In March my son decided that he was ready to enter a rehab facility for his drug addiction. When I first received the call from Michael Armstrong from LW, I was very skeptical. Everything he told me about the program seemed to good to be true! Despite my skeptism my son enrolled and a week later he was on his way to changing his life. He was initially sent to an outside detox center ,the staff at Liberation kept in touch with me through out the process. From detox he was transferred to a phase 1 house where the foundation for his recovery was set. As he developed and progressed he was then moved to phase where he was given independence and the chance to delve into what he learned in the first phase. Once he completed phase 2 it was off to a sober living home. He is currently there and due to graduate from Liberation way in a week. Although he struggled with in himself through out this process he was supported every step of the way by the Liberation Way staff! He went from a young man who was numb and empty inside to a man who now has a sparkle in his eye. He has direction and goals! He just spent the weekend home for the holiday and I can tell you there is no greater gift than seeing your child happy and healthy! Eternally grateful to all the staff at Liberation Way! This place gave me the opportunity to change my life, provided a foundation and gave me the tools necessary to live a sober life. Horrible place and they never return your phone calls and the intake people lie to get you in, that's about the only time they answer. Just read the newspaper articles and it's dangerous and the nurses don't know what they're doing and certainly don't know what HIPPA is ! I can't believe they give you methadone there and then send you to a house at night and don't do vitals and the techs don't k know how to take BP anyways and they aren't medical techs , they are just babysitters. I also had stuff stolen from the techs that was in there safes and never got it back . I was told they would reimburse me , but every time I called I got the runaround . People stealing methadone from nurses station because the one nurse propped the door instead of locking it and had to send patients to the hospital. I should have been sent to the hospital to be checked out, but they never sent me and just said "wow you look sedated ", and kept it moving. Thank god they got rid of Stephanie, the old school nurse , who needed to go back to school for an update or retired years ago . As a former client I absolutely love Liberation Way and absolutely recommend the treatment AND after care program to all of those struggling with addiction issues. No where else has ever taught me how to actually function as a person without the use of drugs or alcohol. Liberation Way thought me how to be an adult and to deal with real life problems. They allow their clients to move up the ranks and gain more privileges the longer the stay away for the drugs and the further they grow. They also allow loved ones to visit with the patients and have family counseling, I have never ever done that anywhere else before. They also allow their patients to move to a sober living house where they continue to attend groups but also learn how to have a life. If it was not for the sober living house I would not have learned how to be a functioning member of society what so ever. When I entered Liberation Way, I was a broken mess. Now having left being a client, I have a full-time job that I love, I have my family in my life, and I'm genuinely happy with myself. It is truly a life beyond my wildest dreams. There is no cure for the disease of addiction however it can be maintained as long as a person is willing to work everyday at keeping it contained. Very simply, Liberation Way helped me to get a life back that I had almost completely thrown away. My family, my freedom, my future on a lot of levels all at risk and they stepped in to help mitigate the damage that I had caused in my active addiction. And, I watched them do similar for a lot of people during my treatment experience. The program is unlike any in the area that I'm aware of and I believe will continue to improve upon the standard (and largely innefective) models that are still [over]used. I also found the treatment individualized if you advocated for yourself and saw the staff at Liberation Way advocate for several people long after their actions suggested they had given up on themselves or in a different setting would have only compounded their problems (usually incomplete program discharges). They are also incorporating evidence-based treatments into their current curriculum to more effectively help their current population and future clients. My treatment experience at Liberation Way was as good as treatment gets. Over 5 years I'd gone to multiple detox, residential, and outpatient facilities and never received the kind of care and support I found here in Yardley. The program is one of supportive living, open discussion, and future planning. They treat their clients as adults deserving of love and kindness, and give access to a wide range of productive, healthful, and fun activities. They foster a community of individuals who care for one another. From time to time, clients who refused to participate in a positive or productive way would behave harmfully, subversively, and destructively. It is impossible to police this kind of behavior 100%. If a person wants to lie and cheat his or her way out of the program, they can. It is not a lockdown facility, hospital, or prison, nor does it claim to be. I saw unfortunate instances of residents arranging to get drugs or engage in other dangerous behaviors. What set Liberation Way apart was its ability to identify and intervene, in most circumstances. The owners, the staff, and the community itself acted together as a safe space. They responded to destructive behavior fairly and competently, intervening and offering a better way. I've never come across a more generous group; they genuinely wanted to help people succeed and always offered a second chance to those types who preferred to subvert the system and place the other clients in danger. It is a difficult business. No one person or entity can modify the behavior of, or physically restrain, an addict in the throes of self-destruction. I applaud Liberation Way for always acting in the best interest of its clientele, extending generosity, love, kindness, and staunch support **for all of those willing to reach out and take it.** read more

Liberation way saved my life. Before I came to this rehab I was an shooting heroin everyday and nothing fucking mattered in my life. Liberation way showed me the correct way to live and realize using drugs everyday wasn't the way to live. It showed me how to properly handle my feelings like a normal person, the below reviews are ridiculous, you can't blame a rehab if your loved one is not ready to get clean, nothing will make them stop other then themselves. The entire community at liberation way is awesome from the house techs to the counselors, everyone helped me. If I didn't come to liberation way I would be dead or homeless in Kensington. If your tired of being sick and tired come to this rehab, it's not a typical inpatient rehab, it's very unique in its own way. They show you how to stay sober for long term instead of kicking you out after 3 weeks like all other rehabs.
