I have Celiac Disease and have to be gluten free, but I order from the general menu instead,…read moreordering only items that are gluten free. The food from the general menu is pretty good. If you don't order from the general menu, the kitchen will automatically send you Amy's brand frozen gluten free entrees that I personally don't like at all. You can find these at local supermarkets and try them ahead of time if you want. Basically they just put the whole cardboard container, lazy as I see it, in the microwave and heat it up. Waalaah! Breakfast or Dinner is served! If you order from the general menu itself, you must do so before the time that meal session begins as noted on the front cover of the menu. Or else your automatic gluten free entree is already being processed and on its way to your room.

This is a review more of the facility than the doctor because I wasn't even able to see the doctor…read more In fact, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist just told me to show up between 10am and 2pm on a Monday. So basically, there are no appointments. Everybody just walk in. Great during a pandemic. The first thing you might notice when you walk in is that there are brown patches on the ceiling where water is clearly leaking from the roof. Somehow I don't think mold is a great addition to a healthcare provider's office. The next thing you might notice is that the receptionist will push different "better" insurance on you. The third thing you might notice is the chairs in the waiting room are still situated right next to each other, as if there's no pandemic and no regard for social distancing. The fourth thing you might notice is the infestation. I saw a MASSIVE quarter-sized beetle crawling in the middle of the waiting room with no fear. Clearly bugs have found an appealing home in this waiting room. The final thing you notice before you walk out the door is that they only take cash up front. No credit cards. Just like the 1960s. How retro and inconvenient! If you have any regard for your health and safety, pick a doctor who works at another location. I can't say how good Dr. Yeo is. From other reviews, he sounds great. But after strike 5 at this facility, I think it's time for me to walk out.

When I lived in Chicago about a decade ago, I regularly utilized Advocated Health Centers for my…read moreprimary care. Upon moving back, I decided to utilize Advocate again. It's a great location in Portage Park/6 Corners. The doctors are great however they cancel or change your appointment without consulting with you. I've had this happen more than once with two different providers. I really struggle with professional lack of reliability. It's also very challenging to get an appointment in a short turnaround time. This place works for now but if there's not more consistency I'll have to change providers

Whereas this practice originally operated like a true small family business, in the past few years…read moreit has become too big to fail like the phone company and patients are increasingly treated like AT&T customers. For example, while operations have generally sustained, physicians can now take several days to respond to a prescription refill - so plan ahead. Scheduling has been clearly pushed out further than before and calls now go to what appears to be a quasi-call center. Finally, it may be worth noting the practice's roots in South Shore are not reflected in the faces of those gracing its glossy cover page. One cannot fault the practice for growing; that's the promise of America, especially to ambitious immigrants. Yet, for those who believe in honoring legacy and the spirit of humble beginnings, this practice remains capable despite losing something once special in its transformation.

My doctor and nurses were good when I had surgery in December,…read more The billing center must be watched they will do their best to get more than your CO pay out of you violating the no surprise billing act, they kept trying to bill me separately for the doctor who read a vein ultrasound , continuously trying to tell me the insurance denied it, I sent proof of insurance payment and my CO pay . I asked several times for the proof of the denial they said they received , but you can't send something that doesn't exist without breaking another law, with falsely manufacturing a letter, The billing department tried to convince me that a referral only covers the equipment and not the actual test, I informed them I will report them for the no surprise medical billing violation, if they harass me any more, now I wish I looked deeper into the bills I had paid before this one. Ultrasound on the veins was the writing test needed anyway, what doctor should have ordered was a nerve test, because that's what the surgery left me with was Nerve problems

Support staff of Sleep Science Center made serious mistakes in 2021:…read more(1) On my 2 visits out of 2 visits, the Center's support clerical staff INCORRECTLY typed my medications into UI Health's "MyChart" computer system, even though I always supply them a very clear up-to-date spreadsheet of my medications. For other patients, this chronic failure could be life threatening. (2) Most emailed notifications from UI Health's "MyChart" computer system failed to tell recipient (me) where to log in to read the notification contents. Other local medical systems do better than this. NorthShore University, Northwestern Medical, AMITA-Presence, and Rush University are not perfect, but they all do better than this. My Sleep Science Center doctor, who has been affiliated with UI Health for many years, seemed unwilling/unable to try to force improvements to the support systems, nor to extend his own medication-list oversight to prevent problems for his other, possibly less sophisticated, patients. (I am especially disappointed in my doctor, because I used to be pleased with him when he saw me at his now-closed stand-alone private sleep clinic.)

He is kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and I feel completely confident that he has my best interests in mind at all times. On top of that, after my last visit the turnaround time for getting my test results was incredible - he reached out to me in less than 24 hours! My only complaint about this access location is that it can be hard to get an appointment because they're often booked up way in advance. Apparently this is because they're supposed to have three doctors working there full time but right now they only have two. This is obviously not my doctor's fault but hopefully they can get a new doctor working there soon, and hopefully that doctor is as good as Dr. Creary!
