The service was fine, the staff were guardedly friendly and incredibly professional. When things get busy it's a small office, so go figure things will be hectic, slow, and people won't throw out a good review.

Why? Because unlike some Stanford subspecialists, Dr. Jami does not have any god-complex. He is a good human being first. Based on my prior experience with how rushed the appointments with pediatric gastroenterologists at Stanford are, I started quickly listing the symptoms that my kid had. Dr. Jami, gently asked us to slow down and provide him with every detail. He did not rush us through the appointment and he did not jump to quick conclusions or pass crazy judgments. He actually, took the time to diagnose and make his own inferences and asked us to do further tests and follow up with him. When we showed concern about exposing my kid to more radiation through more x-rays, he understood and agreed. Like a traditionally experienced doctor, he actually physically evaluated the kid. Dr. Jami is not just a good doctor but also a compassionate listener. At the end of the visit, he even asked my little boy if there was anything else the kid wanted to tell him. Dr. Brown clearly makes an effort to keep up to date on the latest research (for example, he briefed us on recent conflicting studies on whether early introduction of solid foods increases or decreases food allergies in children). He's open-minded and not dogmatic: he supported our decision to have our second baby at home and to forego circumcision, even though these are unconventional decisions. At the same, when the evidence really does support a specific course of action (such following standard vaccination schedules), Dr. Brown doesn't hesitate to say so emphatically.
