Just met with Andrea at Liberty Tax, and what a gem! She provided me with everything I needed to get both my state and federal taxes filed and sent off within 45 minutes! Quick, easy, efficient, and fairly priced. Kudos to Liberty Tax and Andrea! Thanks a bunch. *** PLUS they give $50 back to you if you refer anyone that uses their services! read more

Their hours are supposed to be until 7pm. I stopped by on Tuesday 3/31 around 5:30 and it was closed yelp, google as well as their recorded phone message say they're open until 7pm. So what the hell? Why were they closed?? read more

Not helpful and not looking out for your best interest. They don't know the system and over charge. Last year I was penalized because they did it wrong which cost me an extra $1500 and charged me $550! I'm a self employed single mom, and they said I owe $4,000 in taxes! No deductions and didn't even call me to go over how I could reduce it. She sent an email 3 days later. I could have done it better myself. Save yourself money and frustration and go to a real professional that can save you money instead of not caring and making you pay the max. Then she told me I wasted her time. Tacky and unprofessional! read more

If I could put 0 stars I would this lady is a crook she filed taxes for me and didn't take much work was a simple 1099 form and after submitting asked her what she charged me just to make sure price was same as previous year she went from my regular price of about$100- $150 to charging me $500 off of my tax refund with out knowing or my consent this was ridiculous! Never coming back again! Don't fall for this trap to whom ever read more

Liberty was fantastic! Andrea helped me file my late taxes and even got the late penalty removed! Friendly, convenient and most importantly for this type of service - COMPETENT! Definitely going back! read more

I've been coming to Liberty tax for years! I have to say the service is A+++++, Ask yourself the following questions; Do I want to feel like a persons and not a number? Do I want to build a friendship rather than meeting a face only to forget that person minutes after leaving? Do I want exceptional service? Feel great walking in and out? If you said yes to any of these things then go to LIBERTY TAX IN COSTA MESA ON 17th. Everything g is done right the first time around, the assistance is above par, far superior than service I've had anywhere else by far! I promise you won't be disappointed! read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS OFFICE. I'm giving this office two stars ONLY BECAUSE the women who work there are nice. In 2019, Andrea forgot to file the correct paperwork for my 2019 taxes. So for almost 8 months, I was left hanging during the pandemic without a tax return. To give them a second chance, I went back for my 2020 taxes. When I was told I'd owe more money than I have EVER owed before, that was the red flag for me that I knew they weren't doing a great job. I went to a second tax professional and now am receiving a return. The Andrea's neglected to tell me as an independent contractor HOW MUCH I CAN ACTUALLY WRITE OFF. I don't think these ladies want to work that hard nor do I think they care to help out their clients as much as others. read more

Complete ripoff, I got my bill and they charged me over $500 for nothing. They should really be ashamed of themselves. Do not go here for any reason they will screw you!!!! Really disappointing. Last year I went to the Liberty Tax Service in Redondo Beach and so I was expecting the same level of service but I was sorely mistaken. The first day I went in Kim "helped" me but it was a Sunday near closing time and she lied to my face and said she couldn't pull my previous years tax returns. When I couldn't find them a week later I called and Andrea said that wouldn't be a problem. Neither of the girls I spoke with made any attempts to ask questions about deductions I could take on my return. Luckily I had written down quite a few so I hope I got the return I was expecting but I doubt it. The person at the Redondo Beach location from the year before asked me a ton of questions and I don't believe I would have gotten such a great return if I it wasn't for him. I will definitely make the drive back to Redondo next year and will never return to this location. read more

This place is the best, I've been coming for years and Andrea always assists me with both my personal returns and my Non-Profit. Through the years she also helped me with my small business. I love that they are available year round because things always come up that I have questions about. Highly recommend the Liberty Tax at 1745 Newport Blvd! read more

If I could give them negative stars I would! John Darius charged me $975 for a so-called amendment and promised a return. He must've thought I would forget, I have been asking since April 2017 about the return and I was told that he was too late to file for it. So I asked Andrea, who owns the liberty tax and others for a refund and she keeps telling me she'll get back to me. Either way I paid them $975 for nothing and I want it back. I went in today and spoke to Kelly who tried calling her at home, Andrea did answer, however once she found out who was inquiring, she said she would not take the phone call and hung up. I would highly recommend not doing business with this company unless you like to waste your money read more

My husband and I have been working with Andrea Bogdan for the past 3 years and have nothing less then a pleasant experience. Everyone in that office is professional, friendly and turns the tax processing around on a dime. We have been very happy with the follow thru and support in learning how to prepare our taxes. We are also grateful to them in helping us out with last minute requests. We have even moved out of the area and we still have them do our taxes. Not to sound unprofessional but they are "The Bomb" in everything they do in the way of customer service with rapid responce and delivery. They get a million stars from the Suzanne James house BIGTIME! If you need excellence in tax preparation and want respectful service call 949-650-1043 and I liked them also... I am pleased to have this opportunity to share my thoughts on the Liberty Tax Service office on 17th St. in Costa Mesa. The office is convenient and casual, and the tax preparers are all friendly and very proficient. In particular - my compliments to Andrea - who has done my returns for the last two years, and is a pleasure to deal with. I just had my 2014 tax returns prepared on 2.2.15, (for the 5th consecutive year), and I woke up 5 working days later with both my Fed & State refunds direct-deposited into my checking account. Quick & easy, and done right the first time...that's Liberty! read more

