village. Based on the other reviews I've read below, it seems like this space has been renovated recently. The buffet table I've seen mentioned is no longer there. The shelves look new(ish) and the items on shelves are very organized. On top of that, the selection is impressive. There was an entire section of hot sauces including Siracha. On another shelf were some fancy low sugar bags of granola (that cost $13.99 *each*). It is a bit cramped when you navigate the aisles, but it I didn't knock anything over by accident so it's not bad. I snagged a bottle of water and was thrilled when the cashier told me it was only $1. I'm so used to going to Target or Shop Rite and having to pay $2 something for a water. It was cool to see even if Natural and Plus sells fancier stuff, not all their prices are high. I'd happily go back to Natural and Plus to grab a drink (and maybe some fresh cut fruit). Check it out if you're in the area!
