She filled for a discovery (which was not necessary with out asking me so I was left with large bills for this -she supposedly was in the court house for hours however the other party's lawyer didn't find her -I was advised not attend (so I can't confirm if the billing was correct). She talks very slow (something that takes 10 minutes turns to a 30 or 60 minute phone call **she charged $500 and hour ) and her emails sometimes are "useless" at first I thought she was sweet in following up with me so much but when reviewing the invoice and email is basically a min of $75 and up to $500. Her ways of handling situations are not the best solutions - she prolonged something and multiple times (one of them could have resolved the matter back in September 2022 but she prolonged it to the end of December 2022 (4 months of paying $500 an hour). Anyway she also had my divorce decree mailed to her (so Obvi her mailing out me was another fee and me taking her call was another fee- please note that could have been mailed to me directly) Also I had to a lot of leg work and pick up documents and etc at her whim (which is not good practice - I mean I was at a dental appointment and she stated I need to complete a document asap- which was not the case). I trusted Ms Goldenberg but after reviewing my invoices and realizing her tactic and observing that a simple email "let me know how it goes" cost approx $125 - I don't recommend. - I was referred to her by a friend who had a 7/8 year divorce and after my personnel experience I can see that she is not out to get resolutions but rather prolonging it and charging you fees. This is was my experience - o wait there's more she instills fear (she recently told me I had court -which didn't make sense because the case was dropped) but again emailed me $$$ and when I called to inquire $$ and it was false information (another tactic to get more money out of me)!

My advice to you is to find a lawyer who doesn't give glib answers to your questions (when you can get a hold of him) and doesn't come up with excuses for his long absences. I was so tired of being in the dark, that I actually had to sign up for a PACER account (https://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/pscof/login.xhtml) to get answers on the status of my case. I learned more about our case from the public court records then I did from this lawyer. I also found out that he caused a big delay by not filling out a motion correctly. The judge denied our motion to lift the automatic stay because Mr. Weiss missed an important step and we had to let our slimy tenant stay in our property for a few more weeks. He never indicated that the delay was his fault and he still had the nerve to send us another bill. Don't believe the Google reviews like we did.

I filled out a Melehy & Associates inquiry online on June 8, 2024. I did not receive a follow up…read morecall or email after this, so I called on June 18, 2024. Felipe stated he could not find my inquiry, so I provided the information. After emailing my information and scheduling a 10-minute consultation for July 30th, I called for my appointment yesterday and was informed that not only was my appointment not on the calendar, but the person who took my call could not find my information. When I finally spoke with the attorney, Mrs. Suvita Melehy, Esq., she apologized for the mishaps and explained they were understaffed. 30 seconds into explaining my case, Mrs. Melehy began to theorize AGAINST my case without understanding that the employer does not calculate credentials as both she and I do. She began to continuously interrupt me to the point I had to ask her if I could finish my sentence. Mrs. Melehy explained that her firm does not take civil rights cases on contingency, which I understand as a civil rights advocate, and she explained that Mr. Melehy's hourly rate is $675/hr., hers is around $625/hr., and junior associates' hourlies are ~$350-$450. She explained that they do not accept payment plans. While their hourly rates are so high that a judge recently ordered that their excessive attorney's fees charges be lowered in a case in April 2024, I was willing to pay their rate. Where Melehy & Associates lost a client with a valid case that will net higher than the $250,000 case Mrs. Melehy bragged about is when she decided not to listen to a potential client. It is clear their purpose is solely making money, not advocacy nor helping victims of discrimination. I highly suggest Melehy remove civil rights work from their offered services if money is their only motive.