It was my first time taxes in America and the owner was a huge help. Super friendly and professional and was able to squeeze me in just before the tax dead line. read more

Taxes have been traumatic for me in the past. My first accountant was a crook, my second accountant got another job and my last accountant had a nervous breakdown. I figured why not try the kooky little place near my house - what do I have to lose? It was actually the other way around - what did I have to gain?! The entire office is very professional and polite. I saw several people coming into the office that had obviously been coming to them for years. They make you feel welcome and even can get you to laugh. It is a feel-good place and I hope that they will be my tax preparing service forever! Go see them - they really know what they are doing! PS - Andrea found several mistakes from my last two years of taxes and now I have a big return coming (oh, happiness). read more

This place is the biggest scam!! I literally walked out of there seething & disgusted with their unethical practices! I called and booked an appt. a week early. I asked on the phone the filing charge for 2 W2's with an income of $5k and nothing else to file. (I know, I know) it was a relaxing year, ok??! Anyway, they said about $75 - good enough. I went in, sat down, had some lady literally asking me ZERO questions - am I single, married, homeowner, etc?? It was ODD! I had to initiate all the details of my life to make sure she was filing correctly. I also had service industry W2's - she didn't even ask if I had additional tips to claim! After about 10 minutes, she said she was done & I owed them $195!!! WHAT??? WHAT??! Yeah, $195!! Long story short, I inquired why it was so much more than i was quoted??! She said they had to complete a low income form which took another 5 minutes. So for 5 minutes & a one page form it costs $120 more??!!!! She said, "we have to make our money somewhere. We can't survive on $75 returns." - No joke. That was their justification. I hope to save other people from this shady operation!! read more

The owner herself is hands on males sure her staff is up to date on all the new tax laws and procedure. Andrea, the owner took the time herself to do my return for the 2019 year. She got me more than I expected in less than an hour that it took to do the paper work. She gave me a $50.00 bill as a bonus and kindly told me that the fees which continues to surprise me on low it is, may be paid when my return is received. The employees are so nice! My return was done quickly and efficiently. I'm definitely a long-term customer.

I couldn't have asked for better service. Andrea took the time to sit down and explain everything. She made me feel right at home offering me soda or coffee and a small snack. Though covered California was a hassle to deal with Andrea made the process go well. Thank you so much for being so helpful and friendly. read more

I bought a voucher for tax services on Plum District. And I am SO happy I did. For $99 we got our taxes done, off my plate. We are receiving a refund for federal and state. And with TurboTax the same services would have been $80 without any help. The initial appointment only took about 30 minutes and I emailed the missing information to Andrea from the comfort of my home. I am impressed with this office and would recommend them to anyone. Andrea is great. read more

I have had the pleasure (yes, I said pleasure) of having the wonderful people at Liberty Tax Service in Costa Mesa prepare my taxes for the past 4 years. Andrea Bogdan is the bomb! Every year I wait until the last minute (I even have a nick-name to that effect) and every year she is still there, willing to let me in the door. I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes or so, even without an appointment. I sit down, jaw clenched, knuckles white, and she gets me through it with a professional demeanor that is at the same time friendly, warm, charming, and reassuring. She listens to my income earning situations each year (sometimes an employee, sometimes straight commission, sometimes self employed, sometimes a child as a dependent, sometimes not) and always knows the ins and outs of every situation to get me the best result! And so quickly! It only took an hour today! Honestly, people, don't go anywhere else. It is SO WORTH the money to have someone this knowledgable and fun prepare your taxes. Do NOT try to do it yourself! Got to Liberty on 17th Street and have some fun while you do the worst thing you have to do all year! read more

I am going to update my one star to a 3 star.. Only because the owner of the company read my review (a year latter nearly) and looked up my information in their system there and located me. It was a little weird to have her show up at my job. But she wanted to extend an apology offering a complementary gift certificate to file my taxes along with an additional $20 off coupon that I could use some time latter. She explained that they did let go out that jerk of a manager that left a bad taste in my mouth about Liberty Tax Service and invited me to return. I am only writing an update based upon the customer service. True it was nearly a year latter but to follow up was nice. I am going to just stick with the people who have been taken care of me at Casa Blanca in Orange. I really was not a fan of all these hidden fees that I was quoted at Liberty Tax and they are a pop up shop meaning after tax season they are gone. Casa Blanca is there year round. Thank you to the owner for being nice and following up. That is worthy of five stars.. read more

I was an idiot to go to another place all these years. I received a notice that I owed more taxes from 2011. My tax guy (whom will go unnamed) had a month to review my issue and he was the one whom prepared my 2011 taxes in the first place. Well long story short...he dropped the ball and my dead line was today. I know nothing about taxes and it was all too confusing. I decided to just pay the 2700$ california "said" I owed. Last min, I called Andrea at 145pm and told her the situation. Mind you, she was not the one whom prepared my 2011 taxes or even knew anything about my tax situation. Also, I'm telling her I have a dead line in a few short hours! She immediately told me to come in as soon as I could. I came right in with my paperwork. She reviewed my situation, a short time later with an extremely small fee (talking peanuts compared to the 2700$) she had filed my "protest". I don't know the correct verbiage here. She even asked if I needed to run errands while she did the dirty work!!! I am ever so thankful and liberty tax just gained a new client. Thank you thank you so much!! Your amazing work does not go unnoticed! Strongly recommend this place to anyone for all of your tax needs. This was too easy. read more
