Melody Pairo (C-RNP) is amazing, she always takes the time to listen to your concerns and discuss things until you feel comfortable with everything. She's the most compassionate doctor I've ever had, this has also been the feedback from people I have referred to her. The girls at the front are always pleasant and helpful. I'm so grateful that I found this office and more specifically my doctor all those years ago, I couldn't be more pleased.

He is nothing short of a true Gentleman, always concerned w my privacy as well as my overall health, my appointments are never rushed and i never feel hurried. The entire staff from calling for appointments through my visits and follow through i always feel like the most important patient that they have. Dr Wenrich makes you feel as if you have a respected, caring, Father-figure looking out for your Health needs, and my improved overall health is proof of it!

I was self-pay for some of that time and was placed on a budget plan with monthly payments, which I kept up to date and paid double payments or more each month until 2020. I got skin cancer which drove my balance up substantially. We own a business which came almost to a standstill during covid. I missed 2 payments, so the billing department sent my account to a collection agency. The woman who runs the billing dept. called me and told me that they would not treat me or refill my diabetes or high blood pressure medicine until I pay the balance in full. This would take me over a year with an affordable payment plan. The following day someone from the office called and told me that I needed to make an appointment in order to refill my medicines. I figured someone from the office realized how heinous it was to deny medications to a diabetic patient due to a billing issue. I thanked her and told her that I would call later to schedule. Relying on this, I attempted to make an appointment while in the office for my child's appointment. In addition, while I was in the office my doctor instructed me to get a lab order from the front desk for my next appointment. The girl at the desk pulled up my account and then excused herself while she disappeared in the back. She returned followed by the woman in charge of billing. She rudely told me that she thought that we "were clear" that I needed to pay my balance in full before they will treat me or call in my meds. I explained that the last thing that I was told was that I was to make an appointment. That is when she rudely told me "well the buck stops with me and the girls don't know anything about the billing. And I told you that you have to pay the balance in full before we will treat you." Even after I told her that I am currently insured she said, "well we are not going to rack up anymore bills." Humiliated in front of my child and everyone in the office, I asked for a list of my medications so I could go to an immediate care to have my medications prescribed and she then said, "You can go online on our portal to get them." Even though I didn't have my login info with me, I left the office in tears. I cannot believe that they would put my health in jeopardy and deny me access to life-saving medicine. It would have cost them nothing to print out a piece of paper and this is a courtesy that they have always done in the past. They definitely put their bottom line before the health of their patients! *I gave them 1 star only because this site forces you to select a rating!

She finally called me back and apologized for not getting back with me sooner because she was out of the office. Kim has always been able to solve my issues with staff in the past and I have no doubt that my feedback was heard. She took the time to listen to me and she genuinely cared. Not only did she resolve my issue, she also scheduled an another appointment with another Dr. in the facility. I will definitely give Chesapeake Health Care another chance just because of the way Kim handled the situation. She made me feel like everything was going to be ok, and that means everything to patients, especially when dealing with health issues. I also want to give a big thanks to Christie for calling to check on me after I posted the first review. It's because of the two of you that I will be returning. Thanks once again for all you do and keep up the good work! :)

I couldn't afford medications at the time and I was put down and yelled at because of it. I tried to leave the room and she blocked the door saying I would go out and make everything look like her fault. I was going through a lot and needed therapy and she wouldn't help me. I walked out crying. And traumatized... it was a while ago and I'm still hurt about it. People need to know. After that day I never went back and found a new amazing sweet doctor. And SHE CARES.

    I called this office three days before scheduled appt to inform them that I am a trauma survivor…read morewith chronic PTSD, and requesting a one-on-one exam with doctor as having third parties in exam room such as scribes and chaperones makes me extremely uncomfortable. Was told it would be noted in my chart. They also transferred me to doctor's voicemail, where I repeated my request. On appointment day the receptionist got my address mixed up with another patient's, not once but THREE TIMES!!! Said she was having a bad day. The tech who did the preliminary exam was very nice and understanding of my situation was nice enough so I assumed the doctor (who was a new doctor to me since my previous doctor had retired) would be just as understanding. Although she was informed ahead of time of my special request, she did not hesitate to bring a scribe into the room. Said it had to be this way and due to the large volume of patients, could not do the note-taking herself. I said, "So I am just a number on a conveyor belt with hundreds of other patients? And I am paying to be treated like that?" No response, guess the answer was yes but she didn't want to say it. Today I officially fired Azar Eye Institute and cancelled future appointments. I will get future eye care at a facility which treats me as a human being with feelings and consideration of individual circumstances. But if you don't mind receiving care in a cold and impersonal manner, then Azar is definitely the place to go.
