CITY SLICKER I have…read moredriven by here many times but i have never stopped. Recently I needed zucchini. We were having company over and I wanted to add grilled zucchini to the menu. When I stopped in I was amazed at the large selection of items they had. They also had a bunch of great looking zucchini. The normal price for them was $1.29 a pound but they were on special for 75 cents a pound. I grabbed 3 nice size ones and the total price was $1.83. Now that was a deal. I should have grabbed more. I was also able to meet the owner Chris. She was very friendly and helpful. She actually stopped in to drop off more zucchini. She was also there to see how the store was doing. We also started talking about cooking food and using fresh veggies. As she was talking to me she was looking through the peppers. She picked up two giant green peppers that were going bad and asked me if I could do something with them. I told her Yeah and she gave them to me. In fact, I took them home and roasted them on the fire pit. I also served them to our guests later that day and they loved them. In fact, the guests used them on there brats. I know roasted peppers are not a traditional topping but I must admit they tasted fantastic on the brats. Thanks Chris for giving me these and adding to our already delicious menu. This store is seasonal. I am not sure when they close down but I'm sure when it starts to get cold. I also learned that Chris is the daughter of the famous Jerry Smith who has the farm North of this location. So all of there fresh seasonal veggies come from there. Jerry Smith's farm has a great pumpkin patch for the kids to visit in October. If you haven't been there then I recommend you load up the Family and make a trip there. They also have a Corn Festival coming up in August too. Those events take place at the Jerry Smith Farm and not here. I also have a Yelp Review posted for that location. Okay back to Green Acres. The selection was huge. They had a variety of potatoes and onions, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, 4 foot tall Dill, corn, hot peppers, green peppers, pickles, watermelon and zucchini. Everything looked amazing. In addition to the fresh vegetables this location also carried flats of flowers too. I really wanted the palm tree for $330.00 It looks so cool plus I would always feel like I'm on vacation if I owned it. So if you are driving down the road and you see a little shack at the side of the road it's Green Acres. It is the place to be. It's like farm living which is the life for me. Yeah I may get allergic from the smell of hay. I do love the country but I also love my big city too. There are some song lyrics mixed in there above...enjoy!!! See Green Acres makes me want to break out in song. I'm happy that people seem to be getting healthier. Places like this are helping us move in the right direction. We need to learn how to make food again and not out of a box but from scratch. It is not only rewarding to do this but it tastes amazing. So I appreciate Green Acres and I can not wait to stop back.

Always wanted to go strawberry picking, but every year we miss the picking window…read more This year we finally went. Chose Stade's based on reviews, availability and location. It was great and would definitely go again! Pricing is fair. They require a $7 minimum per person. It wasn't a problem for us because we chose (2) 4 quart buckets. As of June 2026, 1 qt was $7, 2 qt $14 and 4 qt was $20. I feel their pricing is fair esp given the price of berries recently. They provide the buckets that you keep. You can either take a trolley, train (extra charge) or walk. The field wasn't too far about 10-15 min. We opted to walk both ways. The strawberry fields were pretty big. I highly recommend coming early in the day because it gets busy and the earlier you come, the bigger the berries. They stagger their plantings so it stretches the season longer. They also have lettuce, radishes, cilantro, raspberries and sugar snap peas this weekend. Everything except sugar snap peas were a separate charge. All of their pricing is on their website and their Facebook page has their availability for the day. Strollers and wagons are welcome, but no dogs. The market is worth checking out. They had meats, pies, gifts, donuts, drinks and some produce. I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade slushy. It was refreshing after a couple of hours in the sun. The strawberry donut was tasty, too. It was moist and tender and not terribly sweet. Will definitely be back next year for more strawberry picking. We may comeback for other pickings later this year.

I am just talking about the market area as I have no grandchildren who can enjoy the stuff for kids…read moreto do. Our favorite orchard experienced a full crop failure of apples this year. I went to Stade's to pick up apples. Because I am allergic to yellow jackets there was no u-pick option for me. I was glad to find Honeycrisp apples and a few other things plus those delicious apple cider doughnuts. I gotta get back before they close for the season. The people are wonderful and the place is packed with so many things.

My Experience with Myers Family Farms Vegetable Stand…read more I am sharing my experience so other customers can make an informed decision before purchasing produce here. Unfortunately, this was the second time this year that I purchased produce from this stand and experienced problems with it being rotten or spoiled. Both times, I drove back to the farm to request an exchange. I live a considerable distance from the farm, so making repeated trips was inconvenient and frustrating. After these disappointing experiences, I felt it was important to share what happened. Most recently, I purchased a $20 box of peaches after seeing the farm's Facebook advertisement. When I got home and checked the peaches, I found significant brown discoloration inside one, and it had an unpleasant, rotten taste. I also found a peach covered in green mold. I contacted the farm directly to explain the problem and request a refund. The farm responded that the peaches were suitable for jam, juice, freezing, and other preserving purposes. However, the advertisement I saw did not state that the peaches were intended primarily for preserving or explain the condition I encountered. I tried to resolve the issue directly before taking further action. When I was unable to obtain a refund, I filed a complaint with Wisconsin DATCP. After the farm learned about my complaint, I finally received my $20 refund. Unfortunately, the way I was treated during this process was just as disappointing as the experience with the peaches. I received sarcastic and confrontational messages, including: "Thanks for this very big inconvenience for a $20 refund." I was questioned about why I continued shopping there despite previous problems and was told, in effect, not to shop there anymore. I understand that fresh produce can be affected by weather and that not every piece of fruit will be perfect. However, repeated problems with spoiled produce, the need to drive back to the farm to request exchanges, and the way my complaint was handled left me very disappointed. Because I live far from the farm, these trips were especially inconvenient. Customers deserve to know what they are purchasing and should be treated respectfully when they raise a legitimate concern. Although I eventually received my refund, it took filing a complaint to get the issue resolved. I am sharing my personal experience so other customers can make their own informed decisions. I encourage everyone to inspect their produce carefully before purchasing.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Stiles is far & away the best of the best…read moreof the best. It's hard to find a local business that provides such excellent service and beautiful plants for sale! Stiles is housed in an old red barn along Sheridan Road; you can't miss it. There is plenty of parking, and inside there are (currently) lots of decorative flower baskets, Amish canned fruits, jams, and relishes, and then in the back there is the greenhouse. The greenhouse is amazing. WOW! There are so many different herbs and flowers and annuals and everything; there are plants I'd never heard of and they were all healthy and strong and growing! NB White lavender. Absolutely. Get some! Susie (?) is the owner/operator and is just about the nicest lady ever. She is friendly and helpful and can tell you when things are coming in, and when to expect other things to be ready for sale. I believe some of her grandchildren are helping in the shop as well, making it a very family-friendly business. My clients LOVE coming to Stiles each year and I have to say I love coming with them. There's always something new, and something different, and of course the prices are exceptional. Stiles always feels like 'home' to me. Perhaps it's because it's run by real people who grow real food. Come up to Stiles. You won't be disappointed! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My dad always comes home with these giant half bushel baskets of mutsu apples in the fall…read more Literally once a week. There are so many apples in the house, it's disturbing. For some reason, I suspect it's because I'm retarded, I've never bothered to figure out where they came from until recently. They come from Stiles (I would have guessed some sort of apple vortex). I went here as a little kid, when the pumpkin characters were a little more impressive and the pumpkins and the farm itself seemed bigger, but it gets the job done if you want an all business pumpkin farm trip like I did this year. Lots of pumpkins, gourds, and a ton of apple varieties. They also have cider, other produce and some homemade goodies like jams and preserves. Now I just have to figure out what to do with all these damn apples.
