I actually chose a couple of doctors before but ended up canceling both times. Finally, after more searching, I found Dr. Kristina Hobson in Los Gatos. To be honest, when I first walked into her office, I was already looking for an excuse to cancel again. But once I spoke with her, I was really impressed with her knowledge and the way she explained everything, so I decided to keep my appointment. Today was my procedure at Silicon Valley Surgery Center, and I had such a great experience. The facility was clean, calm, and very nice. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful. From the front desk to Barbara, who helped review my paperwork everyone was kind and welcoming. My first nurse, Kay, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. When she went on break, Nicole took over she was also amazing. I'm not a fan of needles at all, but she did my IV so gently and with so much care. Then Kat, the third nurse, took me to the procedure room she was kind, calm, and very professional. Dr. Michael Block, the anesthesiologist, was excellent. He actually texted me the night before to ask if I wanted to review everything ahead of time or on the day of the procedure, which I really appreciated. We exchanged a few messages, and then he spoke with me again before the procedure and explained everything clearly. He was confident, knowledgeable, and very reassuring. In the procedure room, I fell asleep within seconds and woke up quickly afterward feeling great. Within about 30 minutes, I felt completely fine. I was even able to take calls and respond to emails. And now, about Dr. Hobson ,she is truly a 10 out of 10. Honestly, the entire experience was 10 out of 10. From the office to the surgery center, every single nurse and staff member was exceptional. I'm a very detail-oriented and perfectionist person because of my job, so I don't say this lightly. Something I was so scared of and postponed for 5 years turned into such a smooth and positive experience. Thank you to everyone

I recently lost my primary care physician,…read morewho was truly exceptional--she was always available on short notice when I was sick and built a strong, trusting relationship with me over time. Since transitioning to Dr. Shamala, my experience has been very disappointing. Appointments are booked several months out, which defeats the purpose of having a primary care provider. When you're sick, you need timely access--not a long wait that forces you to rely on urgent care visits, as I've had to do multiple times. When I asked about the delays, I was told there are simply too many patients. That response was concerning. It feels like the focus is on taking on more patients rather than properly caring for existing ones. During the one appointment I was able to get (scheduled three months in advance), I felt rushed, as if the priority was moving quickly to the next patient rather than providing thoughtful care. Maybe my previous doctor set a very high bar, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Accessibility and patient relationship are fundamental to primary care, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

Dr. V is extremely thorough, is willing to take the time to explain, to discuss when needed, and to listen when you as the patient have something you especially want to get across. He's super responsive, including many times outside of regular office hours and typical weekdays. We learned to be "patient" with her because we knew she usually spent a lot of time to examine her patients and follow up with history. It is usually at least an hour per visit. The hospital set up time for the type of visits for doctors and she always ran overtime. This may not be good for patients who don't want to spend too much time with a doctor. But for baby boomers, we need someone who care us more than we care ourselves. She know my personal medical history and family history better than I do and she catches any problems before they get serious. I know two of her patients, my friends, got treated for cancer at early stages because Dr. Kwok knew something was not right and recommended them to go to the hospital for in-deep examinations. If you are young and healthy, and always rush to do everything, then you are better to stick with someone associated with the doctors under the hospital umbrella. They truly efficient. After dr Gutman's she visited another surgeon for a second opinion which turned out to be accurate and she did not need surgery. The situation which sealed the deal for me to lose all confidence in Dr Gutman was I just learned tonight, through a slip of the tongue, that while in high school my grandson had surgery for a pionoidal cyst. After surgery wound wasn't healing so returned to Dr Gutman who said it would heal just give it time and he was going on vacation. When I heard that I was very very upset even though it happened about three years ago. My daughter, grandson's mom, immediately took him to pediatrician who examined the would and referred them to wound care center. What kind of surgeon can't recognize and diagnose a wet wound that needs immediate attention at wound care. My opinion of Dr Gutman fell to the lowest score and I've lost all respect for him as a surgeon. His vacation was more important than his patient. With this information please do not put your trust and life in the hands of Dr Gutman. Don't mess with a grandma bear when it comes to her grandchildren.
