Picture what Best Buy is in the United States and improve it's look by giving it a more modern,…read moresleek decor and a better staff and you can pretty much picture la Fnac. It's part of a nation-wide chain of stores where books, music and electronics are sold. No appliances though, just cameras, computers, printers and various other peripherals. In the case of this specific location, the space is clean, well maintained and rather popular. It is very well organized and they offer an incredible selection of all things to read, listen to and of computers and televisions. The staff is very knowledge and parking is easy to find on the street or in the giant parking lot under the mall in which this Fnac is a part of. I've been here on what seems to like a hundred occasions, mostly to buy presents but also to entertain myself and keep up with new releases. I very much like this store and would recommend it to anyone looking for presents or something to read or a CD. Also present in the store is a photo development service, a ticketing office for concerts and shows and a repair center in case your iPod shit the bed. The only downside to this place is that during busy hours, you might have to wait a while in one of the ten or so checkout lines. The best part about the Fnac stores is their layout and atmosphere, allowing one to peruse through the various sections, crack a book open, sit on the floor and read some of it, or listen to samples from various artists in another section. It's very casual like that and welcoming and that is something that I love abou tit.

I fell in love at every turn from the moment we stepped through the door. I picked up gifts for myself, my nephew, and a friend at work. There's an officine universelle buly inside which is so convenient if you're not up for the long queues. So many exceptional offerings here. It was the most pleasant and calm shopping experience I've had in a very long time. If you're looking for the most top notch shopping look no further, you'll find the most special items here.

They first introduced the idea of a place with fixed prices and no haggling, which was an intense concept for folks in the 1800s. Pass forward to modern days, I'm not sure if it's still a good deal, because now it is a department store of luxury goods. They have designer fashion, accessories and beauty, home and design and an epic food hall. I'm not into the shopping but I was here to admire the architecture since there was parts of their glass and ironwork done by Gustave Eiffel. Not a must visit, but interesting place to browse if you have some extra time.

The inside is what I expect an ideal bookstore to be - a tad dark, cool, quiet and comfortable. With several different rooms, no doubt you could spend hours in here (if you speak French - French books only :). What kept me interested was a shelf near the door that held an assortment of guidebooks and charming little blank notebooks, ideal for recording your travels. I bought a sweet pink one, just what I needed for Yelp notes and such. Definitely check this place out for little souvenirs and French books (if you speak the language). Too cute.

I dropped in with my friends, one of whom wanted to buy French books for her children. I was just happy to browse. The store was attractive and welcoming, with a definite European bookstore charm. It was packed dense with books, on numerous display tables and climbing high on every wall. There was a cute dedicated room for children's books. I browsed the section of translated English language literature, and it was quite compact, a reminder that the world is large and not everyone cares what we Americans are doing at all times. (They did not carry my book, which has been translated into French. One of my friends very sweetly embarrassed me by asking. I found her with a polite lady who worked at the bookstore, the two of them looking at my face on a screen.) There were tons of cool coffee table books, which I enjoyed looking at in the absence of any French ability. I saw tons of art books, including one for the Rothko exhibition we were about to visit, and a great book about French drag. I was also amused by a Wes Anderson book tagged with a shelf talker that read, in French, "Perfect for fans of Wes Anderson!!" Anyway, I appreciated Librairie Delamain and would recommend it to anyone in search of books in this part of Paris. It's a beautiful store with a nice assortment of French books.

It had an old book store vibe to it, they also had a small range of drinks which were overpriced but where isn't in Paris? They had books mainly in English, I think they had a few French ones too. The store wasn't as modern inside and it didn't have the typical WHSmith experience which one would get in the UK, but it was a decent store nonetheless. They really do need to work on the entrances though, the only entrance due to COVID is up steps which wouldn't be disabled friendly, meanwhile, the front entrance is used as an exit - surely they should just use one door each for the front to accommodate everybody? 3* - Not a bad book store overall, a familiar brand which I like, service impersonal and prices a little high though.
