I now owe money to the IRS because Geneva failed to calculate my husband and I's W2s correctly and didn't file a single 1099. The 0 should have been a clue it was incorrect. Giving 2 stars because the state taxes were filed correctly. Which adds to my confusion about why the federal taxes were filed incorrectly. They never check their email and the voicemail box is often full. They are incredibly unprofessional in their conversation topics, things I have learned about them over the years involve Geneva and one of her daughters taking her dying mother to Thunder Down Under and how much they dislike their oldest son. If for some reason their oldest kid reads this, I am sorry you spent time in juvie and your mom refused to attend family counseling because she, "didn't have the problem," she felt you the child had the problem. I hope you and your wife have a lovely life in the Napa area and cut them off. My husband and I are on your side because your mom's version of you, your life, and your wedding painted her in such an awful light, we can't possibly imagine what the reality for you was like. That should give people a sense of what they have to deal with if they go. Also, to the owners of Hayward Car Wash, we know how much money you made last year. Won't publish it on Yelp. But if you see this, consider getting a different accountant that won't tell random customers how much you make. read more

WORSE TAX BUSINESS IN CALIFORNIA! Geneva and Tad are so unprofessional. They do not return phone calls or voice-mails and they are never in the office. If you want to have your personal or business taxes completely ruined. They are the couple for you. By far the worse tax prepares I have ever worked with. How they are still in business is shocking because they do not care about you or your taxes,as a customer. Once you pay you will be ignored by both of them. They lack professionalism and the experience to file your taxes.. I wound up owing the IRS $250,000 because of several mistakes made on my taxes for a house I sold. IRS froze my bank account and it was a nightmare getting resolved because both TAD and Geneva ignored every phone call and email. This is by far the worse business I ever ever dealt and two horrible individuals. Also corporate does not care about their franchises. That's how they are able to stay in business. The location is basically a dump. They are not a business at all. The location is just a tax write off for them. They aren't their to conduct business. Don't make the mistake and use them. I am truly glad I found this place to assist me with my tax needs. I went to a large Tax company (you can guess which one) but they couldn't assist me with my request so I went to this one right on Mission Blvd. Geneva and Tad were just wonderful folks who were thorough, professional, and friendly too. They answered all my questions and concerns and I left feeling without a trace of burden or worry as when I first walked in. That said, I highly recommend this place to anyone who would need Tax Assistance as they are very knowledgable people who do such a wonderful job helping people like me who have Tax concerns. I checked out the compliments and ignored the bad ones specifically customer service issues such as diligence and cordiality. I gave it a try and focused on their positive side which is their expertise. Sent my files on March 12 and got a response on the 15th that Tad was a little behind, it was ok coz I truly understand. Called them 12x from the 13th to the 25th! Geneve? answered 3 out of 12. Twice she said they will call me back but never happened. She sounded arrogant and condescending but I tried to be patient. It's been 2 weeks with no decent communication with this tax prep and all I need is an UPDATE! Be it an EMAIL or a brief phone call! All it takes is a minute for an update and to tell me if they will be able to work on my Tax or Not! They may be the best in Tax prep I guess (MAYBE) but they lack manners. I Signed up for Turbo Tax full-service today, an accountant called me back in an hour and everything is done in one day with a smile. No wonder Intuit is such a successful company...NO WONDER... read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!! Tad is by far the worst tax preparer in the history of tax preparers and his wife Geneva is no better. They are non responsive when you need anything from them and will ignore all of your calls and emails. I received several letters from the IRS stating that I owe $250,000, which I knew was not correct. It was the result of incorrect information filed by Tad for my taxes, due to his inexperience on understanding how home sales work when filing taxes and a long list of other incorrect information he filed on my forms. When I first received the letter I called Tad office once a week and left voicemails and sent emails. Visited the office weekly and it was always closed. Even though the hours online stated they were open. I did this for 6 months.  After not receiving one single return phone call or email back from Tad at Liberty Tax Mission Blvd. I get a final letter from the IRS that my bank account will be levied due to the incorrect information filed on my taxes. Showing that I have an outstanding balance of $250,000. I advised the IRS that my tax preparer was ignoring me and being non responsive. They also needed my tax preparer to contact them directly to discuss how he went about filing my taxes the way he did and I assume, to work with him on getting it corrected. One of the days I finally get through and Geneva answers the phone. I explained to her my urgency. Long story short. She basically tells me they are too busy and will get back to me when they can. Trust me when I tell you. I was a huge inconvenience to her and she wanted in no way to help me. She basically told me they don't have time and to send an email. Which I had already did over 50 times. Since I had already paid them and they had my money. I guess they were done assisting me. I talked to a business partner and they suggested I hire a tax attorney to assist me. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND HEADACHE BY NOT USING LIBERTY TAX ON MISSION BLVD. Tad and Geneva are completely unprofessional and non responsive and you will be treated like a burden/inconvenience to them. You will be dealing with unprofessional tax amateurs. Try calling their office or sending them an email. Just for fun, so you can see for yourself that they never answer, return phone calls or respond to emails. If you want to confirm even further. Stop by their office during the business hours posted. For as many days as you want to stop by and I guarantee no one will be there and doors will be locked. It's a complete shock they are still in business. You are better off getting your taxes done at McDonalds. read more

These guys are getting a 5 star from me for several reasons. *They are respectful and do not make you feel embarrassed if you have not filed on time. (Wonder if that could be me) :-) *They are extremely detailed and ask questions beyond the scope of Turbo Tax. *These questions captured substantial deductions that are "obscure qualifiers," but fully legitimate. *They supported us in separating out the "chaos" and creating sections that they could sort and process. *They are the perfect mix of politely professional, but motivating. (The "kick in the pants" that keeps you on track kind of thing.) :-) *I also loved their office, as it is not just some sterile, boring office. It is full of personal touches and reminds me of offices in days gone by. There is a warm feeling about it. Part of it is the way they welcomed us and treated us. They made time for us and were also efficient in completing our taxes. *We are planning on using them again and feel such a sense of relief to have found them (plus to have our taxes done.) read more

I was doing my taxes at Liberty Tax Services in Castro Valley but that office was closed I don't know the reason. So I used Yelp to find a place to do my taxes. I called this place to make appt. Tad picked up the phone, it was professional phone conversation so I already liked it over the phone. I went there and it is small office but Tad makes sure he asks every question that is necessary for tax return. I got good return and I'm very happy with his service. I sent him a referral already. Wonderful place! The people who run this tax office are wonderful. They are kind and caring. They did mine and my mothers taxes with no issue at all. I would definitely recommend this tax office for the next tax season as well as for book keeping. I will be back this next tax season to do my taxes, as well my mother. And every year after that. This tax office works Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society and they take donations for their team. They participate in Relay for Life each year and help with a wonderful cause.
