In the year since, we had zero claims, but HMS decided to drop us out of the blue. No other company would insure our association. HMS came back and said that they'll keep us only if we pay an additional $28K a year (~90% increase) and the deductible increases from $5K to $10K. I understand raising the deductible, but the premium increase is outrageous and only serves to promote the stereotype that insurance companies are only after profits...typical 1% mentality. I am disgusted with this company. We have no recourse and the already struggling families that live in our building will have to pay even more into the association coffers as a result of someone's poor decision at HMS.

My boyfriend advised him that I was the president of the company which is a partnership and we wanted to get a quote with the insurance under my name and him being the driver. He told him to contact another girl Stacey in the office. It took weeks for Derek to respond to emails as well as Stacey. I was given Jason Wilson's name at Avon Dixon Insurance from another driver so I contacted him and he could not have been more helpful. He answered the numerous questions I had promptly and even at night when he was not at work. Jason was able to get the insurance at 21000 under my name. After all of that Derek had the audacity to question my integrity by telling the owner that he needed to look into that something was shady. I would never do anything shady and neither would Jason. I would never falsify any information and he is just mad that he lost commission because the insurance is through the same company. I would not recommend him to anyone if you need insurance go through Jason Wilson he is awesome and will help you with anything.

A general summary of the issue is here: When I purchased the…read moreproperty in Maryland, I was not aware of an easement other than the city public services easement along the road.  The survey by Duley and Associates did not reveal an additional easement that I feel I should have found out about during the process of purchasing this property.  The title research done by Mid Atlantic Services did not reveal this easement that was recorded at the court house. The $2700 title insurance purchased through Mid Atlantic Settlement Services with a company called Title Resources had exceptions for nearly everything (what does it cover?) and didn't cover this case. Knowing what I know now, I would have been tempted to leave my earnest money on the table and find a different house.  I am having difficulty with the easement and being able to utilize 10% of the property surface area (2000ft^2 out of 20,000ft^2), or approximately $20,000 worth of the property, on account of a sewer easement with right of way.  My neighbor would have me do nothing but mow the lawn and pay ~$600 a year in taxes for the priveledge of safe-guarding his sewer line.  Oh - i would have to pay Duley surveying $700 more to come stake out the easement that they should have found in the first place - irony abounds. I may have to go to court to settle the issue with my neighbor; I'd like to use this property for my dog to roam about on with an electronic dog fence for starters, and then for gardening and install of a french drain eventually.  I believe the title insurance claim should have been able to help with the legal problems I am experiencing in addition to the loss of value in the property.  I tried to get some assistance filing a title insurance claim against the title insurance I purchased through your company for about $2700.  Despite the seemingly frequent outlay of money for title insurance, it took 3 weeks to get some help to submit a claim.  I read the policy and then sent in a 'prompt notification' letter so I didn't lose the ability to submit a claim.  MASC did elevate the issue to their President, which was a little helpful, after about 3 weeks, but to no avail because of the title insurance companies exceptions. I'd be very careful selecting a title insurance company, ask lots of questions about easements and who is it exactly that goes to the courthouse to research this title, what if they are wrong or miss something? What is that pvc pipe sticking up in the yard and on the survey? Whose is that? Is that an easement?

He retired last year and my account was transferred to SF agent Erick Bonnilla in Cockeysville, MD. I wanted to add coverage to my policy so I called Erick's office on May 7, 2020 @ 4pm. Erick didn't know the answers to my questions and said he would call me back the following day. Never heard from him. I called his office two more times in the next 4 weeks and was told each time that Erick was 'not available' and that he would phone me back. Never heard from him. I called twice again on morning of June 3 and was promised he would call me back. Never heard from Erick. Yesterday, June 5th, I called and was told Erick was sick and they had no idea when he would be back ( I called back again the same day and someone else told me he was not sick!). I was told by the both Fernando and Walter that they would contact the home office and would get a call. Didn't happen. I decided to move my policy to another SF agent so I called Erick's office one again, talked to a lady who said she was a licensed agent. She said that Erick's office could not make the change and it had to be done by SF home office. I called my NC agent (who is GREAT!) for help, who said the transfer had to be initiated by Erick's office and she would call Erick. My NC agent took care of transferring the policy to another MD agent. Erick and his staff are a bunch of incompetent liars. They all speak BS and have no idea what they are doing. Frankly, it was a leap of faith and an assumption that they would be a decent shop if they were allowed to use the AAA name. I was not disappointed. They called by 9:00 AM the following morning with a diagnosis and estimate...and vehicle was complete by 5:00 PM that day Price seemed reasonable and they did not try to push an unnecessary battery replacement. A good experience overall, especially under the stress of breaking down more than an hour from home.
