I don't know what the other lawyers are like that work for liberty law. I did mistakingly request amy lind to be my lawyer through legal aide though. And I would like for people to know that she is a liar and will lie in court about you. I walked into the courtroom as she was talking and laughing with the crown prosecutor about me. I also found out way down the line that her boyfriend is an undercover cop. The same cop that arrested me. She played me this creepy video of myself that I know for sure that her and her man doctored up in order to humiliate me into taking a plea bargain that I knew was no good. When u go to meet her she will tell you what happened and not even listen to anything you have to say. When you turn to leave she will roll her eyes at you and make faces. Even if you try to fire her because of the way she goes about her job she will do what she can at the last minute to make you appear to be dishonest in front of the judge and the crown. Like it's already not bad enough that you are the accused in the matter so like you need your defense lawyer making you look even worse. She won't even try to spell your name correctly it just isn't all that important to her I guess, but to top it all off in her emails to me she kept calling me sir and I'm not a man im a woman. I don't know if she did it on purpose but it just seemed so rude. In the video I was wearing totally different clothes than the night of the supposed incident... her boyfriend investigates illegally as he sneaks into your home while your asleep or away to get what he wants and then when you unfortunately happen to get her as a lawyer she will do what she can to make you look stupid while she throws you to the wolves with a little smirk on her face the whole time. I don't know if this couple of love birds think they are some kind of cagney and lacey but my advice is if its at all your choice to make beware of mr. Amy lind, she does not have your best interest in mind at all. She isn't even fake nice she is just an underhanded crook that maybe should be the one on trial along with her crooked cop boyfriend. I don't know what kind of operation they got going on down there at liberty law but don't you think its a little bit of a conflict of interest if her boyfriend is the cop who arrested you then how come its ok for the two of these underhanded snakes to go ahead and edit a video that is part of your disclosure and then lie with their little forked tongues about doing it. Its all just a really really shady inside job so again do yourself the biggest favour possible and stay as far away of this wanna-be power couple as you possibly can or you will find yourself way worse off when she gets her greedy little hands all over your case. When I got my new lawyer I was able to view the real video and to think where would I be right now if I had trusted her? Probably not sitting here writing this review. Anyway when I saw it with the other lawyer it looked normal, her version they had made me look about 30 lbs heavier and literally making me look like some kind of monster. I asked her many times for a copy so I would have proof that her and her other half had done this but she just lied and shrugged it off like the snooty #*!$& that she is. She will literally try to ruin your life and not even for her own personal gain she will do it just to try to keep her cop boyfriend interested in her boring fake ass. But if you do mistakingly end up with her as your lawyer you better say a prayer cause your going to need all the help you can get. And also if you do get her as your lawyer I feel sorry for you but I tried to warn all of you. If you want to give yourself the best gift ever just say no to amy lind being your lawyer. Honest E. basically said a lot. Although for me it was Brian Beresh. So he's about the king of the wolf pack. It just floors me that these people are allowed to do this. The Crown is safe. Just plead guilty and or use a public defender. That's safe. This law firm which was the where brian was practicing when I used them do 2 things. And please remember this if you're involved in a criminal matter. 1) They charge astronomical fees so you'll end up broke or in debt as a result. And .... 2) and this is the worst part... they'll end up getting you a worse sentence. The reason is like the other person said, they try and fight it, go to court. So if you plead innocent and then lose, they Crown gives you a MUCH MUCH worse sentence. For me it was about 5 to 10 times worst as a result. I would have been far far better off just using a public defender and trying to cut a deal. Would have saved tons of money, time, and reduced sentence. It's fine I get it now, basically they deal with so many sum bags that they don't care about them anymore. They're all guilty in these lawyers minds. They're job is 2 things. Make it look like they're on your side and give you false hope. And try and drag it all out as long as possible, fight it as long as possible and milk as much money as they can from you in the process. Again you've been warned. This is not the salvation your seeking. Don't go broke in the process of trying to save your hide. Besides jail or prison isn't actually that bad in Alberta (as strange as that might sound). It's far better than most people realize. so don't be scared at all if that's what your facing. But don't lose all your hard earned money, and get added time (by using these clowns), and have to wait around for years, stressed to the 9, wondering what's gonna happen to you. Because that's what gonna happen if you use firms like this. I'm not saying their all bad, or that Liberty Law or any other firm couldn't win. But at what cost. And is it worth the risk? Not really. It's not worth it. Just hire a public defender. Plead a deal and get it over with for dirt cheap. These people are not gonna save you. They'll likely only end up making your situation far far far worse, and steal all your money along the way. it's sad because they probably paint it really bad for all the slightly more honest criminal lawyers out there who maybe do care. I'm presuming there are some. Not sure anymore if there are. I would never hire a criminal lawyer or any lawyer again ever. They're all liars. Not to be trusted. Brian Hurley is pure evil. He works for the Prosecutor, not for you. It's pretty bad when your Lawyer has a smug look of self satisfaction on his face as he rips you off and lies to you the entire time you're in his office. He's lazy and rude.
