I have been Insured with Liberty Mutual for Over 10 Years, Currently with Home, 2-cars, and had 1 Motorcycle insured, Sold it before this season, But will be adding a New bike next spring. My Gripe is this, I was Hit and Run by someone at about 3am on the Highway, it was kind of like a bad dream, there were no other cars around and only a couple passed by after the accident, but Never stopped, Including the person who Side swiped me twice, and when I slowed down, they clipped My front bumper sending me into a spin on a fairly moist road at that time of morning, I was spun from the middle lane where I was driving, off of the Guardrail on the Left, spinning un-avoidably towards the right Guard Rail, where I came to My Final Resting Place, and than the Airbag Decided To Deploy. I had the car towed to my home, where their Appraiser came out and Immediately deemed the car Totaled, and did give me a fair market value check for the car, BUT I Was Not Informed That According To Their Commercial, That They Would Buy Me a Car 1 Model Year Newer, With 15 Thousand Less Miles. Now My 2008 Nissan Altima only had 45K Miles on it, With $1K worth of Brand New Goodyear Tires, and $2,800 worth of Shocks, Struts and Replacement of All Defective T.P.M.S Censors. The people at Liberty Mutual told me that they were giving me a check for X amount of Money and they were taking My Car, and if I wanted to keep the car, they would deduct a little over a third of what they offered, So they sent a tow company to come a pick up the car, giving me 24 hours to clean the car out. At No Time Did They EVER State To Me That They Would or Even Could Offer to Replace My Car. I Loved My Altima, and Would have taken a Replacement Car in a Second, Especially if they could have found me a year newer, which would Have Been a 2009, and 15K Less Miles, which would have been about 30K Miles. I Believe if They are going to Advertise that this Replacement Car is something that they offer, Than During the Time When They Totaled Out My Car, They Should Have At Least Told Me That Was An Option, and Lay All My Options Out For Me To Decide The Best Course Of Action. Don't Advertise Something, If You Aren't Going To Let Your Customers Know That It's An Option, Espescially When You Have Made Thousands Of Dollars Off That Customer With Multiple Policies and They Have NEVER ONCE Been Late With a Payment. I am Left with a bit of a dirty taste in my mouth after this experience With Liberty Mutual as a Company, and Our Branch on Derby Street in Hingham, Ma Which is where we go to deal directly with them. read more
