Wow wow wow! 5 Stars for one of the best experiences we had on our recent trip to Spain. Spanish…read morenatural wine tasting with local cheeses, almonds, and butter? YES PLZ. I booked this experience through AirBnb Experiences (highly recommend checking the experiences in any city where you're traveling). When scrolling through the options this caught my eye as I am a big fan of low-intervention (aka natural) wines and Al Sur carries some Spanish wines I've enjoyed here in the states (shout-out to Golden Hour Wine in Orlando!). The shop is on Elvira Street and surrounded by small Middle Eastern restaurants. We loved the walk to the shop. Once there, Jessica greeted us and we sat at a large communal table to start our tasting experience. Jessica was a WONDERFUL host and the wine and bites we tried were some of our favorites on our entire trip. This tasting was a true highlight and I'd HIGHLY recommend it. They also have other great tasting experiences with various types of local food. One thing you must get if you're there is their locally-sourced butter. This butter was unlike anything I've ever tried before. It almost tasted of yogurt. I wish we would have been able to bring some home to the States, but while we were there we made sure to have plenty of it! Guillermo was at the counter and also helped us with some purchases of olive oil and pastries after the tasting. Overall, this is a spot that cannot be missed on your next Andalucian trip. It created memories we'll hold on to forever! (And we had some really great wine!!)

Case in point, thought I'd try the local beer and it's only 0.29€ per can. They also have regional wine. A bottle of 2013 Muñana Rojo (Tempranillo, Cabernet and Petit Verdot) sourced from the local Sierra Nevada area was only 5,75€. Jar of generic Nutella was 1€. Cute Coviran shopping bags too for 1,15€. I kept coming back and getting more things after I already paid. Because I dig those Spanish snacks. Minimum purchase with credit card is 5€.

In addition, there is a fruit section right upfront. However, I would not recommend you to buy fruits here; I have a better recommendation for you shortly in another review ;) (Frutas Carmen). In the back, there is a butcher there to sell you sliced ham and other meats. There is also a frozen section with yogurt and vegetables, other than the fresh vegetables upfront. Overall, Coviran is a very convenient place to go for a quick grab for anything you are missing utility wise. But I would still go to a special fruit store or ham store if that is what you are looking for in particular.
