I recently took a series of group golf lessons at Redtail Landing with their head teaching guy,…read moreDave Lengyel, who is registered with the CPGA. I'm not much of a golfer, but I'm much more of one after just a few hours of putting and driving with Dave. I highly recommend him - not only because he is an exceptional teacher and jam-packs lessons with tips and insights that instantly change the way you look at the game and play - he has a genuine love of this game that stretches over decades. He's a pleasure to learn from and he made the lessons fast-paced, challenging and fun! I can't say much about the course, as I haven't played it, although from what I've heard it's some pro terrain that will make you work your game pretty hard. Redtail's training greens, I can say, were topnotch and we were given free water and carts for the duration of our lesson. Service: excellent. Too bad the course is by the airport - a 30-minute drive from downtown. We paid $140 each for a group of six, which included five lessons with Dave. As I'm virtually a beginner, the amount of one-on-one instruction I got was perfect. He moved around the group, gave us each pointers and kept things moving forward - without overwhelming us. I wouldn't hesitate to sign up for another round of lessons with Dave. He's a busy guy so try to book with him early in the year. In the fall he is more flexible. This is, in my opinion, by far one of the best values in golf in the Edmonton area. As with most…read morecourses, the cost of golf has increased substantially in recent years, but with this course the value is still very solid. There are 27 holes in total, but if you book for an 18 hole round, they'll probably have you play the Prairies and the Meadows. However, for a quick 9-hole round early in the morning, consider booking the Woodlands - you'll get a bonus hole to play! This is, in my opinion, the best of the three 9-hole options, and a great place to work on your short game. If you like more wide open spaces, stick to the other 18 holes. Overall, this course is beautiful and suitable for golfers of all skill levels.

My sons who are golfers say it's a good course, and they have well-priced package deals for golfing. Absolutely LOVE the setting, wonderful new and beautifully designed clubhouse and outdoor patio spaces. A real gem of a place to grab a coffee and light lunch while enjoying wonderful outdoor spaces. Limited ready-made food during Covid ;choose from beverages, fresh great sandwiches, and pastries. During "normal" times grilled Franks, homemade soups etc are their specialty. LOADS of outdoor patio seating areas. Lovely well kept garden areas to look at, plus you may catch glimpse of one of their wandering PEACOCKS! The staff treat non-golfers well; we cyclists don't get frowned upon for our cycling gear. Very close to Southeast Edmonton , minutes from the Henday. I've been told that this is a family owned business, on the property of a family heritage farm. They've created a beautiful venue and are doing a great job managing it!

Never felt so unwelcome at a golf course…read more I'm avid player with a handicap of 6 so not too bad for the business man that I am. However and unfortunately Derricks reception and customer service need quality attention. It is the first point of contact and the most important. I will not book our company Christmas event with them or return with potential business partners to play - golf is a game for all those that enjoy a round or two it is no longer a class status sport.

I've began to question my membership and will considering dropping it. Positives: - The workout center and pool are almost always empty. No matter if you go at 7 PM on a Monday you're always going to find a bench press and never have to wait for the machines. - The badminton and multipurpose courts are good. Cons: - The food is typical Sysco food - restaurant quality, good but nothing to write home about. The brunch is awful though a waste of money - The staff is horrible - since the new GM I've noticed a sharp decline in the way the staff treats its members. This is mind boggling to me because of the fact a) the members own the club and b) this is a private club not a night club. The staff used to be fantastic but that is no longer the case - and all of this at the time when everyone know's the membership base is struggling and the club is having a hard time attracting new members. Would not recommend and will most likely cancel my membership in the near future.

