I love Lidl. Was in the area today and stoped in for the grand opening. It is a great store. Clean and bright with of the Lidl goodies. Fresh baked breads, a fresh and varied selection of fruits and vegetables. The staff was handing out lots of swag. Bags ,frisbees ,granola bars and coloring books for the kids. Lots of samples were available. I loved the dark chocolate and pretzels and the cheese and crackers. The folks that work here are always helpful and the price is right for quality food. Omg!! Such a beautiful bright clean store! Shout out to my Yelp Elite friend Steve for his awesome review!! I went on my lunch break and I got an idea of the store, it's clean, new, bright! The prices are so awesome too! Since it's a grand opening the staff is spoiling shoppers with lots of chocolate, trail mix, and cheese samples. No quarter for a cart and no charge for bags that I noticed. ****** I took my friend back in the evening to see the store and was told after the grand opening there WILL be a charge for bags so come prepared *******The produce looks incredible! I'm anxious to try it. I would say the prices are comparable to my beloved Aldi, but this store seems to be a step up with the grocery bagging service. This is a huge, new supermarket with a large variety of all types of foods of different nationalities. The meats are beautifully presented and have very good prices. The bakery offers a wide selection of breads & pastries. Delicious I might add as well as bagels & cookies. The prices are definitely lower than normal grocery stores. They also care housewares & household items as well as tools, toys & some clothing for kids & adults. It can be hit & miss but well worth taking a look. read more

My wife and I have fond memories of Lidl from our two month RV road trip in Europe. On occasion, we would park and sleep in one of the ubiquitous Lidl parking lots for the night, and awake to visit their bakery and get some smoked salmon for breakfast. When we first heard Lidl was coming to the area, we got very excited and readied our German and French Lidl bags. After a longer than expected wait, we've been pleasantly surprised by how much Lidl has endeavored to replicate what they do across the pond. They don't have everything you need, and sometimes they have random things, like trumpets and saxophones, that are really out of place for a grocery store. But their bakery and frozen food sections are full of great values. read more

Lidl is an awesome shop where someone could save a good amount of money compared to the traditional supermarkets like Giant and Wegmans. It has discount priced fruit, veggies, packaged goods, and food in general. It also limited time special products that are often good. The package non-name brands in all various things from yogurt to cereal to bars to cookies is fine as well. The plant milk is good too. I'm glad I can get all that type of stuff, spices, baking basics and basic toiletries cheap compared to a conventional supermarket. My girlfriend is plantbased so I can't really comment on the recent years meat or cheese quality, as we haven't eaten it for a long time now.  But the vegan special items are pretty good when offered. Lidl has 99% of the benefits of nearby Aldi, which is a very similar competitor but it also has: +Fresh Bread. The lidl bread is baked right there fresh and is of much higher quality, aldi just gets low quality pre-packaged bread. +Plantbased items are better and more expansive at Lidl. I can get two types of vegan pizza, Impossible ground meat, beyond sausages, almond-based yogurt (Silk) and various other products daily. Aldi doesn't really have that and I'm not into their daily plantbased offerings. Both places have good vegan specials. +Salsa. Big fan of the fresh salsa here by Lancaster Farms. +Weekly specials. I find I buy the weekly specials of both food and non-food items here more often. I still see the higher ticket items more at aldi, recently a $100 table tennis or weights, which is why I still go, but Lidl has more electronics and hardware on sale. BIG THING though: +++Self-checkout!  Unlike Aldi, I NEVER have to wait here. Well, almost never. I think once in the last year I had to wait 30 seconds. Does anyone like to wait? I know I don't! +Plus, someone is nearly always at the cash register! Unlike Aldi, where the workers need to be called. So if you don't like self-checkout, you'll get fast service anyway. My one criticism is they got rid of the small carts a year or so back and only retained the full size ones. Why? But it does't really affect what I get to take home. It's just a hassle in small aisles. It's a great store where I get most of my grocery needs. I'm not too fussy with brand names or getting exactly what I need like a specific popsicle stick over another or anything like that. I really love Lidl, it saves me lots of $$$, it's just that competition finally came to town and caught up. Way better than the big box supermarkets! read more

Glad they moved into the neighborhood. I think of it as an upscale Aldi's. Their meat prices are the best around. Chicken breasts are cheap and they taste great. I have added them to my regular grocery shopping routine. read more

