Don't let Christina F. fool you - she LOVES this place! So much so, that she still can't stay away…read moreeven after 9 negative reviews! I love southern maid, and have always loved Southern Maid! Remember folks, tips are not mandatory. A tip jar's presence does not mean you are obligated to tip! I like having a tip jar available so I can show my appreciation for the kind service I received. Prices are great at southern maid. Gonna pay around $1.50 after tax for a donut. Can't really get anything for that cheap anymore. Southern Maid is well known for having good donuts across Louisiana, so nobody really thinks twice about the drive through being as rough as it has been over the years. Their service always more than makes up for it. So glad they're getting the money to fix things up to better serve themselves and their customers :) Christina did get ONE thing right though. Open the inside!! I miss seeing everyone's smiling faces and smelling the donut shop. That being said, I understand leaving it closed for safety purposes, especially with such a small number of staff. Good luck with your hiring endeavors! I love you Southern Maid!!

Finally. Finally they did some work on the parking lot. It only took, what, 20 years or more?…read more But I'm here today to ask why is there a tip jar in the drive thru window? What exactly does someone do in the drive thru to earn tips? You only have a handful of employees. Are you telling me you can't pay them a liveable wage? On top of that the inside is STILL closed. Is it ever going to be opened again? I remember decades ago we'd get off work from the graveyard shift at the AT&T plant and come here to get some breakfast and come inside and relax. Can't do that now and not for many years. This place used to be so much better than it is now.

Easy to buy for a group of people too. They also offered larger kolaches and Cajun ones (I'm assuming are spicy), breakfast burritos and biscuits. The cappuccino machine is sugary if you like that, but next time I'll just go for the regular Community coffee. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the inside menu to post. I will definitely go again!

To me it's a like a mom and pop version of crispy cremes donuts. It was very light and it looks like the owner makes it fresh when you request for it. Staff did not open the box to show us we had the correct cookies like every Crumbl does because they knew that they were giving us a subpar cookie. This isn't the first time either. There seems to be something wrong with one of the cookies every-time we go. Quality is not good at this specific store. The workers typically are not really that friendly either. Almost like they hate working there.

Good donuts. Seems to me that all of these small independent donut shops get all their supplies,…read morefrom cooking ingredients, boxes, and even recipes from the same supplier. I see little difference in the donuts. Friendly and pleasant husband and wife team own it. My favorite donut from here is the blueberry. They run out of these early every day because they are the favorite of many other people too. Seems to me that good business sense would tell them they need to make more blueberry every day than what they are making. I mean, they are usually gone before 8 am on the weekends. They may last longer on weekdays as I am a weekend donut bandit. The lady has told me in the past that if you call to request some the day before then they will put some aside for you. Problem is, my trips there tend to be unplanned spur of the moment. When they are sold out of blueberry, I just get the plain glazed most of the time. Good but not the hot Krispy Kreme that I miss so much. I do find that their plain glazed don't harden up as quick as many others such as Southern Maid and Krispy Kreme. Their apple fritters are also a weakness of mine. I find the chocolate glaze they use to be toooo sweet and the taste fails to seduce my tastebuds. My favorite item from here earns them an extra star - the breakfast burrito. It's not wild with crazy additions or goopy cheese, just pure simple delicious egg and sausage fixed to perfection. They will ask you if you want it heated up to eat right away. Well heck yeah, before I leave the parking lot.