By hole review : front 9 Shooting from the white…read more Total cost for twilight is $23 ouch! 1- one of my fav here. Straight shot par 4 to boost the confidence levels. Tee box could use some work, green is ok nothing special ATM. 2-really rough tee box, nice fairway. Pretty much a straight shot to the green with a hill and some sand on the right. Green is in really rough shape, patchy and bumpy. 3-a 90degree dog leg right par 5 with water for those who dare risk cutting the corner. Pretty boring par 5. Fairway is I'm decent shape but has a pretty big burn area near the 100 yard marker! Stay away. Green is better then the first 2. O find this a rather simple par 5. Should be a birdy for most. 4- 203 yard par 3...pretty simple. Don't go right and you'll stay out of the water. Idea is to hit the green or be short and you'll be just fine. Tee box is patchy just like the others...they can't seem to get these tee boxes right. Pretty uneven. The green tho! Whoooo a win. Great challenging green. Love it! 5- I like this hole, it basically a corridor of trees straight to the green. Sand on the right and left, I hope your drives are straight! Nice hole, I've always enjoyed #5 the tee box is once again laking. From now on I'll just say tee box to refer to its level of poorness. I rather enjoy the green. It does have alot of deadness right infront of the green but that's why you just hit the green on 2 haha. 6- once again a straight par 4 with sand on either side...anybody catching the pattern? Tee box....in good shape!!! What a tough pill to swallow when youre on the green, putting to save par and you have giant gash to go across, I call that a gimmy if your close to the hole. There are 6-7 big gashes I'm that green for some odd reason, the rest of the green is nice, I don't understand. Damn such a shame. 7- straight par 3 with really no trouble. A little bit of sand on the left. Tee box is in better shape then the rest! Nice! Awesome green. Challenging! 8-NEWLY DESIGNED HOLE! 238 yards? Really short par 4 yes? Tee box? Really?! Tough look at the green which makes it tough to hit the green in 1. What kills it is the enormously tough sand traps waiting for you at the green! Holy! Beauty sand traps! Beauty green! They did good fixing this hole! Challenging green! I guess that's how they figured the par 4. Best hole of the front 9! 9-nice tee box and a really nice fairway! Challenging at the last 100-150 yards as it pulls a 90degree dogleg right. Tough to go over because of the numerous trees. Great green, most likely because the club house is there. OVERALL: -1 for really tough tee boxes... -1 for being overpriced...$50+ dollars on a weekend? No thanks, I'll play indian lakes which is in great shape! -.5 for not offering anyone memberships? What kind of course doesn't offer that, only offers bundles with a small discount. I'll come back half way though the season to see it's improvement, for now I'll stick to well priced courses roughly the same distance away from edmontons core.

Me and and my S.O. wandered across this golf course on one of our trips out to Elk Island National Park to check out the Bison. We stopped to check out the buffalo paddocks first and then went over to check out Astotin Lake. After checking out the lake and partaking in some fun GPS scavenger hunt activity we saw a sign for the golf course that was located nearby. I did not know about this golf course so we decided to go check out the club house and find out about fees and making reservations. The clubhouse is small and quaint but has some great views of the course and the natural surroundings. To our surprise it was pretty much empty! The course didn't look busy either. I made a promise to come out one day and check out this course in person. I haven't golfed much lately and this was a good excuse for a fun golf outing. Fast forward a few months and I have a visitor coming from Calgary so I suggest we go do some golfing. I said I knew of this course out at the National Park that I thought wouldn't be busy on a Friday. We arrived at the course around 2pm after a leisurely trip out there and also exploring the buffalo paddocks and a bit of the park. I expected we might be hitting the busiest part of the day but I thought worse case scenario we have some beers and practise putting. Not a bad day off indeed. As it had it though the course was pretty much wide open. We had another group of two going out in front of us and we gave them an ample head-start as no one was teeing off behind us. In fact there were no other groups behind us that caught up to us and we were taking it slow enjoying the round of golf. The course is beautiful. In fact it is one of the oldest courses in Northern Alberta and was designed by the same person that did the Jasper and Banff golf courses I was told. It is carved into the natural surroundings so you don't ever see any roads/buildings/etc, just trees and more trees. The course is well taken care of and has good sized fairways. Be careful though, once you are in the rough you might was well count it as a lost ball! It basically goes from fairway to rough and there isn't much in between. My visitor loved the course as well. He wasn't so sure about trundling "all" the way out to Elk Island to go golf but he raved about it during and after our round. He wants to go back when he is back next. All in all, this course is a HUGE winner in my books. It is a hidden gem for sure and I hope it does stay that way but more people do need to know about it! Happy Golfing!

Hills everywhere and the fairways are wide and long. Sometimes you're pitching at a 90 degree angle. It's absolutely gorgeous, not crowded, we took forever to play 9 holes. No rushing. And then the food at the end....smokies and the chicken burger...mmm mm. When you're done go for a little hike on the living waters walkway, drive through the buffalo loop and see some buffalo. The whole place is a beauty with top notch friendly service everywhere!