Lidl is one of my favorite grocery stores. They always have everything in stock. Their prices are lower then average and the quality is good (food & home goods.) They don't supply bags at checkout so be sure to bring your own. They do sell bags 10cents & up. I appreciate the sanitizing stations next to carts before you come in. Their bakery is the bomb. Made fresh everyday. The store is always nice & tidy. It's 10steps up from Aldi. read more

Friendly, helpful staff. I like that I can get groceries and other things besides. I recently bought a LEF under the counter light that easily attached to the bottom of my cabinet. Also I accidentally dropped my credit card out f my pocket and didn't realize until I got home. You can't call them directly so they can better utilize their time with customers, so I drove back. As soon as the clerk saw me, he said "you left something, didn't you." So relieved my card was safe. read more

very frustrating that they are out of numerous sale items on several days. Can't call the store or the 800 number to find out if they have the items either. Just have to keep going back and hope you hit it at the right time. Employees not as friendly when you try and find out if items are coming in. This is true of Lansdale store also. I have never been to a Lidl and I had not heard anything yet about the store even though it has been open for a week. I went around noon on a Wednesday Nice, clean and bright. Good prices. Nice selection. I thought the aisles were a little narrow for two carts to pass. You could tell I wasn't the only newbie in the store as many people were browsing and may not have had the carts positioned very well. I will be back and I may switch to shopping for the majority of my things, only time will tell. read more

Horrible store.....the only good buys we're on things that were ready to expire. The non food items were junk. The cash register people don't even help you bag. The final straw was at the check out the debit card scanner screen didn't work. read more

Came here out of interest, as my normal grocery stores are Wegmans and Costco. Lidl is very inexpensive, and the quality seems good. The store is very clean and they do offer samples (or at least they did today). I spend easily over $100 in groceries every week, if I shopped here, I definitely I could save at least $30. They also offer a variety of items. However, I think that the parking lot is much too large and I'm not sure how long this store can last, considering the large amount of grocery stores around this area. If I had to compare Lidl to another grocery store, I think I'd compare it to Aldi. I'm not sure I would choose to come here over Wegmans or Costco, but if I realize that I'm out of flour or need something small, I might just come here instead of Walmart or Acme. read more

Wow. What a disappointment. I received their ad and made my shopping list. When I got to the store, they did not have over 1/2 of the items they advertised and I wanted to buy. What a waste of time. When I got home and looked at the ad again, all of the pages said "while supplies last". Employees had no idea when or if they would get more of advertied items. So no rain checks. Also checkout was extremely inefficient. Their coupons on app did not work properly for me or the employee. I expected to bag my own groceries but they don't even move them from the belt to a cart for you (like Aldis does). You have to load items onto checkout belt, then move items to cart and then stand in hot, front window with sun in your eyes bagging your items. There's plenty of other, better places in the area for me to buy my groceries with a lot less hassle. And those places DO have the items that they advertise or they offer rain checks. I also did not find Lidl's prices to be cheaper than other stores. My advice, don't waste your time and energy shopping at this store. read more

I would rate zero if I could...HORRIBLE customer service and rude employees...due to back issues, when I was done I had to leave my cart next to my parking space..the older man wiping down carts at the door flipped me off two times for doing so...not to mention the terrible customer service inside the store....will never go back...can't believe they allow this to go on in their stores... read more

This is probably my most favorite store ever! I totally recommend go there! It has great products cheaper than any store I ever went to! They have everything you can imagine! Butter,milk,chocolate chips,cake boxes, and even a variety of drinks! Even though I'm only 10 this is the best place ever to go with my mom! It has all the baking supplies! They even have customer in training carts for kids and you get to spin the wheel! You can earn trail mix,bags, and other stuff too! I love place go now!!! read more

I used to shop at Lidl when I lived in Europe and I'm so glad they're now in the US. This is a great store - a combo of ALDI, Wegman's, and Trader Joe's. I'm so glad they opened in Royersford, PA and will soon open in Trooper. They had some hiccups the first day, to be expected, but the staff were all very helpful. The selection is amazing! So many organic foods, from meats to produce to grocery items. The store is big and bright and modern. Traditional grocery stores have a lot to fear. I have been an avid ALDI shopper and ran into that store the other day to grab something and I noticed they're handing out coupons for $5 off a purchase of $30. I'd say they're a bit nervous! For me, Lidl wins that competition. They have more check-out lines and even someone to bag your groceries for you. I try to time ALDI to be there right when they open so the wait to check out isn't super long. Those poor employees are worked to death! read more
